- Ladder drills are amazing to include into a volleyball players warm up. It really helps deliver a lot of blood flow to the muscles and also help the athlete get neurologically ready to perform more explosive movements.
Another reason I like it, is that it is NOT volleyball specific. I am seeing more and more volleyball players struggle with non-volleyball related movements because of early specialization.
Here is 7 ladder drills that you can choose from. Generally I choose 2 ladder drills that we will perform 3 to 5 sets of. We generally finish the ladder sequence in under 5 minutes.
