' Vennai Thinna Chinna Thanama' very interesting composition!.Liked the " SugKhamaS slagyama.Kanna unakku'..!! Enchanting flow of 'Khamas' , Janya of Harikanbhoji; It does not contain rishabham in the ascending scale but with chathusruthi rishabham in the descending scale ., n is used mainly for javali type compositions. Say... light classical romantic songs that are used in dance concerts. Of course, 'Khamas' rightly fits into slow romantic/shringara.rasa in classical music. Here in this Sriranjani Santhanagopalan presented a Superb rendition.....very good ragalapana and class improvisation...'sahitya vinyasam n 'swarakalpana' presenting the detailed exposition of Khamas ragam.....very nicely maneuvered with enabled mridamgam to pusue and give a glozzy touch to the concluding lines...!!!.'

Kamas Pallavi is amazing. I wonder putting the Mridangam and Gatam vidwans on the spot with a new Thalam is fair but they raised to the challenge and did a fantastic job. She is unbelievably talented and better than her dad - may be up for discussion. Violin is also very good.

can't get over how she so fluently brings in the names of the ragas in the ragamalika nerval - simply super. God bless this group of extremely talented artistes. Apoorva Krishna seems to be very famous on her own.

I loved the tanpura
The RTP in Kmaas is really enchanting, the Niraval ragamalika in Thodi, Mohanam , Ganamurty and shyamkalyan (she identifies these ragas in a inventive manner) is just amazing. Great singing.
Even to my rudimentary understanding of the Karnaataka issay kalay, Sriranjani shows brilliant creativity. Wish her all the best !

What is the name of the thala to which the pallavi is set?
It is chatusra matyam. In the first laghu each anga is in different nadai. The first anga has 2 matras, the second anga has 3 matras,the 3rd anga has 4 matras and 4th anga has 5 matras. The drutham is in chatusra nadai 2 kalai. In the 2nd lagu the sequence of matras are reversed. First anga 5 matras to 4th anga 2 matras. Pallavi starts after 1 matra. Aruthi is 6 matras. Brilliant !!!
