Sierra Whitewater - River Rafting on the American River

Sierra Whitewater Rafting is based out of Coloma, CA. Located close to Sacramento and Tahoe, come out and enjoy the most popular river rafting in California on the American River. The most popular option is the South Fork American River, which features two different half-day options. 'Chili Bar' is the morning option, 'The Gorge' is the afternoon option, and both are perfect for first time rafters, families or experienced rafters. If you are looking for something a little more extreme, the Middle Fork features the famous Tunnel Chute rapid which was carved out back during the Gold Rush and is the most thrilling rapid on the river. During the early months you can raft the North Fork which is a free-flowing river and is only available for a limited time every year.
This video is of our guide school training 2021 on the North Fork. This river features some stunning scenery that is only accessible early in the season and is completely dependent on snow melt. Hopefully we can see you out on the river!
