That a woman from the next century should embody and embrace the culture of the 1960's in her acting is just incredible. I'd say it was ( wink wink) fairly joyful !!!
Thank you for getting opening line right. No one wants to believe it's "A godness (not godess or goodness) on the mountaintop." It is one of the most famous mistranslations in rock history.
A whole new generation discovers much more than real rock music, a shocking contrast to the cultural desolation of the current rock/rap politicized wasteland of today. They discover an era in which a choice became possible for independence and experimentation as opposed to the submission to stereotypical careers, the mindless subservience to conventional occupations and conventional lifestyles. The music then was, in places, political as well. But the message was far greater. An entire generation thumbed their noses at a sacrosanct government and its associated Victorian morality and conceptions of military duty. An entire generation, many of them anyway, said "No". That is the inner meaning, and attraction of this series, even though no politics other than the "cold war" appear to be in it. It was that a young woman could pursue her gifts in an unexpected direction with the help of an adaptive, as well as adoptive, mother, as part of a team defying the betrayal of responsibility and utter indifference of both her real and her adoptive fathers. The "pursuit of happiness" is more than just a phrase in a revolutionary document. It defies and destroys the Bismarckian conception of the state as an object to which one owes "duty" and for which one must "sacrifice". The socio-political repercussions of that revolution are still unfolding, to this day. One awaits, with expectation and hope, where it will lead. And, without a doubt, the same bunch of controllers, neo-fascists, manipulators and corporatists will be out there working overtimes so that you never understand this message or for them, worse, heed it.
Hahaha imagine that super power makes you strong everyday... I've been living alone for 3 years... Imagine that being drunk all those years drinking alone with this SONG!
Thank you for commenting about the song itself and not about some stupid TV show! This song is a CLASSIC and I hate that the memory of it has been cheapened by a dumb show.
lol imagine it's 1968 and you watch in the tv a music video of the song venus by shocking blue. I don't know how drunk beth was but she watched some future stuff. Venus was released in 1969
“Lighten up Francis”. It’s a a fictional Netflix series. A great fictional series I might add. In my movie there is a fictional 50s diner, I’m putting the Beasty Boys on the juke box just to screw with you snowflakes. Watch for it GW.
Cool catch! I love that!! there's a whole cadre of Mad Men fans who make sure every little detail is right The only discrepancy that I saw people write about was when Joan made dinner reservations at Cirque in New York City I think it was around 1966 and ciruw had not come out til 1968 or something like that Any ways thanks for the good get... I hope they continue the series or find a storyline for it... the movie has great style and great characters I think they could do a lot with this and I love this period of time
I don't know anything about this TV program, and I don't care. I just thank the producers for using the original Venus from Shocking Blue and not the dreadful Bananarama cover.
Was a number of really cool songs used in the series. I especially liked Classical Gas when she kicked everyone's ass in the tournament.
And along comes Mary is absolutely the top music scene in the series. The show was overall a masterpiece and anyone who chose the music is a genius
Po 9
This song makes me want to dance in the living room drunk too
I'm about to do just that.
And eventually throw up
@@ahnafahmed9545 Anya Taylor Joy did actually just that.
Naked, holding a candlestick like a microphone
*dances drunk in the middle of the living room*
vomits in the medal cup
