You need to spend a lot more time there than 1 1/2 days! My family and I spent 5 days in Quebec city and never got bored! LOVED it!
Laura Knaff thanks! I totally agree with you about that. I'd like to have a week (at least) the next time I visit :)
Laura Knaff I went there on a school kid a couple days ago (I’m only in grade 7, but I go to a French extended school) we only stayed there for 2 days (4 if you include the days we spent driving there and back)
Anyways, it was amazing. There we’re SO many things I wanted to try that I didn’t have time to try. I wanted to try Rabbit, escargot, poutine, macaroons, croissants, gelato, crepes, and tons of other food (especially French foods) that I saw there.
Unfortunately I only got to try: crepes, escargot, gelato, macaroons and croissants.
But that really isn’t enough. I want to try everything.
QC is a wonderful place. It is more French than Montreal and it's smaller size makes it very approachable. Be forewarned, English is not as widely spoken as Montreal, and not all restaurant menus have English translations - but the food is marvelous, The Chateau Frontenac is worth a meal or a drink, even if not staying there, and Dufferin Terrasse is one of the finest City byways anywhere. I love the funicular down to Vieux Quebec. I stayed at a very French boutique inn, and service was great, despite the proprietor's English being weak. I speak some French, so that helped. Wine in the afternoon, liqueurs before bedtime, and fabulous Quebecois breakfasts. Loved it! Winter Carnival is a neat experience, too, complete with an Ice Hotel and Ice Bar. You really feel lIke you have traveled to Europe here. If you have a chance, the boat ride to the fjord north of QC, past some amazing falls, is worth it. J'aime beacoups le ville du Quebec!
What a gem of a place, can't believe a lot of people don't know about this amazing city. Just arrived today and it's amazing!
Informative and concise!
Watching this AFTER spending a few days here and I did pretty much all of this! Great guide!
Oh, that is cool to hear! It is one of our favorite cities to visit back home when we're in North America.
thank you for posting the video. it is very interesting and we are going to Montreal and QC next week.
Rimay Yohannes Thanks! Two of our favorite cities in Canada. Have a great time!
"with a bit of French flair" ??? QUÉBEC CITY IS VERY, VERY FRENCH. I JUST LOVE IT.
Merci!
Thanks
Thank you very much for making this video, I can´t wait to go there.
Yes,I hope is going to be great. Take care and keep the good work! :)
nice city to visit, I was there recently
Another good video about my city, you guys definitely love our city. Thanks for promoting it!!!
+Samuel & Audrey Except Quebecois are not Canadians.. Canada is not our country. Quebec was stolen from us and we are still fighting for our nation. This is a fight for our children and all future generations of French Quebecois.
I am going to learn french (a fourth language) just to visit Quebec.
I'm going there on the weekend i think, and i am really exited! :D
I've never been before and it looks so pretty and peaceful :)
I live in Québec and I'm about to go to Québec city soon with my class and I speak both French AND English (mostly English but fluent French)
thanks
nice video
well my gf live in quebec and im actully planing to visit it really nice place with nice peoples :D
@2:37 a hotel designed by an American. Wow, impressive.
Quebec City is an amazing city with a lot of character. We speak French even if we were conquered by the English a long time ago. Thanks for promoting the city.
Conquered by the English a long time ago xD your french ass deserves it.
Quebec City in February is a must for the Winter Carnival. Very cold so bring extra warmth tools. My family of 5 enjoyed themselves. The cobble stone streets are very slippery in the winter time so be careful.
+Samuel & Audrey its tradition also to have warm Caribou wine during the festivals along with some good poutine
I like these guys....they do a good job, obviously the guy 'married up'.....CCC
Monsieur René has been there for years!
Hey guys! Great videos! We are coming from Australia to visit Toronto, Montreal as well as Quebec City and wanted to know how much French we should know as we are both English speakers.
TheObsessedGardener That is cool! Actually you'll be able to get by just fine with English in Montreal and Quebec City. Anything you do know will be appreciated but both cities are used to dealing with many English speaking only Canadians and Americans.
I’m visiting at the end of october! Cant wait! Are there still going to be any fall colors by chance?
What you didn’t even mention the statue of Champlain nor the Salvador Dolly elephant sculpture. Great video other wise of a very lovely city with warm and inviting people.
So many great places have been left out! What about Saint-Joseph Street, le Jardin de Saint-Roch, Université Laval, Promenade de Champlain, the Imperial Theater, Limoilou, and so on?
Any suggestions as to a good map that would show the locations of your 10 musts? Do you know where the cruise ships normally docks? Thanks again.
Seriously the most canadian accents I've ever heard!
We have an accent cost to cost I mean from Newfoundland to British Columbia. Not like British or Aussie
Are there any RV parks nearby. Also can you get around well by car.
Basse Ville, Musée de la Civilisacion, le Citadelle...
"a bit of French flair"
SAM. Jesus.
Very beautiful Le'vis city, QC ! I love it very much ! Majority of the people are French?
Any hotels you recommend that its not too expensive , and places to eat as well ?, Tx!
What hotel / motel would you suggest staying for a long weekend $200 - $250 per night?
My suggestion would be to check on booking dot com and airbnb for both hotels and apartments as sometimes you'll find a better deal with a hotel and other times and apartment. The more you can search in advance the more options you'll likely have.
also if the day is hot you can go to the village vacance valcartier who is 30 minute away from the city and is one of the biggest water park in north america
in your opinion,is starting september a nice time to go to quebec?,I mean about busy and weather
Yeah, that would be ideal actually. Not quite as hot or as crowded then. Likely hotels would be cheaper as well.
Nicely made video. What sort of editing software did you use?
Thanks! This is a bit of an older video, but now we use Final Cut Pro X.
@@samuelandaudrey Thanks for the answer. How would you compare Final Cut Pro with Adobe Premiere?
Oh man. Pretty city. Do you guys have one on Vancouver? You have so many vlogs it's hard to find them. I think it would be better if you grouped them by continent in the playlists, because you guys jump all over the globe do they're all mixed up and there's too many to sort through.
Thank you! Unfortunately, nothing from Vancouver. I'm really due for a visit sometime soon. I'm from Vancouver Island so I really want to visit my home province soon.
Oh sweet. I'm guessing this is Sam, cuz Audrey said she's from Quebec.
I've only been to Vancouver island once, but I've been to Vancouver like 8 times. I got family there. There's a lot of Polish people in Vancouver.
I want to go there this fall. Is it very cold in October and will I have a communication barrier since we dont speak french?
Should be lovely in the fall Rebecca! Um, I think you'll find most people working in tourism will speak some English.
Thanks for the excellent video + music. I'm going to be there in October on cruise for 1 1/2 days. Now my challenge is to figure out the easiest way to get from #1 to #2 etc. Thanks again. Any tips for getting around appreciated. 😀
+Tom Barton Thank you! That's exciting. To get around the city you can walk most places and anywhere that seems a little too far can be reached by taxi or public bus.
only prob with quebec is they too happy, i love going but they just too happy i love it cause they love me as i love them
IM VISITING QUBEC
Nice video, new subscriber here :D Quebec City looks so beautiful! Just wondering if there's English speakers in the city?
+Danny Fenty Thank you! Yeah, you can totally get by with English but a bit of French is definitely appreciated.
Thanks guys, you are my fav travel channel now, I think I watched 20+ of your videos, keep them coming 😊😁
Danny Fenty There is both english and French but Québec is mostly made for French people
i went to quebec city for 1 and a half and it took 3 hours to drive back to montreal
You didn't mention how steep the city streets are in Old Quebec City? I was really tired after a day of hiking around there. NB: The Plains of Abraham are not a Plain. It is rather hilly. I suspect that most of the fighting actually took place on the Flatter Area toward René Levesque St. The current Park was actually the fortified area; which the lightly armed British Soldiers would likely avoid. These old fortifications were buried which causes the hilly terrain.
Norman McKinnon you're right about it being very steep! We ended up taking a long afternoon siesta because we were so knackered.
It’s funny when Canadians say it gets hot. 25 degrees Celsius isn’t that hot lolol. Try low 28 high 40 after humidity. Great video though cheers from Charleston sc.
Celab Williams It’s funny when Americans say it gets cold. -1 degrees Celsius isn’t that cold lolol. Try low -40 high -60 after wind chills. Cheers from Toronto (which isn’t that cold compared to Quebec)
I'm confused... the guards at the Citadelle are speaking French, but they are dressed in English uniforms! Didn't expect that! Very interesting. And a great video, by the way! I really hope to visit there sometime soon.
+R. H. Hewitt That was quite an interesting new take on history... lol When the americans came to invade Canada, they started by quebec, thinking they would be welcomed by the french as liberator against the british oppressors. (But to the french, the americans were the same as the british. Just some more english people.) So the french canadians immediately engaged and faced them as enemies. Thus, ending America's plan to invade.
"We ended up burning their white house in the end." Teehee
The towering restaurant is not mentioned. Where is it? And what's it called
Julia Clarke Le concorde with the restaurant on the top which is called : Ciel.
That's my school I go to call Citadelle but is a French school
their pronunciation is killing me!! A+ for trying tho
rdbrooks neither am I! haha I guess I've been in Quebec for too long :)
Were asians(filipinos) my family and of course me will be there in like 1 or 2 yrs and hopefully live there forever haha. we are very very excited were just waiting for the visa and very looking forward to be in quebec. So hows the communication between the locals and the newcomers? And is there a wifi out there? Just askin thanks :)
is it hard to communicate with the locals or those people living out there?
this gave me club penguin vibes
I'm just looking on how to get lucky if u know what I mean..
viva Quebec
I'm from America and want to VISIT ( I supported Trump so I'm not moving ) Canada. I'd like to visit Montreal.
That's cool to hear! Yeah, a nice trip would be to visit both Quebec City and Montreal.
The English translation is "In the city of Quebec, a great number of parents ignore traffic laws with their children and many of these parents are civil servants. Youth in Quebec deserve law-abiding, ethical and conscientious civil servants. Their future depends upon it. Let's double traffic fines in this capital city and watch law-abiding streets and adults appear. The Road Safety Office, at the World Health Organization, feels that law-abiding streets and highways are long overdue in Canada. What do you think?"
Please SEE Chateau Frontenac. But don't dine there.

Lovely, stunning capital city. Did you know, that many of the parents in Quebec city ignore traffic laws with their children and that many of these parents are civil servants? Youth in Quebec deserve law-abiding, ethical and conscientious, streets and communities in their capital city. Their future depends upon it. Let's double traffic fines in Quebec City and watch law-abiding streets and adults appear. Imagine!
Did you know that Quebec has the lowest accident rate (pedestrian-car) in Canada?
Weird to see French in English uniforms...

I made a video about 10 things you should know about the province of Québec. Go check it out! ua-cam.com/video/DybbMdNBE7U/v-deo.html
Joe Déry What a wonderful province! My favorite in Canada side from BC where I am from :)
We'll I'm bored.
@@samuelandaudrey after watching this Video, we came here from yesterday. But it's boring. Sorry to tell you this. All I can see are buildings and a small falls. I only enjoyed in the History telling of the man in the cruise ship about Quebec. But still good.
Point of entry personnel were so rude that we crossed the border into Quebec and turned around and crossed back into USA after only an hour. We felt uncomfortable.
