I think this song is based on platos theory of the allegory of the cave. Which is basically about prisoners trapped in a cave and have never seen the outside world, only seeing 'shadows on the wall' cast by fires from torches (flame), believing that this is all to existence and nothing else. Then one day a prisoner escapes and gets out of the cave, realising that there was more to just the cave and experiences the outside world for the first time. He runs to the other prisoners and tells them but they remained skeptical and were 'just too comfortable in chains.' I think what it's trying to say is that there is more to life and reality than what meets the eye and what's right in front of us, but our ignorance and us being conditioned to just think outside the box (our metaphorical chains) restricts us from doing so. Some people manage to escape the cave and others do not, don't be passive minded, escape the cave.
Cold fire feeling, is the cold fire feeling in my bones Skylines breathing as the sun lies beating down the door I'm tired of watching the shadows on the wall My eyes are foreseeing The shackles open, we're finally free to bolt If you're done with believing Hold my flame and set alight Hold my fire screaming inside Hold my flame and set alight Hold my fire screaming inside out Hold my flame and set alight Hold my fire screaming inside Hold my flame and set alight Hold my fire screaming inside out Found true meaning, now my head starts spinning out the cave You won't come with me cause you're just too comfortable in chains I'm tired of watching the shadows on the wall My eyes are foreseeing The shackles open, we're finally free to bolt If you're done with believing Hold my flame and set alight Hold my fire screaming inside Hold my flame and set alight Hold my fire screaming inside out Hold my flame and set alight Hold my fire screaming inside Hold my flame and set alight Hold my fire screaming inside out (Oh oh oh, oh oh oh, oh oh oh, oh oh oh, oh oh oh)
The lead singer is oscar pollock. We were at oratory school together at a point even though he was my senior by three years haha. He was my house captain at Faber house such a nice lad ! Always let me play GTA on his xbox 😂
i actually like this video, the imagery and cinematography is really graceful and fits the music a little better. the meaning behind the previous video was a little obvious, and it's been touched on before.
I always thought Sundara Karma's lead was pretty, but I just now saw, for the first time, a picture of Oscar Pollock not wearing a shirt-wow!-sooo beautiful!
Collette Post - I thought that too, similar voice/sound to Blossoms "Charlemagne" though I personally can't hear Mark Owens sound but that maybe something to do with the fact that Mark has a strong Lancashire accent whereas Oscar Pollock is from Berkshire, but music is subjective - we all hear different things so there's no right or wrong answers! Though I'm pleased that I'm not the only person who hears Blossoms!
So I was today at Manchester, looking at some vinyls at hmv store and this band was going to play there like in 15 min. But I had no idea who they where, so now I'm here listening to their music and fuck..... I think I missed something amazing. :( Kind of sad right now
i LIVE for this line: "You won't come with me cause you're just too comfortable in chains"

Anne Summers lol, you a philly major, or just an internet dweller with surface knowledge?
you think? sorry, but it's tremendously obvious
Good analysis
@@marco.nascimento I agree it's spelled out very clearly. Maybe some people don't listen to song lyrics so closely...
@@madisonhealey or maybe they major in engineering?
I adore this band with every bit of my soul. I honestly have no idea if I'd be able to go on everyday without this music.

I have no idea how this song ended up in my Spotify playlist but boy am I glad it did
Shoutout to the burning man, amazing job!
Cold fire feeling, is the cold fire feeling in my bones
Skylines breathing as the sun lies beating down the door
I'm tired of watching the shadows on the wall
My eyes are foreseeing
The shackles open, we're finally free to bolt
If you're done with believing
Hold my flame and set alight
Hold my fire screaming inside
Hold my flame and set alight
Hold my fire screaming inside out
Hold my flame and set alight
Hold my fire screaming inside
Hold my flame and set alight
Hold my fire screaming inside out
Found true meaning, now my head starts spinning out the cave
You won't come with me cause you're just too comfortable in chains
I'm tired of watching the shadows on the wall
My eyes are foreseeing
The shackles open, we're finally free to bolt
If you're done with believing
Hold my flame and set alight
Hold my fire screaming inside
Hold my flame and set alight
Hold my fire screaming inside out
Hold my flame and set alight
Hold my fire screaming inside
Hold my flame and set alight
Hold my fire screaming inside out
(Oh oh oh, oh oh oh, oh oh oh, oh oh oh, oh oh oh)

i actually like this video, the imagery and cinematography is really graceful and fits the music a little better. the meaning behind the previous video was a little obvious, and it's been touched on before.
Bailey Zinck I think the video needed to be obvious for those that don't know the song is based on the cave analogy
that's a fair point
Bailey Zinck thank you for the most civil and conclusive conversation I've ever had on UA-cam :)

Ratio
Sounds like Mark Owen meets Blossoms
Collette Post - I thought that too, similar voice/sound to Blossoms "Charlemagne" though I personally can't hear Mark Owens sound but that maybe something to do with the fact that Mark has a strong Lancashire accent whereas Oscar Pollock is from Berkshire, but music is subjective - we all hear different things so there's no right or wrong answers!
Though I'm pleased that I'm not the only person who hears Blossoms!
