I recently started getting into beach volleyball from playing indoor, and this channel has been super inspiring, thanks!

I’m actually glad the team with the annoying ass fan base lost.

Wow just a brutal run at the end, was pretty close throughout. Winning team made so many lazy errors they probably could have won by a lot more however

I guess they don't call throws anymore.... that was brutal.

if you’re referring to the questionable set in the beginning, it was fine. Rules have changed recently to not rely on spin to be an indicator anymore. It WAS close, but still acceptable. Regardless, it’s the refs call to make :/

@@milesstump6581 The ref made the incorrect call since it was SO bad the other team stopped playing (which goes against your assertion that the rules have changed) ... true, you should always play it out, but the mere fact they stopped indicates how bad it was... It wasn't close. It was a bad call. Luckily it didn't affect the outcome. The better team won and deserved it.

Just because the other team thinks it wasn't good doesn't make them correct in their assessment. You think the ref made an incorrect call because you think it was bad. You don't have the same viewing angle the ref does, so perhaps he saw something you or I didn't. Calling it a throw indicates the ball was redirected in some way. The ball wasn't redirected in his hands, he didn't hold it for long enough to call it a carry. Think it's hard to call it a throw. I think most people would call a double based on the spin, but that's not an indicator of a double, just a contributing factor after looking at other things (like amount of time in the setters hands, travel distance and even wrist breakage). Again, I see your point, but I don't think you or the other team is correct in calling that a bad set. This is subjective especially in the comments section, so think we should just agree to disagree here. @@greggibson33

@@milesstump6581anyone with half a brain can see that there were multiple bad sets. Implying that refs can’t be wrong and defending blatantly obvious bad sets/missed calls just makes you sound dumb.

    They played till 28?

    • @lucianlandry8332

CBVA 2023 rulebook 7.2 permits 1 game to 28 points to win a match, as an alternative to the normal best 2 out of 3/first 2 games to 21/third game to 15 if necessary. I've never played to 28 but I guess it's a thing. Maybe to keep the matches moving in a tournament.

Is it just me or do all these power stations in Hermosa, El Segundo, and Huntington ruin the beach appeal

don’t need to be rude. Having played AA in different areas, the skill level changes. Assuming you’re an athlete that plays AA or above or you’re just a jerk

Observe how much wind they're dealing with. That'll drop the level of play REAL QUICK. When I used to play AA (5 years ago) the wind quickly brought my AA down to a solid A. @@greggibson33
