I was born in 83. I've heard of the Thorn Birds, it's my mom favourite film. I was 27 when i have watched it for the first time. I was like lightning strucked by Richard's beauty. Those eyes,those lips, everything about him is gorgeous. How i envy Rachel for having the chance to kiss him,to be near to him. Each time i watch it feels like the first time. I'm always left heartbroken and wishing for another end.. I truly think that is the best series ever to be created .
I wonder if she knew the truth about his sexual preferences. Maybe you could look him up on the net. If she knew it then about him then she truly is a good actress.
I think the 2nd Racheal in the 2nd series new he prefered men to women! That's why there wasn't much chemistry between them! .some people just can't do it be it for there religious believes or other!

So much sadness is true. I have a part of Ralph the church will never have. Then Dane becomes a priest & drowns trying to save someone. I love this movie so much I got 2 copies. And for me there's a bonus in the movie. I also had a crush on Earl Holliman since I was 9 & he was in a short lived tv show with Andrew Prime called Wide Country.

This was such a beautiful, and yet forbidden love. The poem of the Thorn Birds fit so evenly with this mini series. The cast was remarkably outstanding. Richard Chamberlain is such a handsome and gifted actor. Rachel Ward is so beautiful, and accomplished actor. They were perfectly matched for their parts. How very dearly I wish TV would bring back that mini series, The Thorn Birds. This was the BEST OF THE BEST. Truly it was!!!!!!!!

People used to go on about Gone With the Wind being the greatest love story of all time, on film, but the chemistry between Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh was NOTHING to the chemistry between Richard Chamberlain and Rachel Ward in this mini series. This to me is the greatest pure, love story on film.
This is the sort of love we all aim and hope for.

Magnifique interprétation qui correspond très bien au thème . Richard Chamberlain et Rachel Ward sont sublimes. Cette magnifique histoire d amour je ne m en lasserai jamais. J ai la nostalgie de ce film que je regarde régulièrement chez moi. Même n etant qu un film, ce sont des faits qui se réalisent certainement en notre époque. Quel merveilleux amour ils ont éprouvé l un pour l autre et qui malheureusement se termine en tragédie. Le vrai amour est un sentiment unique et splendide que seul notre cœur peut conduire.
