The design team allocated the incredibly limited funds available to important, performance-related factors, like the frame, engine, aerodynamics, minimum weight. Not a lot of bucks left for the interior. A massive redesign that produced a great performance car for its time.
Wasn’t knocking the car at all. One of the best bangs for the buck no doubt. But it’s a dumbass bolt pattern, that is for sure! So many good wheels are not even options because of this random bolt pattern.
Finding wheels is deff a nightmare for these cars if you want something different then everyone else lol. I did go the custom route and it was deff worth it! It’s nice knowing I have wheels no c5 in the world has!
I don't have a C5 yet, but I'll give my replies. The wheel well gap is fine. It looks great as it is, and you don't want to scrape going over speed bumps or up certain driveways. Get C6 wheels and call it a day. Check out OE wheels in Florida. And what's wrong with the center console? Too small? Anyway, I can't wait to see the cam video.
Only c6 wheels I like are the GS wheels and they don’t look great on the c5. Aside from that 98% of c5s have c6 wheels-I’m not doing that lol. This is lowered all the way down on the stock bolts-the wheel gap is not fine 😂 it’s not terrible, but we need to perfect the stance. Just wait and see!!
First, I thoroughly endorse getting either a C5 or C6 Z06 if you can find one for a good deal, just be careful with the LS-7's propensity for eating valves. Second, would a thin bead of silicone RTV along the length of the top's weatherstrip bolster the sealing a little better?
I dont know. As a c5 owner i can relate, but not really. I got corbeau seats , aftermarket radio, new carpet, removable steering wheel ,shocks from a c6 z06 , new wheels that i think look good (forgot the brand). For m3 the interior is what needed a few things changed. Now just saving my pennies for a new paint job , because my wrap pulled the clear off.
You sort of proved my point lol if the seats were good, you wouldn’t need Corbeaus. My issue is that I actually like the factory receipts. I just wish they wouldn’t tear so easily. But overall, I love the car
@@SpeedCultureStudios tbh the seats were good , but the new seats make the car look sooooo much better. It's like bringing it up to modern spec. Even corvette people like the way it looks , and they are a picky bunch . Dang now that I think about it , I probably spent c6 money on the c5 😂. If you have sm , I can send you pictures of the interior.
Love the C5 content from your channel big guy. Time for you to invest in a little wireless Rode mic though so we don't have to turn our volume up to hear you from 20 feet away :)
@@tixu2803 I did get the question. This is not a convertible. That leaves only one other possibility. I showed and mentioned the targa top in the video. You can also see that it is not a fixed roof coupe because of the shape of the roofline.
Pettiness? It’s not petty to want a wider range of wheel options lol. 5x120.65 is the weirdest bolt pattern ever. For everything that Chevy did right with the Vette, the bolt pattern is absolutely stupid.
Bro i own 2 C5 Convertibles.. I bought the factory bolt pattern in a black rim. Then I had them custom painted to a bad ass red/chrome color combination. I get compliments all the time now 💯 just buy 4 new rims with the correct bolt pattern & have them painted to your taste..
Your wheel complaint is also petty. I see so many great looking wheels on the C5. I like the factory wheels that came on the 01-04 vettes, the 5 spoke?
Check out E5 wheels. Just got some for my c6 Z06 on fitment industry’s. I didn’t realize before buying this car that trying to find wheels was gonna be such a bitch
After 19 years of owning a C5, I’ve never talked to another owner of a C5 that complains about a leaking removable top! Wow, this is the most nit-picking C5 video I’ve ever seen. 😏
Nit picking? 😂 You’ve probably never talked to anyone that actually drives the car-just always in the garage or only driven on sunny days. What else was nit-picked? You think the seat design is good? I’m sure you love every aspect of every vehicle you’ve owned, right
@@SpeedCultureStudios I’m fairly sure you must own the cars you “review.” You just do your ridiculous reviews for entertainment purposes, and the only one you actually entertain is yourself. Clearly, this is why you have so few subscribers…. Nobody wants to subject themselves to your drivel. 😒
Kid, take a minute and go convert 120.65mm to inches. Then take that number and see what year that bolt pattern started. Also, whenever you're crying about materials quality, go find another stock car for low $ teens money and let me know when you find something faster.
Ok kid - 5x4.75 - not a good bolt pattern for wheel selection. No one smart would deny the bang for the buck in the c5 - but it doesn’t mean everything is perfect lol
Went looking for a C5 Corvette, came home with a Dodge Viper...
Mission failed successfully.
Wow that’s awesome!
@@SpeedCultureStudios don't worry, the C5 Z06 is coming next fall/winter. Best deals happen when people don't want to store them another winter!
@@fundamentallybroken4194 that is factual! However, prices are surprisingly low right now.

ComeOnMan.......For a 22 year old car. It's still a great Sportscar. That will not take you to the poor house in repair cost.

New seats and a different shift knob makes a big difference. I got used to the pillow steering wheel in mine

Open to try any trick to seal the top a bit better!
Apex EC7 are a great choice! I’m looking at getting them in bronze square setup

JUST PUT 18" IN FRONT AND 19" IN THE REAR AND IT LOOKS GREAT
Likely what I’ll be doing as well

Had to use the GoPro for this vid and the mic sucks-didn’t think it sucked this bad
Does the ceiling only leak on the convertible??
I don’t know about the convertible. I’m sure the fixed roof coupe stays dry though

Not necessarily worried about the color. It’s the design availability. Custom route really seems like the only option.

It’s not petty. There are like 4 wheel designs available-and they are all ugly. Chevy did a terrible job with wheels until the c6

I’ll take a look. Thanks!
Where is the q50 ?
Sold a long time ago!
CHEAP INTERIOR
Definitely could be better!
The c5 was meant to be a very light, good looking engine on wheels and the interior was definitely an after thought 😊
How about some new paint? That would probably help your car the most.
The paint in the best thing on this car
love my C5😎
Such a good car!
Your wheel gap complaint is petty. Such a minor thing. Put spacers & lower it and voila. 👍
