Really hits you right in the nostalgic feels when the SMW theme kicks in. Probably because you're not really expecting it at first, but damn. What a masterful integration of two iconic Mario themes.
I haven't played this game since I was about 8 - the disc got super scratched up and I could never play it again. I got the chance to play it again at my Uncle's house. Almost brought me to tears with this track. Those were the good days.
SPM would almost work better on the Switch than TTYD because of its similar motion controls that the Wii had, even a port using the 3D All Stars Wii emulator would be enough
It’s most likely not gonna get remade considering a lot of people want Nintendo to go back to the first 2 formulas. If they remade Super next they’re basically going back to a loop.
This song represents this game's whole deal perfectly. On the surface, it's as traditional as Mario can be, but as soon as you go beyond the first impression, it starts deconstructing everything, *flipping* it on it's head, and taking the most basic conventions of 'Mario' in such a different direction that hadn't been done before, or since. It's an extremely *UN*-Mario thing, perfectly disguised as *SUCH* a stereotypical Mario thing. Everything I just said can describe both the song and the game. That's what I find so brilliant about this being the "Level 1" music in this game.
I love how you can tell that it's a remix of the original Mario ground theme, but it still feels different enough to the point where it's basically a new song.
Playing OrigamiKing to prepare for TTYD remake and I got insane nostalgia for this game recently because it was the first PM game I ever played.... good times.... everytime i think about this game this theme represents it for me.
This is genuinely my favorite athletic theme in the Mario series
same
Mine too!
Same
Isn’t it the overworld theme? This is one of my favorites too! Loved how it has SMB1 and SMW leitmotif
"I feel the Pure Heart. But it's still far from here..."

song that plays when your childhood was amazing and will never be forgotten

OMG the same happened to me!! I got another copy last year and it was an EXPERIENCE playing again!
I'll be truly ecstatic if Super Paper Mario got the same treatment as The Thousand-Year Door! 😄
Im praying to god it does. The new switch gen need to play this masterpiece

@@MusuemBucket maybe something with SPM's overall game design but with some turn based battles, maybe for bosses would work well
@@sumisusan1517 Yeah but for many fans, that would seem jarring for them and overall will make them pass on the remake if it exists
The fact that this game is 17 years old feels weird
We’re all getting old
Damn
The chimes make it sound like Christmas music🎅
Having ADHD high on sugar as a kid was perfect for this
ネネチニャン
Relatable
Such a freaking bop of a 1-1 theme.

COME. OUT.SIDE. IT'S TIME TO DO THE MARIO
I love listening to the lovely music of the SPMOST
The song can lives in my head, rent free.
The vibes are on point with this one.

Never thought about the motif of bells and chimes throughout the game's OST, but it makes sense story-wise
I'm feeling so retro right now
SO HI-TECHNICAAAAAAAL
This song is like a refreshing gulp of Dr. Pepper that perks you up and makes you feel alive for a short time

Same bro. The only paper mario games ive played (through legitimate means) were this and oragami king
@@Popcoolman123 I'm lucky to have most of them physically, I'm just missing 64 and TTYD but I can atleast play both on the Switch now.
The only time the SMB1 Mario theme has ever been top tier. And its in the 2nd best game of all time
Third time, the Sunshine version is a top tier ost too, so as the Original..
@@nelsongood3480 fair enough

I will only say this: Let's-a fricking go!
The first level hits hard for nostalgia
