Thank you so much for sharing Lytmi TV backlight! I loved it so much.. ❤ Will be getting 2 sets for our existing flat under going full renovation next month. I was completely clueless about smart home initially, but got lots of help from your videos. 👍
nice, do get their latest model that support hdmi 2.1
@@AlexTeoYup.. Definitely... 1 set for my old LG 65" smart 4k tv bought long ago & the other is thinking of getting TCL C845 75" Google TV, still waiting for new stock to come into Singapore. Reno only to be completed in November 2023, total makeover from Country to Japandi design. Again, can't thank you enough... 👍
Wow! 1000 pax entered the lottery! Hahaha Hi Alex! So happy to see your video & it happens that I was buying Ikea GU10 smart bulbs + the gateway for my very first setup of my home lightings when your video notifications popped up!
I didn't replace all my current GU10 bulbs but just those that I want/need to have remote control & dimming & it's been an exhilarating + kinda tiring (i.e. climbing up & down to change out the lights & pairing it to the Ikea remote before realizing how dense I was to not just link remote to gateway & from within google home set the linked remote to the control the group of bulbs!) Can't wait to gradually switch out all the lights to these same bulbs; I have all my home lights using track lights on GU10 when I did the reno (mine is a resale unit so gotta factor more budget for essential Reno works). Initially it all comes with Phillips GU10 & I kinda consciously decided on track lights for my personal preference + having plans to switch to smart bulbs at some point when my household members dynamics changes i.e. parents still with me hence I need the physical remote to allow them the ease of using the dimming feature (+ need to save up the budget la ... Hahaha).
Oops, I digressed! I wanted to tell you how coincidental that this video of yours indirectly answered a question that I had while I was setting up my smart lightings: how do you turn normal home appliances like fans, air-con, into smart devices! Maybe coz I couldn't get it when watching your previous video but this time round I finally could! Though this IR/RF blaster will have to wait... Still, thank you for all the great videos & sharing! I do notice that your study/work room seems to be your entertainment room? Can't wait for your next video!
wow thanks for sharing your current updates. You got buy the round ikea dimmer switch?
The entertainment room has been re-purposed into a gamer office haha
first to comment! haha. thanks for putting out another great video. I now have to get this bond bridge
haha didn't expect to have 'first' type of comments for my videos
Anxious to see the new home office Alex!
yeah I am currently still considering whether to replace the desk
@@AlexTeo Cool, you have a nice setup!
Thank you for hosting the giveaway! :)
The Lytmi look amazing😍 love to have one of it
remember to get the new hdmi 2.1 ver
Congrats on all the winners! too bad no Homekit support :(
can always get philips hue haha
The light make watching movie more exciting
yup 100%, i love it!
Great review as always. I still prefer the LED strip from Yeelight as it's also plug and play and can integrate with the whole Yeelight ecosystem in my home. Btw what TV are you using now Alex?
Hi Alex, for the tv back light. Let’s say I follow your instruction of plugging in the HDMI cable to my tv and plugging in to the sync box. Will Netflix and Disney plus have the back light ??
you have to watch from the target device and not from the tv, eg. watching from apple tv, PS5..
sad that I didn't win the gift, but, great video nonetheless! can't wait for the wifi 6 videos
yeah I am excited to do that video too
thank you
After installing with my SingTel Tv box the TV keeps stuttering, what could be the issue?
hmm no idea, do you have other devices to test and try isolate the problem
Near now has a RF/IR blaster do you think it will work like bond bridge?
Nope it wont be able to control somfy shades as well as my laundry rack
can i assume in your video, your input device is your PS5? So using netflix/youtube within my PS5 will work with Lytmi?
Yes via ps5 will work
Hey alex, I've been watching and enjoying your videos! And I got the lytmi because of you! But I cant seem to sync it to the tv. The led works fine tho. I tried contacting lytmi but to no avail.
what device you are connecting via?
If I have multiple same model airconds, is the IR/RF blaster smart enough to control only one of them at a time?
I think if you can use the same aircon remote to turn on all your aircon, the IR blaster only mimic the remote but instead of you pointing the remote at that specific aircon, the IR blaster will send the same signal 360degree out and whichever aircon in range will receive it.
if there are so near each other, you are probably switching both on and off as well using the physical remote? That's the nature of Infrared, you will have to strategically position 1 IR to 1 aircon
Hi Alex. Good evening. Do you have any ceiling fan with light brand to share? On budget
I think fanco is cheap n gd
@@AlexTeo thank you
I’m thinking of getting the light sync with desktop.
Question:
1. does lytmi works on desktop pc monitor ? If yes, how to setup so the color will auto change accordingly to the game or movie watch on desktop ?
2. Comparing to govee immersion, is lytmi brightness and any slow respond to it ?
1. 2 ports on the sync box - 1 port connect to your monitor 1 port connect to your desktop graphics card
2. no lag or delay since its not based on camera
@@AlexTeo thanks !
Hi Alex
Do you still use it and like it a month later?
yup love both of them
Hi Alex, do you have any recommendations for smart mirrors? Saw it from one of your other video but didn't hear you talk much about it. Care to share more info on it? Thanks!
didn't quite go deep into that, basically depend what features you like, some even have a bluetooth speaker function
Hi Alex, if Im watching a video directly from a plugged in external hardisk to the TV will the Lytmi HDMI Sync Box lights work? Or I have to go with Govee?
Go with govee
Hey Alex.. I am new to smart home..
I am staying in a 4 room flat. Do I need to buy 4 bond to link all 4 room’s appliance (ie aircon, ceiling fan and lights) or the bond is actually a main piece and I just get 3 more IR controller from a different brand?
Or just 1 bond can control the whole house as they advertise their range at 2500 sqft?
the range is usually limited by the device not the controller actually.. IR requires line of sight so depends on your requirements
Hi Alex, do you know if bond bridge works with somfy motors for ziptrak?
not 100% sure but I don't see a reason it won't, you can try checking here, bondhome.io/supported-devices/
Hi Alex, do you know if RF fans signal might be encrypted?
I tried a cheap RF Blaster before, but i cant control my ceiling fans (EFenz). So not sure if this Bond Bridge can work before I purchase it to try.
unlikely, i think you can make use of amazon return policy if it doesn't work for you
So the lytmi sync box doesnt work with tv apps? Is there a way to make the tv apps work? :(
use a google chromecast or amazon firestick
Hi! for the brand NEAR IR blaster as compared to BOND Bridge IR blaster, which is better? mainly I just want to control my ceiling fan and AC. which would u recommend? Thanks!
Near IR can only do IR while Bond can do both. AC is definitely IR but ceiling fan can be either, you have to check yours
Can I check for the backlight, if I am just watching from the tv without any box, will that work with the backlit following the content from tv like Netflix Disney etc. anyway awesome content, really help me a lot as I am a first house buyer
nope as mentioned for HDMI sync box, it needs a HDMI input source
@@AlexTeo thanks for the reply as I will be using just the smart tv app and output. So does this mean govee is my best option? Any place for a reliable source for me to purchase? Tks
@@dyerlee2791 you can go with synced by district, local company with storefronts

My ceiling fans have different frequency. Do you think it works? I have a broadlink rm Pro but it doesn't work due to wrong frequency 423Mhz
i don't see how it won't work, for broadlink you can't manually adjust the frequency?
@@AlexTeo Broadlink only supports 315 and 433Mhz.
@@abcVegeBreads hmm you did try manually putting 423?
