Bev, it is quite an ominous place! And, it's in such a quiet area, I'm sure it'd be a wild experience after dark. Sean indicated that he primarily uses candle light in the evening. I'm sure that would only add to the look and feel of the place. The Ryans were wonderful hosts. And, since he didn't dicky up the castle like many of the touristy castles, it has a real genuine feel to it. I loved every minute of it!
The Ryans are accepted by the spirits of Leap. I truly hope they indeed stop the thrill seekers, skeptics and obsessives from entering their home.A security measure if nothing else.As my dear father so often said '' do not be afraid of the dead,it is the living you have to worry about''. The Ryans deserve privacy.
Such a creepy place! After listening to a live radio show from Leap Castle me and my friends decided to check it out... by the time we even got there it was dark (we got lost a few times lol) soooo so creepy! Plus the fact that I am soooo terrified of ghosts and stuff like that. I was full on in shock after going... on the way home to Dublin I just burst into tears ha!
Hi I am working on my video/blog, was just wondering if you would allow me to use some of your footage about this place! :) Of course will put you in credits. Many thanks in advance! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Regards, Christina
I went there, and it was.. Really scary. We talked to Sean and everything and he gave us the background history and he talked about the ghost. While I was exploring the castle with my cousin, my mom said she heard a bunch of voices speaking at once, and then a really loud bang. Sean had said that ghosts communicate with him sometimes by making a lot of noises all at once before my mom even experienced it. And also, when I was recording different parts of the castle my phone just shut off
I was at LEAP CASTLE 2 days ago, it is an eerie place....I think the Ryan family no longer allows visitors though, we made several attempts to contact them and received no response. It is a scary place......
@HowzUrSister86 It's a great place and Sean is a fantastic host. Do some reading about the Darby's and the history of the area. He's wildly educated on it all and it will make for a great discussion.
I'm adding to that other comment I made. So when your phone shuts off in a haunted area, it's said that ghosts are feeding off the phones energy, and my iPhone had 100% battery. My mom had also taken a picture of the castle outside, and it came out as if the castle was bending over and we have no idea how..
i want to go to leap* castle too. it is a hreat place where alot of phenomenon happens but theres no way im going near the obbliett thing its really scary, everything just goes off when someones in there.
Met Sean down at the craine a few times
..sure he'd never remember me but I sure remember his music and the nights I spent there..

Hat's off to Sean. A poetic guy who is preserving Irish history and brave as Braveheart, ok, he was a Scot but you get the idea ;)
