We bought the first 2011 60''/31 Super Z in our County after looking at John Deere,Kubota,Dixie Chopper,Scag and a few others. We found that not only was this the best built but it is over built and it was most simple to use and has the least amount of plastic! And when you are spending over 10 Grand on a mower that's how it should be! We mow about 8 acres with it in about 2 1/2 hours. It use to take us about 4 hours to do it. Simply put Hustler makes one of the best Z's on the market today.

The 2011 SZ is very nice! But I must admit, I LOVE my '09 SZ too !! One of the best investments I've ever made.

@johndeeretech10 You're right... The Super Z is MUCH more of a machine. And has MUCH more of a Company to stand behind that machine.

Some say the Flex Forks affect cut, most don't, its how you drive the unit for the most part.

@HustlerTurfEquip it is nice to see the slipper piston pumps though in your super z's. i LOVE the park brake set up on the super z's. if there was one thing that deere would do different it would be that. i dont understand, however, why alot of manufacturers want to have some sort of wheel suspension. i understand user comfort, but if you have a wheel suspension that will throw off your level of cut. i get that if you are going slow it might help, but these machines arent meant to mow slow.

@231MasseyFerguson Very true and don't get me wrong I like John Deere but one thing I like about Hustler is all they make is mowers. And they stand behind what they make!

What do you think makes the z900's that much superior to the Super Z?

@MrFlatlander42 I have the "flex forks" on my Super Z... I demoed a new SZ without flex forks before I bought my SZ. I even got to use my SZ without the flex forks while the dealer ordered mine. Once I got them on there, I realized that it's a night and day difference. I will never take them off... Definately worth the extra money! As far as cut quality, it all depends on how hard you push or pull the drive handles while starting or stopping.

I really hope that this new ddeck is a step above the 54'' fas track deck, don't get me wrong I LOVE your machenes, but that deck really loves to leave it's streaks and requires constant scraping.
I really like the side deck bumper I have been wating for something like that for a long time.

@HustlerTurfEquip Yes, this is a correct statement.

@HustlerTurfEquip well first and for most, the deck. a fabricated deck just cant cut and proccess grass like a stamped deck. the stamped deck has a smoother underside for less clumping. and also the discharge hole on the 7iron is larger then the xr7. i have seen many head to head comparisons in the field and the cut quality of the 7iron is unmatched. also the iht type transmission on the z900 has alot less power loss as compared to a traditional pump and motor set up...

@HustlerTurfEquip could be a hassle. i wasnt trying to get mouthy or anything like that. just a few suggestions and reasons to my first comment. thank you for wanting to know my reasoning.

@HustlerTurfEquip it would be nice to see no wheel suspension and maybe an air ride seat suspension. and i do and dont like how low the center of gravity is. yes it is nice that it is low for hills and such, but when crossing water ways or ditches that can be a problem. that is where the higher center of gravity and wider stance on the deere is superior. and finally, i dont care for the height of cut selector. i would much rather turn a knob then remove a pin. i know this isnt a huge issue, but

wow johndeeretech10 you sure bleed green. I bet no matter what a competitior comes out with no matter how much better it is than a JD you will find some reason to post your opinion on why it's not as good. Have you cut side by side in all grass types around the country? And don't even start about the HyperDrive industrial grade pumps and motors vs the residential style intigrated transmissions the JD uses. The main reason JD sells is it's painted green and it's brand is sold at Dillards.
