It was the fact that the owner of the rottweiler let their dog walk without a leash, especially knowing that it is a more aggressive breed. That was simply disrespectful, irresponsible, and unforgivable. I can't believe someone would be so willingly negligent and then run away and not take responsibility!
They are the reason that so many bully breeds and more aggressive dog breeds are killed each year bc stupid owners decide to adopt dogs that they can't handle

@@deli3586 They were bred to have certain physical traits that make them look strong and agressive but personality is not the issue here, there are some breeds that were bred for hunting and you don't see that many cases of attacks because they're seen as family dogs and they usually have responsible owners. I've seen more agressive little dogs than anything else but no one cares /talks about it and no one bothers to train them cause they don't do much damage, but their owners are just as shitty as the owner of that dog that couldn't be bother to train his dog or put a leash on him in a public place...

    • @deli3586

@@Arithekiller no no the aggression I'm talking about is not personality based, these kind of dogs are bred where in a fight or flight situation, they will always choose fight 100% of the time.
That doesn't mean they can't be household pets, actually they make pretty good household pets bc of their need to protect.
But as we both know, channeled incorrectly, they can be very aggressive and sadly that's usually what's common.

Its terrifying when your dog is attacked. A year ago I was also walking my dog in a forrest where your dog had to be leashed and suddenly an off leash akita came towards us with the owner in the distance, we asked them to leash their dog but they said he is friendly. I made my dog sit behind me, and the akita came running for us. It went around me and started attacking my dog, my dog tried to flee and I couldnt hold the leash. So I jumped through the bushes to try and pull the dog of mine, thankfully a passerby helped me get the dog of while my dog was screaming the whole time in the end I just tried to lay over my dog so the akita couldnt get to her. All while the other owner just stood there and did nothing. I still have the scars from that day mentally and physically. My dog had to stay at the vet for 3 days because lf the injuries. She was terrified of other dogs for a year even the ones she knew from before it was heartbreaking. The only thing on my mind was saving my dog.

I feel you on this, I hope yours is better now. I was walking my three dogs with my sister and we got attacked by a lady's 2 bulldogs. She was very unapologetic, it was a good thing someone helped us. My great dane which I'm holding unto was a pup and it was his first walk, it left all three of my dogs still terrified from the incident. We are still trying to help them get over the fear of walking outside. It left my dog who really got pulled unable to walk on his leash.

That’s very disappointing to hear as an Akita owner myself. Akita owners should know they need to be EXTRA responsible and alert. I’m very sorry that happened to your dog. Believe it or not I’ve was on your end as well when my Akita was bitten by a large poodle who’s owners insisted it was friendly.

Akitas are known to be aggressive because they have a very strong willed personality. I ran into one with my 2 bulldogs yesterday and all it wanted to do was attack my dogs. Thank god it was on a leash but the owner didn’t stop the dog from running and lunging and snapping and yipping at us. That kind of aggressive behaviour needs immediate correction. Both my dogs are 80lbs, my youngest was off leash. I knew that Akita would attack if I let my dogs near it and my dogs would naturally defend themselves, but I would be blamed because of the size of my dogs. Funny to see people walking around 25lbs death machines and I have 2 huge dogs that weigh as much as I do who don’t have these problems.

This is not the case? I live in germany too and I have never had of the rule that a dog has to get training? With that logic a puppy could never leave the house..or a very abused older dog...

    • @mrskeksa
      @mrskeksa 3 роки тому +4

Fellow German here too 🙂 in certain regions (Bundesländern) you as the owner have to verify to adopt some breeds. It’s an examination about your knowledge to handle dogs and then max 6 months after getting the dog a practical exam, where you have to proof that you can handle your dog. But if you already had a dog for 2 years or so you don’t have to prove your knowledge.
The only cases you really have dogs, that need to pass a certain level of training are only cases with already aggressive dogs, which had some sort of “biting past”.
And on aggressive dogs and some kind of potentielly dangerous dogs (Listenhunde) like Rottweiler or Pittbulls the dog has to take an Charakter Exam (Wesenstest) to prove, that it isn’t aggressive. But which breed has to do this depends on the region.

We had a rottie for 11 yrs. My uncle has trained several k9 dogs when he was in service, and although our rottie was the sweetest and was trained properly, he was never ever off leash on a walk. He was trained to ignore dogs that bark at him and was socialized with most farm animals, but he still attacked a goat on one of the walks while he was on leash. I can't imagine owners being irresponsible of having their rottie off leash even if its properly trained. These dogs are very territorial and protective they can bite anyone if they feel odd.

I grew up with a dog who was friendly with everyone and everything (He grew up with a Goose and 2 cats). Six years old and i thought all dogs were like my dog. So i saw a Rottweiler outside my neighbours home. I went to try and pat it and it lunged at me and bit my face ( I still have the scars on my chin, corner of my eye and my forehead). I only remember running to my mother who was outside our home doing the gardening at the time and seeing her face when she saw blood running down my face. I dont remember anything else after that until i was out of hospital. I was so sad to have found out that the dog had been put down that it took me 26 years to be able to approach another Rottweiler again (With the owners consent). If someone said "ooh look. A Rottie!" I would try and stay as far as i can from it, not because i was scared of Rotties but because I didn't want to be responsible for possibly having another Rottweiler put down.

accept it or not, rottweilers are genetically aggressive. if you ever met a rottweiler that is gentle or loving, it doesn't mean that all of them are the same. every dog has different owners, different environment, different experiences, and different training. not because you have a good experience with them, you will also insist to others what you think they are. research first, before you speak. just by following your own emotion and perspective, you can get someone in danger.
that's why dog training is VERY important. not just for the rottweilers, but also for all the dogs. any dog can build aggression if you train them wrong, or doesn't train at all. having a dog is a HUGE responsibility.

So thankful Dart and his owner came out of the attack ok, the Rottweiler’s owner is so selfish and irresponsible. In the US, the Rottweiler would likely be taken away and possibly euthanized. Sadly it’s usually the owner’s fault for not training or leashing their aggressive dogs.

Never blame the dogs. Blame the owners for not making sure that their dogs are properly trained.
I have a Staffordshire terrier. I got her when she was 10 weeks old. I started training her right away.
She is now 4 years old and knows over 30 commands and some hand signals. She's the smartest dog I have ever had.
If people get a puppy, they should research the breed to make sure that they can actually handle that breed. Start training puppy as soon as you bring it in the home.
    Training pup is crucial!!
A puppy needs Stability just like a child. Look at the Wolf in the wild.
    All canines are pack animals.
When you bring puppy home, they need that training, stability and a pack environment. You become the pack leader, the Alpha.
I'm not a trainer but I learned from many trainers. Each dog has a different way of learning just like children. No 2 dogs are alike.
Not all training methods work for every dog. I found that out the hard way with my dog.
Find what works and stick with it.
My dog resembles her name. Her name is Tesla. The smartest dog I have ever known.

The dog wouldn't be like that if it was disciplined and taken care correctly. It was obviously the owners fault, how can you have a dog if you can't discipline and take care of it.People should not take lightly of adopting or owning dog , as an owner it's also our responsibility to asks for professionals some advices and how to discipline your pet. People should be more aware of this matter, it may cause pet's or humans life in danger.
-A dog also attacked my brother that cause him to lose his pinky finger. Please before owning a dog, you should make sure that you can really take care of them, discipline them. If you are busy then don't think of owning a dog because it may cause someone's life.

I think the only way to stop this dangerous attack of this dangerous dogs like rottweiler is to have to much requirements and more training before getting one. Owners get this kind of dog just to look cool but do not even train theirselves or even their dogs. Give them the dog if they pass ALL the 100 requirements. That poor owner are incredible to think of his dog first before him. And to that rottweiler dog? If you are reading this, try to leash your dog in public places because not every place is your backyard, its backyard for everydog not only yours.

But if i seen a dog attack my dog like this i will not be afraid to be hitting the dog to get it off my dog especially if it’s a bigger dog than mine (my dog is a yorkie) it’s so terrifying that some people let their dogs off leashes when they are not trained the right way. Also i feel very sorry to the dog and the owner in the video things like this aren’t okay at all. Some people can’t be dog owners at all.

I absolutely love Rottweilers. They are adorable, funny, sweet and loyal.
But when irresponsible "owners" get the breed just for looks, or reputation, knowing little to nothing about the breed and how to raise them, it pisses me off.
I want a Rottweiler some day. They are a dream dog of mine. But I know that I'm not gonna get one until I can consider myself a fully responsible, prepared, experienced and strong dog owner.
It's these kinds of stories that make people terrified of Rottweilers and it breaks my heart :( It is all the fault of irresponsible human beings.
Of course, you should always be careful with dogs you don't know, but (raised correctly) that doesn't make a Rottweiler any more likely to bite, and cause significant damage, than a Labrador Retriever.

Our neighbor has a Labrador and a Beagle. There’s another dog too but I have no idea what breed it is. All three dogs are aggressive. Very aggressive. The Labrador especially has tried to jump over the wall and bite. The owner guy doesn’t take care of his dogs at all. The beagle is obese and doesn’t move around. She was lying down in a cage that is only twice as big as her. The cage stays at the back in the veranda and all the cement falls on her cage since there’s some construction work going on in their house. Isn’t this animal abuse?none of us can talk to the owner since he’s in an aggressive state all the time too. Should we report this to the Blue cross?

But either cat or dog, they can be a loving family member or a monster that attack human and smaller animals compare to their body; it depends on 1. Their personality 2. Their genes 3. The owner 4. The enviroment they grew up (such as med large breed like Korean jindo needs a pretty often social activity)

They are both getting treatment and healing and fortunately the dog was less hurt because the owner tried to protect his dog from the bites and got hurt because of it, he's such a great owner who brought his dog immediately to be cured without even care of the scar in his face and he just hope to forget this accident and not be sad or remind himself this happened because of another bad owner who couldn't train his dog well and couldn't save his dog from the bite when he will see the scar. Trust me its not easy for the owner to have felt scared for his buddy,My dog got bitten from big dog too, I wasn't there but luckily my brother and sister in law with the owner(they both had lashes) stopped it and my dog wasn't badly unjured and healed fast, he's good now but we decided to not take him anymore outside our neighborhood and we builded a little garden for him and our other buddy to run and play in safety. Trust me the owners are just traumatized and need time but in some cases it won't heal,I always had and still have fear of big dogs when they approaches me in the road so I understand him when he says he's scared for who's going to experience the same thing because someone isn't suitable to have pets and he doesn't want it to happen to anyone else.I just ask you to be a bit empathetic and stop being doubtful because he did all he could do and he's taking care of the dog and himself well, take in mind he need to psychologically heal too. Still I think people who doesn't experience the same thing just need to shut up because they don't know what the owners feel when it happens or how much they feel sorry because they couldn't protect them and how much effort they are putting to be strong for both sides , it's simple to talk when you don't experience it on your skin right? Put yourself in his shoes then tell me.
