They once had a million dollar view. The seller forgot to mention the ten year limited warranty. The property will be condemned and the owners will have to move inland.
I like the man they interviewed. He shared his precious memory and recalled the changes to the bluff though the decades. If you were to look at these buildings from a drone's bird eye views you can see how ridiculous that people chose to build at the very edge of these basically eroding sandy bluffs. Mother of Nature has been working on this coast eons.
When they were built. the edge of the bluff was 50 feet away from the buildings. They were sold to cheeseballs moving to CA from the east coast, because no native Californian would touch them.
I was curious too. Look up 100 Esplanade Ave, Pacifica, CA 94044 in Google Maps. Thats the OceanAire Apartment Homes that is mentioned. Compare it with 0:21. It appears that a ton of soil and rock were brought in to not only save the property, but to provide a large buffer beach. However, it would seem that the tan colored roofed buildings next to it, more in the center of 0:21 has eroded far worse. It doesn’t appear like the structures are abandoned either. I do not know when street view or satellite images were taken, but it does look like extensive work was still being done to that beach. The buildings at 1:26 are completely demonlished, with the houses across the street now having a lovely view of the ocean. (And impending doom, as the satellite imaging doesn’t show any work done to that part of the coast yet.)

Things have gotten so bad in SF, it's trying to throw itself into the ocean.
Hello there. What's the update on this situation? Thank you.
I fined it strange all my life @ 60, that they would ever let them Build any of those Buildings that close to the edge of Death?
Have they been boring holes underground using TBM to accelerate erosion ?
They once had a million dollar view. The seller forgot to mention the ten year limited warranty. The property will be condemned and the owners will have to move inland.
The view is worth it. Fantastic sunsets!
How about posting an updated picture of the same place?
Can we get an update
Is this complex still standing?
Houses have been sliding into the ocean for decades in Pacifica
good, keep going
Location, location, location!
How do you get homeowners insurance when on a cliff side, these people smoke too much dope and their thinking is diminished.
Challenge the Seas, you're gonna lose, sooner, or later!! The coastal areas, and, beaches should be off limits to buildings!
Who is disputing anything about this report?
How much concrete does it take to fill a sink hole?
I like the man they interviewed. He shared his precious memory and recalled the changes to the bluff though the decades. If you were to look at these buildings from a drone's bird eye views you can see how ridiculous that people chose to build at the very edge of these basically eroding sandy bluffs. Mother of Nature has been working on this coast eons.
The foolish man built his house on the sand they say
When they were built. the edge of the bluff was 50 feet away from the buildings. They were sold to cheeseballs moving to CA from the east coast, because no native Californian would touch them.
I like how the apartment building thats empty still has power to it
I dont understand why those houses were built so near to the strong wave cliffs
What is the dispute?
Is there an update to this in 2021? Humans should not build on the beach or right next to the oceans. Period. It's called hubris.
@@UmmYeahOk Very interesting ! Thanks for the update.
This is just a metaphor for the rest of California
hearing lands end gave me a chill after seeing this
I used to live in Pacifica in a house that overlooked this area. I watched that whole situation with the houses falling into the sea.
what is the dispute??
Why are we surprised? Why do we feel bad?
are any forsale
A jetty or seawall might calm the waves?
ALL that uncontained ocean wave power … to harness such would be awesome !
wait, so your saying its NOT a good idea to build on top of a giant sand castle? i had no idea
