  • Watch this video for a great introduction to the Psychrometric chart. We break the chart down into 4 easy to follow parts. If you want to get the most out of this class and follow along, you can print out a copy of our Psych Chart here:

    Presentation Sections:
Part 1 Properties of Air. We explain the difference between Dry Bulb, Wet Bulb, Relative Humidity, Humidity, and Dew Point.
Part 2 Building the Psychrometric chart. A psychrometric chart is a graphical representation of the psychrometric processes of air. See how the psychrometric properties make up the chart.
Part 3 We look at psychrometric processes such as cooling, heating, humidification, dehumidification, cooling and dehumidification.
Part 4 Relative Humidity vs. Dew Point
    Description:
Understanding Psychrometrics and the properties of air is fundamental to maintaining and controlling space conditions. Designers often rely on software to calculate the key values related to cooling, heating humidifying, and dehumidifying, but do we really know how those measurement values are determined? Even though Psychrometric charts can be intimidating, in this webinar we’ll demystify the information they contain. You’ll finish the session with a better understanding of psychrometric charts, the properties of air, and the key processes that drive climate control in a modern building.

    Well done.

Small correction. Dew point and wet bulb is not the same unless at 100% humidity. In all other scenarios wet bulb is always higher than dew point.

Yes they are the same at 100% saturation. .Thanks for watching!

It seems better to have people asking questions after the presentation

Let's say if your chilled water entering in cooling coil is 44 deg F and exit at 54 deg F," how can we calculate the effective coil temperature", if that temperature is below entering air's dew point temperature then it's called as apparatus dew point temperature

I have asked a sensible question I guess please don't give answer late (nt)...

I’m not sure how that can be calculated. I would say the coil manufacturers can probably get you an estimate.

How to calculate apparatus dew point temperature?

I would ask the coil manufacturer. They usually have selection programs that can calculate this. Thanks for asking!
