Do's and Don'ts: Lower Lash Line Liner | Hannah Martin Makeup

This might seem like a fairly obvious ‘do’s and dont’s’ video to some but I hope it’s helpful for those who might be stuck in a bit of a liner rut.
I still encounter a lot of people that don’t wear eyeliner on their top lid but do on their lower lash line and I do think a lot of that comes down to habits adopted when first experimenting with makeup.
When lower lash line liner is too dark and too strong it can make the eyes look a little smaller and a bit harsh, especially in photos so I much prefer layering powders to create a softer look and then perfecting and intensifying with a pencil. Kajals like the one I used here are in fact very blendable and there is nothing wrong of course with using pencils along the lower lash line, I just think a softer, more blended, powder look can be a more flattering option.
I should also point out and thank you to those of you that brought it to my attention, that I’m not referring to the Kajal liner looks that are the cultural norm in South and West Asia, worn from a really young age and absolutely beautiful, this is more for those in a liner rut who identify that their lower lash liner might be a bit harsh.
Anyway, I hope the blending of powder shadows for a softer lower lash line look is helpful 🖤
