TRANSCRIPT: What is sorrow? What is your sorrow? Can you answer…? Don’t answer it to me. Can you find out what your sorrow is? Is it loneliness? Is it that you have not been able to identify yourself with something or other? Is it that you have lost somebody whom you loved, or had a great affection, or companionship? Is it that you cannot have the power, the position, the prestige of someone who has? Please examine all this for yourself. Is it that you want happiness and you can’t have it? You want to be loved and nobody loves you? Sir, you understand? Is it that you want to achieve some extraordinary status and you know you have not the capacity, the brains, the essential activity, and you cry? Now, please listen. Either you take one sorrow after another, one grief after another, one particular grief and resolve it but in the very resolution of it another grief arises - you understand this? - or can you observe the whole nature of this sorrow as a whole? You understand? Not a particular sorrow, because the particular can never lead to the whole, the particular is the broken piece, the broken piece is not the whole. So can you see the truth of that: the particular cannot possibly lead to the whole. And you may investigate each particular hoping thereby to come to the end of sorrow, and that is an impossible thing to do, because one sorrow leads to another. Right? I wonder if you understand all this? So can you observe the whole nature, the whole movement of sorrow? That is, to observe wholly. I mean by that word ‘wholly’ not only to have a very clear, logical, sane mind, sane observation, logical - you follow? - clear, precise, and that precision is not diluted by your prejudice, by your longing, by your motive, so that you can observe without any distortion. Which means, can you put aside your opinions, your conclusions, or the commentator’s conclusion, or the Gita’s, the Upanishad’s, the Bible’s, put away all those conclusions, concepts, and to observe wholly the whole movement of man’s agony and sorrow? You understand? Through the particular to come to the whole is false. Right? So when you see that which is false, that falls away. The very falling away of it, the false disappearing, or non-existent, the very perception of the false is the beginning of intelligence. It is this intelligence, not yours, or mine, or a particular intelligence, this seeing that which is true, and that which is false - not the truth according to your conclusion, according to your prejudice, according to your tradition. You must be free of all that. So can you observe not only your sorrow, but the sorrow of mankind of which you are a part, as a whole - the sorrow of a person who is physically ill, and the sorrow of a person who doesn’t believe in anything? And that person who doesn’t believe in anything is the same as the man who believes. Don’t agree with me, please, this is very, very serious. It’s your life. Now in the same way as we talked about it the other day, fear - can you observe not a particular fear but the root of fear? We said the root of fear is time, time is thought, thought is fear. Right? We went into that very carefully the other day. And in the same way this enormous burden of man which is called sorrow, can it ever end? The moment you have a motive that it must end in order to have something else, then you are lost. So in observation of this question of sorrow, there is no motive. You understand? So when there is a motive - motive means movement - when there is a self-interested movement, there is distortion in observation. Right? So when there is no motive in your examination of this enormous burden which man has carried then is that sorrow different from you? You understand? No, don’t sir, please, please look at it, go into it. You understand? As you are fear, as you are angry, as you are jealous - jealousy is not different from you, your greed is not different from you, that’s our tradition - not ours, not mine - it is tradition says, ‘You are different from your greed, therefore battle with it, fight it, struggle, control it’. So we are saying quite the opposite: anger is you. Only when there is a moment of anger - the anger being violence and all that - at the moment of anger there is neither you but that reaction. Then thought identifies itself with that reaction, saying, ‘That’s anger, I have been angry’. Therefore thought separates itself from that thing which is called anger. I hope you are following all this. We went into it. So we are saying the observer is the observed, the thinker is the thought, the experiencer is the experience, and sorrow is not different from himself. You understand? When that takes place, that there is no division between you and that which you are observing - that is the observer is the observed - the man who has tears, or the woman who cries, is that sorrow himself. You understand? That sorrow is not separate from himself or herself. When there is no division, the very observation of that brings about a radical change in that which is being observed. So is there an observation of sorrow without the observer? You understand what I am saying? I lose my son and I am lost. It is a shock, I am paralysed for the moment. Then I realise I have lost something which I have treasured, which I have held, with which I have identified myself, my son. So, sorrow is the loss of that. And so I then ask, ‘Please help me to get rid of my sorrow. Or, I will meet my son next life’. You follow? The avoidance and the escape from what is actually going on. The observation of what is actually going on - when one loses a son, or a husband, or a wife, anything, that which is actually going on - in the observation of that, if there is no division, when the observer is the observed, then in that observation that which is being observed undergoes a radical, fundamental change. Test it out!

So the solution, to the answer, is to be taught (actually reminded) from a tender young age, that our previous thoughts have manifested themselves into reality today worldwide and today's thoughts will create destiny, in the future. The feeling you get, whether sorrow or love, is the creation of how we perceive ourselves by our thoughts and it's actually encouraged in an ignorant fashion. Because, not everyone will have the same reaction to a stimulus, for example; we think that encouraging children and adolescents, to feel pride, for example, is limited to pride itself and achievement and well being. There's no end to that way of thinking once it's indoctrinated because it's conditioning yourself for ultimate selfishness for the majority of the people being taught this and the teachers who are profoundly ignorant in their own ways. Before you learn to have pride in yourself, you need to learn soooo much more; that we are all essentially the same, despite our looks, boundaries, races and locations on this earth. I don't mean that in some progressive talking point fashion. I mean that we are all connected, light-beings, who are here for each other. Kindness, Love, Compassion, Empathy and so on. If all of those things were on the forefront of our developmental teachings; even before learning arithmetic and history and science etc; people would grow from a different foundation and not care as much about money, things wouldn't have a monetary value like they do today and we wouldn't believe that 'success' is self generated and isolated, etc etc. We are taught to be selfish from the moment we enter the earth from our mothers wombs. Furthermore, we can all agree, that it's better to feel love and BE love, than to BE sorrow. For a plethora of obvious reasons. Despite, both being inevitably part of our existence and we have to be both and more. That's a whole other topic. I see the fundamental problem being, NOT, not doing what Krishna J says, but learning to do it too late or not at all, as mortals; to be it as oneself, after many years and lifetimes having gone by, doing just the opposite. We've already ruined or conditioned ourselves and others, to separate ourselves from how we 'feel', resulting in more intense feelings and desires and anger and rage and jealousy etc, as an escape from one evil to the next. (Carl Jung) A vicious cycle, hence our world today. Cause and Effect. This is a fundamental problem that is undeniably, explained and taught to us; for example, by the great teacher, Emma Ruder Drollinger in the late 1800's, in her writings on the 7 layers of the Ethereal World. As we progress after death, on our way to the 'Heavens' and when we are reborn in a new human form, we most likely HAVE the knowledge truth and wisdom, that Krishna J describes, already buried within us from our Ethereal Journey's and our Heavenly Entrances. But after birth, it all goes to sht again. Mankind, our parents, the internet, our societies, our religions, our schools, teach us the art of objectification, separation, encourage self pity and profess 'Irresponsible Individuality' which is essentially = it's good to be selfish 'most of the time' as long as you aren't a 'really bad person' What I just pontificated can be interpreted a few ways but ultimately, that's what we have reduced ourselves to while the world around us explodes. It's pathetic. Some people, sense the truths or sense that they're different from a young age, like myself, but never realized what it was, until for me, now at 45 years old and having lost everything and hit rock bottom. I have found the truth, in my darkest hours and am struggling just to eat and find shelter. We spend our lives, looking at ourselves as if we are someone else, thinking about what we are feeling, only to create an even bigger problem, than just being the feeling like Krishna J says....It all makes sense....The only way for any of this to ever really change, is for more people to be the way Krishna J and others described and live it and teach it to our children from birth. Then, the world will change, we will demand it, it will have no choice but to, and it will progress, over the next 300-500-1000 years, and someday, we can actually have an earth, that IS, essentially like a kind of heaven in itself. Instead, other than technologically speaking, we are going backwards in full speed reverse, humanity wise. It's 2021 and not a damn thing Krishna J says, is becoming more, part of our reality today. It's the opposite. Krishna J said once, he'd rather DIE, than work a Mon-Fri, 9-5 job in this Rat Race we call life and that was in the 1970's. Imagine what he'd say today. It really goes to show you, how we divided and destroyed ourselves on this planet, many many many years ago, through thoughts of power, greed, selfishness, etc. It was our choice. But it's still our choice to CHANGE IT because WE WERE and ARE, the same souls/people back then, who created this. We just embody different forms over many lifetimes. I think Krishna J realized that and understood, that at this point in his speakings, we can now only truly rely on ourself, to find the truth, after being given words of wisdom. Be your own light. Heal yourself, all while still helping your fellow human of course. But the reliance on another mortal to fix your own self, is way way wayyyy in the future and way way way in the past. BUT, it shouldn't have to be that way. We made it that way due to our own corrupt minds. We need a LARGE MOVEMENT of people to reignite the teachings of people like Krishna J, Buddha, Jehoshua, Ruder-Drollinger, Blavatsky, B. Donahue, Goldsmith, Percival, Jung and so many others. I'd love to be a part of it. It has to be done on a mass scale. A real awakening must take place. We created this chaos. Only we can fix it. I love all of you so much💗
Yes, Corona is no fun at all so to speak, but what became so clear during this pandemic was that all this nationalism is making the situation even worse. Corona seems not only to kill our elders but its causing even more division , instead of that faint hope of some , that this would unite the world. How could there ever be a union as long as we put up borders?
All humans have sorrow, so it's large. Our thinking tells us we are apart from sorrow. There's us we see in the mirror and sometimes we have sorrow, so our thinking sees two (right now I have sorrow but earlier I felt fine); our thinking is incorrect but we can't see it... but according to K, we actually are the sorrow or the happiness or whatever. The observer (us) is the observed (sorrow). So he says: there can be a radical transformation when we have no division between us (mirror) and sorrow... And he said earlier, what is fear, and he went into it, and he realized fear is time and time is thought... and above I mentioned we think there are two things: (1) us and (2) sorrow, and then later we will be happy, so as we continue on, we will be happy and then after a while, sorrowful again... but we are talking about time... and time is thought. But we obviously feel like the me walking around living our lives. According to K the me is not real. It's just we can't see it. Our thinking isn't capable of understanding.
In other words, humanity exists as a whole... fully united in all chaos and order. It’s the perspective that one cannot exist alone in any space. Which makes the thought of an empty space impossible. The perspective of one can’t be separated from the other. Especially considering time is removed from space in a dimension of love. When you place yourself in the space of love, you exist as love which is infinitely large. Infinity is not a theory it’s practically an inevitable truth. Infinity allows space for everything to exist. Which includes its opposite. You could say that a space of love is greater than hate but without the perspective of one you can’t have the other. God being all great creates a space for the Devil which is all evil. The mathematical solution to either frame of reference remains infinity. So we exist in this world which we think matters and now realize that the “thought“ created the space in which we exist. That is rather biblical considering in the beginning there was the “wind” of God, which I interpret to be the thought manifested into the word.

but won't the same thing apply when you are Happy, when you are in state of Happiness and you give your full attention, without trying to escape from it, will Happiness disappear? If we are doing this when we are sad, should we also do it when we are happy? Then what are we left with? This makes me more confused than ever before.
You can find out this by observing the happiness also. Enlightened people say that happiness and sorrow both are mind made that's why they doesn't last. Joy is permanent and that is felt after getting rid of sorrow and happiness both.
There is no need to be lost in your sorrow for observation. You will find nothing worthwhile. Be receptive to the Divine Grace which will help you to come out of your limitations. Be a help to those who are struggling with their aching issues. Do something good to them You will find your sorrow melting away . Such a man is not baffled by difficult times .. He just lives every moment as a gift by the Divine. Accepting every thing with peace. Logic has no place in this state of mind
I test this out and the observer has enormous sorrow and pain for the observed is this part of the radical transformation? 20 months ago I lost my son and the pain from this is total hell🥺
Once he said that if one can remain in the state of sorrow, however intense, without trying to escape from it, then the sorrow will provide energy to dissolve itself.
Each one has inherent intelligence within oneself to take care of oneself. This intelligence is not the function of our mind and thus thought. If you let that intelligence to function freely you will discover compassion within you. This realisation of compassion will wash away your sorrow and pain. You will discover your true nature within yourself, that is Love.
in this case, 'observer' is the person feeling sorrow, and he/she observes sorrow, so the 'observed' is sorrow.. So Jk says that observer should be the observed, that is, a person experiencing sorrow should not see sorrow as a separate entity.. why? Because when observer sees the observed as a separate entity, then observer would try to avoid/control/fight with the observed (sorrow), which according to JK, brings conflict, mind numbing and destruction and does not lead to sorrow dissolution. Only when the observer becomes the observed and sees it in totality, sits with it, gives it full attention, is there a chance to dissolve the observed.
I don’t understand dislikes to talks like this. Does a person that ‘dislikes’ have a better, perhaps more profound thing to say.? If so, start your own channel. I listen to talks like this to gain insight into the person speaking, not to categorically agree or disagree. I ‘like’ talks like these to show respect or appreciation for the persons heartfelt words.
There is something i can't understand. If we observe our sorrow it is because we want to end it, therefore we have a motive... how is it possible to observe without a motive ? There is no observation without need ...
On the contrary, observation has to be without motive, if it has motive, you've already decreased the intensity of it, coz you are trying to control the observed, and in terms of JK, at conflict with it.
What distinguishes us humans from the other animals, is the ability to objectify ourselves. This is the function of noesis. By looking ourselves we manage to bring changes, especially in our acts, but this creates a fundamental division between the subject (us) and the object (ourselves). This division ceases in cases of overwhelming emotions which are not "observed" (objectified) but felt. When the brain loses the control of the behaviour. Now, this man claims that we can observe ourselves without objectifying them and without dividing them. This seems to me like a Zen koan; an absurd. What would a person suffering from depression gain from such an instruction? Staying in depression for a long time can even lead one to suicide.
What makes humans suffer in general is their ability to identify themselves with objects. Well depression is a very serious issue..but if i have to give a very simple and ordinary example just for the sake of the argument..is we often feel hurt when someone body shame us or has something negative to say about our physical appearance. If we observe our sorrow carefully in this scenario we will notice that it springs not from our physical appearance but rather from the fact that all of a sudden we find our entire being being reduced to a mere physical feature. In other words, sorrow is when people objectify you or when we objectify ourselves. Hope that made sense..take care.
How does one have the ability to objectify ourselves? The whole process of objectifying has already created a division, you are different from me, your depression is different than mine. And so you look for answers to cure that, one after the other, books after books and you come back to the same as you were before, maybe little more intellectually smarter but still the same poor little me that is wanting to find an answer. Look within you, until you find that there is no objection or objectivity, that’s when the radical fundamental change can start to begin.
Once K said that if one can remain with the state of sorrow, however intense, without trying to escape from it or struggling with it then this sorrow will provide energy to eliminate itself.
Thank you 💯 noted.

I love all of you so much💗
Yes sorrow of Corona putting us in a mess.
Tfs: i will!
Is it just me or does this just all make sense

@@Truth.n.Love.is.God.BCatholic. Yes. So the solution, to the answer, is to be taught from a young age, that our thoughts manifest themselves into reality. The feeling you get, whether sorrow or love, is the creation of how we perceive ourselves by our thoughts. Because, not everyone will have the same reaction to a stimulus, for example. We can all agree, that it's better to feel love and BE love, than to BE sorrow. For a plethora of reasons. Despite, both being part of our existence. That's a whole other topic. I see the fundamental problem as, NOT, not doing what Krishna J says. But learning to do it, to be it as oneself, after many years have gone by doing the opposite. but won't the same thing apply when you are Happy, when you are in state of Happiness and you give your full attention, without trying to escape from it, will Happiness disappear? If we are doing this when we are sad, should we also do it when we are happy? Then what are we left with? This makes me more confused than ever before.
You can find out this by observing the happiness also. Enlightened people say that happiness and sorrow both are mind made that's why they doesn't last. Joy is permanent and that is felt after getting rid of sorrow and happiness both.
There is no need to be lost in your sorrow for observation. You will find nothing worthwhile.
Be receptive to the Divine Grace which will help you to come out of your limitations. Be a help to those who are struggling with their aching issues. Do something good to them
You will find your sorrow melting away . Such a man is not baffled by difficult times ..
He just lives every moment as a gift by the Divine. Accepting every thing with peace. Logic has no place in this state of mind
Haha he is very theatrical at times...but high level teaching. Very difficult to apply it all the time
I test this out and the observer has enormous sorrow and pain for the observed is this part of the radical transformation? 20 months ago I lost my son and the pain from this is total hell🥺

¿What is sorrow?
0.41 is it loneliness ?
So the difference betwin Yoga and Budhism is the identification of the the observer?
Could anyone please explain what do you mean by "the observer is the observed". That is the last sentence in the video.
@srigowritn5733 listen to the full talks ..don't be lazy
What about crying?
Don't ever answer Krishnamurti when he asks rhetorical questions lol
I read the transcript but I'm still having a hard time trying to understand what he's saying. I need a little bit of guidance.
@@RRijesh thank you dearly for your summary, I feel the truth of it deeply in me
in this case, 'observer' is the person feeling sorrow, and he/she observes sorrow, so the 'observed' is sorrow..
Why not? Here we learn something radically new if we test it ourselves. There are beautiful comments about it above
To understand sorrow only
On the contrary, observation has to be without motive, if it has motive, you've already decreased the intensity of it, coz you are trying to control the observed, and in terms of JK, at conflict with it.
Most boring speach about nothing ever
lmao why did you listen to it?
It is hard to see the rich as sorrowful...
Thought appears to a dangerous entity. Time is the root of fear, Fear is Thought.
Thank you.
