Well played - the wind players should go have dinner, drinks and hang out with one another more away from the music - it looked like they weren’t really friends on stage with the connection. However, the piece was controlled and the pianist was laying out the setting for a story there. Thanks for the video!
It is an early work and really kind of a working over of Schumann' s 3rd Symphony Movement I. But yes, he can't quite seem to get away from that theme. It is pretty though.
The soul of Russia. Summer breezes at Livadiya...a ballet I wanted to choreograph to Rimsky-Korsakov's Wind and Piano Quintet in B-flat major. It is so beautiful! Makes me think of the lilacs at the Imperial residence!

I finally know what it is to overdevelop a theme. Brilliantly played though.
