I remember I used to cry hearing this song for at least 2 months after I broke up with my ex. But now it feels different, hearing this again after 3 months of that season full of crying. I realized that you don't need to be perfect just so you can perfectly fit the standards your partner needs. Learn to love yourself first. Because you cannot give something you do not have. And it's okay not to be perfect because we are all broken people capable of being loved by an imperfect person. You just have to find who's worth your love.

So, I don't really have someone in mind other than my bestfriend when I'm hearing this, even before when we're still fine... he's the only one that crosses my mind when I hear this. I did cut ties with him before this new year starts, exactly at the end of 2020. We we're bestfriends for 4 years, and it is only in 2020 where I realized I'm losing myself again for loving and caring for him too much. For that 4 years I tried not to give up on him, stayed by his side even though I feel like he's kinda taking me for granted, he doesn't even care when he hurts me anymore, it feels like he's that confident that no matter what happens, no matter how he fcked up, or no matter how tiring the situations can get, he knew to himself that I won't leave. Well, I guess it is kinda my fault that he thinks that way, that I made him feel that way, that I will always understand and stay.
Before 2020 ends I told him what I feel since I don't really wanna enter my 2021 with a heavy heart cause I wanna start my healing from all the shits I've been through so I wanted to let it all go and just be honest with him. I tried asking him if I do really deserve to be hurt that way? and to why do I feel like he's comfortable on hurting me? or why do I feel like he's taking me for granted? or does he really think that somehow he owns me, and that I don't have it in me to leave?... but at the end of the day, as expected, I didn't heard a single sorry or an explanation from him, cause that's just the way he is. For the past years I tried to adjust my own stuffs for his own comfortability... I tried understanding that he's just like that, I understand where he's coming from and shts, I never heard him say sorry, not even once, for all the shts he made me feel, but I still try to understand every single bits of it.
I don't know what's gotten into me this year, I just realized that I have loads of stuffs that I fought for myself against my parents and to other people but I let him make me feel like shit just because I feel like it's what you called loving them... he was the best thing that ever happened to me back then, he's the one who understand me most, it's him who I can tell every single thought I have in mind. It's him who I planned to travel with when we grow old enough, he's the one that I want to be successful with, it's him who I wanna see happily married and who's got kids while I'm in a happy relationship or damn, it is him I wanna celebrate every victories of ours. But now, I realized that no, I'm the best thing that ever happened to him, but never again. I guess he won't ever find someone like me who put up with all of his bullshitries, someone who'll see him beyond those fake smiles, someone who sees the scared hooman in him when all he shows was him being strong, someone who'll see the softest bear behind those tough facade, someone who'll understand him more than he do to himself. But yea, I still hope he finds one tho... I wish him happiness, and hoping that someday he'll be able to show his true feelings without feeling scared, or even if he feels scared I hope someday he'll be able to face it. I hope he heals from every shits he's been through.
I might sing this song with my hearts out, with pain, or maybe even anger, maybe I realized it's not worth the fight anymore but I will always not regret loving him that way, that much, pampering him with my endless understanding... cause maybe even tho it feels like everything's not worth it at the moment, I hope everything will, someday. I may have walked away this time, I may have broke my promise that I'll stay no matter what happens... Iam still thankful for those memories we shared cause at some point even tho it hurts me much, I must admit too that it made me happy and it made me feel alive, plus, every pain is every lesson I've learned. He'll learn. We'll learn.
