The Cantor: A Calling For Today

A video documentary, originally aired on Maryland Public Television in June, 1994, on the changing role of the American Reform Jewish Cantorate. Written and narrated by Cantor Michael Shochet and directed by Thomas Kalamar, this video takes the viewer on a journey of the role of the Cantor in the American Reform Jewish synagogue, and how that role has evolved into a full clergy partner with rabbinic colleagues. The video is 30 minutes long.
