Ahhhhh...I knew I forgot something...the annual Eastmoreland yard sale is happening this weekend. We were in the Reed neighborhood a couple of weeks ago going to yard sales and saw the signs posted for this one...We'll have to hit it tomorrow perhaps. Went to the Gresham farmers market this morning and had the best donut I've ever eaten at Grammy's Donuts. The "Mexican" donut straight out of the oil...unbelievable. I thought of you, since you seem to love donuts so much! 🍩😊
Your channel is such a great resource for local history. I did not know that Mr. Jobs attended Reed. More importantly, I had no idea that he was in any way affiliated with The Simpsons. That is fascinating since The Simpsons has been known to accurately predict many major future events. I don't think that is a coincidence. Interesting. Very interesting. It's also good to learn about the annual Eastmoreland sale. Thanks for what you do!
I'm not sure but the person who taught him calligraphy I think I may have met them not sure about a decade ago met this Professor about that age who was also telling us about Chloe Griffey so I thought little baby could have been that person if you see the biography about Steve Jobs I think you see this person they also taught calligraphy at Reed College as well as University of Oregon once again Eugene
Wow Homer's mom is famous!❤ I have been watching the Simpsons at a young age because my mom likes the show and she got me the dolls of the family with Maggie and little figures of them too when I was a baby I had a Maggie shirt in my mouth when I was sick with a stuffy nose and she was in my crib and I couldn't breathe from my nose cause it hurts and runny so I had her the Maggie doll using her like a baby thing that you would find it in their mouth for sucking on that they will do when a baby need to have something in their mouth too. 😊❤🎉😮.
Springfield is Springfield Oregon not sure if Shelbyville is Eugene it's probably Portland although it's quite smart to name the town Springfield because they have one of those in almost every state The Simpson episode with Donald Sutherland had a scene with a parade when they were shooting Animal House mostly in Eugene they also use Springfield Oregon for the town that they had the parade in and I think that was a nod to Springfield Oregon because basically The Simpsons were kind of recreating the parade for that episode
Peanut butter jelly sandwich few things better than that I've gotten lazy so I buy those crustable is it Uncrustables anyway premade peanut butter and jelly sandwiches definitely like the great for some reason I think it seems more like a peanut butter jelly but I also like the strawberry to I tried the honey peanut butter on wheat on crossbow I also heard they've got chocolate hazelnut spread Incredibles I'm not that big of a fan of that particular flavor but it's not bad
Talk about great capitalists Phil Knight his sister lives in Eastmoreland close to Reed College in his parents house that's where he helped start Blue Ribbon Sports which sold those tiger Cortez's and strangely enough I think I might have seen the Nike founder at the Nike downtown as well as in the late 70s Nike was still struggling so he had to work as a college professor at Portland State University and I had gone to Portland State my early teens because they had some education for me at the college and I think I seen him there does Phil Knight the founder of Nike apparently they have found the original waffle iron Bill Bowerman used to make the first Waffle Sole shoes for Nike I also noticed that about the same time tiger started having the same kind of waffle soles not sure Bill Bowerman was still King with the tiger people because as soon as one of those people from Tiger scene a pair of Nike Cortez's one of the most successful shoes tiger ever had in the day I liked the tiger Cortez better than the Nike Cortez
