    I am in shock and not in a good way. How dare they ruin this brand that John’s worked so incredibly hard on? Seeing this collection makes me furious.

    Why is John designing for Margiela and not his own house?
    I really don't understand the fashion industry and its antics

      John took on LVMH as his investor when they gave him the job at Dior. After his drunken anti-Semitic remarks they fired him from both houses. Bill was his right hand man so the duties fell to him. Anna Wintour and Si Newhouse worked to rehab his career so they helped him get the job at Margalia. I feel bad for Bill. He was used at Dior until Raf Simmons. I think he should be given the chance to work his own style via a house like Givenchy, Celine or Lowae. His tenure at Dior saw the ready to wear sales increase and he is great- He just happened to be a casualty of Johns both genius and down fall.

      Thanks for insider skinny. Very informative. Galiano is a genius, but I honestly don't like his work thus far at Margiela. I so hope he can get back his lush creativity.

    I have only one question after seeing this show: who is Bill Gaytten and what is he about? This collection comes across as a designer who's is trying to be everything he thinks he should be: pretty and feminine with edgy and masculine touches. I feel nothing genuine or unique. There are a ton of wearable garments, but nothing that would make me say "Bill Gaytten!"....and certainly nothing that would make me say "John Galliano!".

    • @nickygamalinda4229
      @nickygamalinda4229 7 років тому +2

      i can totally tell if it is by Bill Gayten. if you cannot discern what he is about then it is you who has the problem. i am sorry for saying it. but i have watched Bill Gayten take over Dior for a short time and then moved to John Galliano, He is a brilliant tailor and Designer. The truth is all designers have their unique style that perhaps gets drowned in the sea of fashion and prevailing modes, but Bill is doing great for the current time. you have to watch shows after shows and after shows to have that keen eye for details and style so you can see what they are all about.

    2 or 3 relevant pieces, the rest was a total mess! The soundtrack, casting, beauty!
    EVERYTHING LOOKS HORRIBLE! I think that Bill's secretly hates John, because this collection was unacceptable!

    All these designs are unsuitable for public display and certainly not for street wear! The most interesting aspects are the satin slips, not seen for many years, the faux tuxedo jackets, and highly questionable plastic rainshoes worn as street wear. Good luck, you will need it!

    Did Galliano design this? It doesn't look like him at all. Looks like H&M and Vidal Sassoon students got together to put on a show.

    I feel sorry for Bill Gaytten. To work under Mr. Galliano for many years and then find himself at the helm of his former bosses namesake collection....it's a can't win situation. Whoever currently 'owns' the Galliano name needs to give it back to the person who REALLY owns it.

    The question is, whey did the real John Galliano sell his name? To atone for his sins? I don't get it. This collection is third rate.

      Your presumtion is 'they' think as one. If however his reputation was so tarnished by drunken antisemitic raves why then is his name still being used? The bottom line line though is that parade a load of boring crap compared to what Calliano created.

      In early 2013, Galliano accepted an invitation from Oscar de la Renta, brokered by Anna Wintour, for a temporary residency at de la Renta's design studio to help prepare for a showing of his Fall 2013 ready-to-wear collection during February New York Fashion Week.[34] Galliano also received a measure of absolution from the Anti-Defamation League, which lauded his efforts to atone for his misdeeds and wished him well.[35] The ADL again came to his defense after the New York Post ran a photo of him on his way to the de la Renta show dressed in what it claimed was Hasidic-like garb.[36][37] Galliano remained backstage at the show, which received favourable reviews[38][39] amid speculation about his future, including as a possible successor to Mr. de la Renta[40] and that Galliano might take up a teaching post at Parsons The New School for Design.[41] On 12 June 2013, John Galliano's first filmed interview since his dismissal from Christian Dior was broadcast on United States television. He closed this conversation by stating, "I am able to create. I am ready to create... [and] I hope through my atonement I'll be given a second chance."[42]
      On 6 October 2014, the OTB Group announced that John Galliano had joined Maison Margiela to take the responsibility of the creative direction of the house,[43] marking the designer’s return to fashion. Just a few weeks later, on the occasion of the annual British Fashion Awards, Galliano presented the Outstanding Achievement Award to Anna Wintour who wore Galliano's first creation for Maison Martin Margiela, "an unambiguous fashion blessing" from the Editor in Chief of American Vogue according to Vanessa Friedman, Fashion Director of the New York Times.[44]
      Galliano exhibited his first couture collection for Margiela during London Collections: Men, on 12 January 2015.

    What is going on here ? John Galliano is much too creative and and adept as a tailor to do this. This is even inferior to some student's graduate show at a college. It seems some one has taken on his name. He should be ashamed of himself.
