Maybe they used a pre-certified module for the transceiver? If so it would be cool to be able to make custom radios that are FCC certified by virtue of using certified modules.
Amazon requires an FCC certification. It's certified as a receiver and hence Amazon allows it to be sold on their platform. 1) the FCC shouldn't issue any certifications for a device unless it's also certified for its primary usage. 2) Amazon shouldn't be dumb enough to accept any certification, only a certification for the items primary use case.
Hi.. what is your suggestion for strong use and reception on the icom ic-r20??? 1/sss mk2 super scan stick 25-2000mhz 2/scanking royal double discone 25-2000mhz
Unfortunately I have not tried those antennas so I could not comment, hopefully someone else will read your comment and reply. Generally though, discones do work, even better when mounted outside.

Come on, who would transmit with a radio transceiver? I'm glad to learn the the FCC finally figured that out 😂
Is there a Quansheng buried in that case?
Or based on the same chip
99% that is Baofeng
Wow sounds good quality
Maybe they forgot to include transmission testing. Haha
Maybe some cash-in-hand exchange took place?😐
It's not really designed to transmit, it just happens to have that as an extra feature. 👍
