I agree,.. I’ve always wanted to get a mini and the older pocket for traveling.. I did use an air 2 and my trusty rx100 va on the road at times.. I wish Sony would give us another RX and go back to a 24-70 or a new 20-70 with a 1.8 adjustable aperture.. still not as convenient as the stabilized pocket 2 but very powerful
Yup. My travel cams are pocket 3 and Air 3. Don’t have a mini but I tend to use the air 3 even over my mavic 3 pro (original). I still haven’t gotten any questions on drone size. I’m sure it’s coming though!
Jake....awesome video as always. I agree with you that the Pocket 3 is super inconspicuous because of its size. I was walking around a mall here in thr Phillipines and this dude stuck out like a sore thumb because he was shooting on his iPhone with a DJI OM6. Other people also noticed him (saw pointing) because of what gear he was using. People didn't even notice I was shooting on my Pocket 3...or at least if they did, they didn't really care
Super excited for my OP3 to come in tomorrow! I've had the M3P for a year now and absolutely LOVE all the amazing shots I can get with it but have had many times where I wanted to use it as a handheld camera when folded up and the Pocket 3 makes that a reality! Also don't have to mess with lugging my Zhiyun Smooth 5s and setting and balancing my phone when I wanna capture quick moments of my little one! Only downside to my setup is the lack of D-Log M on my M3P

I have to agree about the Mini 4 Pro but not for the Poctet 3. I bought it and sell it after a month. It is produce lovely footage but I wont take a gimbal even so small with me at the mountains. I sold this and bought a Osmo Action 4 which I love it!

I got the mini 4 pro. Hopefully, I will get the pocket 3 this month. I've got the same backpack too 😊 would you say they are using the same sensor and built in lens? I feel like that makes it a lot easier in the post-processing idk

For only one fullframe lens I would pick the 20-70 f4 from Sony or the 24-105 f4 (which is what I currently use mostly) for most of my inside shots I am using an a7siii and a 24mm 1.4 GM lens
How do you get good shots facing forward with the pocket 3? Which setting do you use? My shots come out blurry because of the focusing of the pocket 3. Can you help me out?
facing forward (away from you to toward you?) the pocket 3 will focus on whatever is in the center and so if that thing is close then the background will go out of focus. you can set the focus to single (see my settings setup video) and it will "lock" the focus as soon as you start shooting and will not change focus from then till you stop and start recording again
Be aware that some phones, like my Samsung Galaxy A13 does not support the Mimo app you need, to use the pocket 3, so it is useless. 700 dollars down the drain....
I'd like to have both these. Great companions for interior district shooting especially since roads are limited. I'm just not sure spending more on both these is worth it yet. But it is in my bucket list 😂
hey Jake, subscibed! hope you can help me! is it possible to film yourself without holding the controller? I want to play guitar and film a video of myself using DJI mini pro 4. I cant find this info anywhere.. i'd like it to circle me while filming but me holding the guitar and not the controller.. I can see that using the pocket 3 would help with the active track and on a tripod (will get that too), but any suggestions with the mini pro 4 to go 'controllerless' just to get the shots of me playing guitar and using both hands... thank you so much!!!
You can you will draw a box around yourself on the controller screen or phone then select POI (point of interest) and use the slider to select your direction and speed. Cheers
Thank you man! Does this mean you don’t need to hold the controller and the drone will just follow you until you return to the controller? Sorry for the noob question - is there a risk the drone might fly off doing this or is it safe to go controller less for this duration?

The air 3 does seem to sit in that sweet spot of not big enough to warrant questions.

no it's definitely a different sensor but the color science is the same so they will match up very well
