$3800. Can get a Yoder that's made in the US with 1/8" steel with a Fireboard controller, an UNi pizza oven, and a Blackstone for that price. Great video, nifty product. Don't need a touch-screen LCD on an outdoor product. There really is so much to break on this thing.
Traeger has come so far in the last 30 years. My 1st grill took a paste in order to get it going. I remember borrowing a traeger to cook hotdogs on, the thing was a beast. It would cook over a thousand dogs my kids school loved me, actually my borrowed grill, during the school carnival. It had two hoppers for pellets. Worked great!
I have the Master built vertical smoker and I love that thing for the last 7 years but it's time to buy something new and suddenly this shows up. I'm going to buy it for myself as a housewarming gift
That's only the base price. He got a ton of the extra gadgets too. Shelves, storage bin, paper towel rack, accessory hooks, stainless fish tray, and undoubtedly a cover also. Probably added another $700.00. Nice, but....WOW!
As a person who owned a Traeger Timberline,Camp Chef and now two Reqtecs. The Traeger was buy far the worst one.30-50 temperature swings very little smoke flavor and flame outs.My Camp Chef 20-30 temperature swings better smoke no flame outs.My Reqtecs 3degrees temperature swings the best smoke nearly as good as my $4k offset.I used the same pellets in all three brands.I wish you the best of luck.
Umm never had 30-50 temp swings in my Timberline...only time my Temp was that far off from what I set it to was when I raised the temp or when first starting it up. I have used it in high winds, rain (with sun canopy over it..) and 20F degree temps. Not sure if you were using an older Timberline but the just now uncurrent Gen version at least for me in my home location never has those large of Temp swings...it does change some but then you do want smaller temp swings to give better smoke flavor to your meat...
this model is insulated so temp swings are of the past. dont be a hater. I have a 2 ton smoker on a trailer and I think this is great for big parties for those who do not know how to smoke/BBQ with wood.
I have the Recteq 700 and once I set the temp, I never have to worry about any temp changes more than 5-8 degrees and that is rare when it does. The only thing I would like to see RT do is add those bluetooth temp probes that sync with the wifi so we can get rid of the wired probes. I do like the induction side burner! That would indeed be a nice addition to any grill.
Steve, I appreciate what you'd said and I'll personally look into all of that. It would be really nice if you knew how to punctuate properly so I could read your message without having to re-read it 80 times. Busting balls, but yeah man...it's pretty bad.
@@dugjay There are bluetooth temp probes that sync to your phone - don't need to pair them with the grill at all. Having it on your phone lets you monitor it away from the grill.

Please Read This Before You Buy I have the Timberline XL version and my leaks around the door. I figured, once it gunks up it would seal off the leaks. I didn’t get the seasoning help on start up but I was able to do it manually. My biggest issue I had was on Saturday the day before Mother’s Day i was smoking a brisket for 8 hours over night, I took the brisket off and wrapped it. Put brisket back on and when I went to use the meater probe it wouldn’t connect to the grill. So I did forget the Bluetooth device and was going to reprogram and poof, screen died and everything shut off. I was on the phone with traeger for 3 hours and finally they gave up and said motherboard is fried. They are sending me a new one now. I finished brisket off in the oven and it ended up being amazing. Biggest issue is I have a 4500$ paper weight on my back patio with plans to have a pool party this Saturday for another cook. I’m so disappointed in Traeger. One more gripe, the doors aren’t level and they rub. I’ve tried all the adjustments and I still can’t get them straight. I’m trying to be patient and I hope this is the only motherboard that I’ll need to replace. Btw the induction cooktop is awesome. Meater probes sometimes connect, sometimes they don’t. Also I got a flame sensor issue the day before this thing died. Other than that, when you first hook it up to your WiFi, it took me 3 hours of failure until it finally hooked up and then another 2 hours of updates. Don’t think you’ll cook the same day you get this home. I’m going to follow this to answer any other questions people might have. I’m also posting this to every review on YT Forgot to mention, I sold my 3000$ pitts and spitts maverick 1250 for this. I never had one issue.
Bought one of these after watching this video and another from Meat Church. Traeger did a great job getting UA-camrs to promote this, but the grill has been a huge disappointment. Months of time with Traeger technical support, endless forced software updates that regularly fail, multiple failed sensors. I am the proud owner of a $4,000 paperweight - have only managed a couple of cooks in 2+ months without a failure of some sort. Working to return the grill now - won't make a Trager mistake again.
Didn't buy a Traeger (gave them a long look) and decided on a RecTeq. Either way, you can't beat great smoked food...prime rib, BBQ ribs (beef and pork), over the top chili, venison jerky, meat loaf, turkey, spatchcocked chicken, and just smoked some salmon (even better as cold snacks!). Does great pizza and even veggies for those non-carnivians!
My pellet grill is used mostly as an outdoor oven. The smoke flavor just isn't there. Plus I've started to really get into charcoal cooking again which has way more flavor in my opinion.
Try different brands of pellets or add a smoke tube or two to get the smoke flavor level you like. There are even charcoal pellets out now by 2-3 different manufacturers. Keep experimenting till you get the best results.
If you really want a more smoky flavor, set aside about 30-45min of smoking at 200 before you increase the heat. Also, spritz your meat. Smoke is attracted to cold and wet.

Love how much it can fit but aren’t you supposed to keep poultry on bottom rack so it doesn’t drip onto & contaminate the other meats? Looks amazing just what I’ve been told
I would normally agree but with ribs that are going to be cooked for 5ish hours I kind of like the idea of the chicken dripping on them...I bet he did it on purpose I would and I wouldn't have a worry in the world because of the cook time.
That Treager looks SO awesome and as always you nailed it! I'm just not the type of guy that 'twists a button' to get my temp up. I love using charcoal over gas.

Traeger doing some nice marketing giving these out to all the youtubers. A lot of cash for chinese cold rolled steel. All the gadgetry in the world cannot make up for the lack of build quality. Thin, cheap steel is no match for mother nature.
