Had the opportunity to have Zach as our Perch Patrol Guide this winter. He's a awesome guide and a great person that loves to fish. Can't wait to go back and fish with him again next year.
My brother and i like to say those jumbo perch got shoulders, but i like the helmet comparison too 😂 we have a secret little lake here in mt thats been producing some monster perch the last two years or so.
@ 11:55 .... “if you even imagine a bite, set the hook” ... I need to work on my jigging reflexes! Great video guys! Headed to Devils Lake in February!
Awesome video, I will have to try some brush fishing on Falcon Lake in Manitoba or some of the nearby smaller stocked lakes. Cool to also see a Great Blue Heron colony in the background (3:30)
When you are lipping perch, they are nice fish for sure! Really enjoyed the video. Might have to make the trek out to Nodak if this perch bite keeps up!
mic check....Yo-Yo-Yo...another great show from the dude behind the name of Jay-Em-Oh.....fish always bite fast for him, they never bite Slow.....while other playas get krunked up, he likes to go, "Lines Down Yo!"
another quality video, thank you. Booked with perch control,Devils lake on the 12th this weekend. Linn county . Iowa first time in my life time no ice here.
I’ve know of 3 different groups of guys from my area that have fished Devils this year. Guided trips. Really struggling on the perch bite. But the walleye bite has been pretty good. Not sure what’s going on in Devils lake. I remember schools of perch the size of a city block and unbelievable perching all day long. Last 2 times picking off a few here and there not marking many fish. And these were guided trips.
Jason Mitchell Outdoors thank you! Consider putting the link in the description of future videos. I like the hats. Had some pretty cool video angles. A split screen with you jigging and the vexlar flashing would be cool.
Jason I enjoyed the video. No ice here in Central IA, but I think that will change soon. Do you keep the jigs/ lures that you are going to be using for the day in box on your pro pack?
Hi Jason, Myself and 5 friends just recently fished devils lake, through woodland resort, for the first time, and we are going to come back and fish next winter. My question is, when your fishing 40ft of water, how do you successfully differentiate between large mature fish and other smaller age classes? My friends and I found ourselves weeding through many small fish, Wishing we could throw them back, but being unable to in the deep water.
That can be really tough on Devils Lake and a big down fall of fishing deep. If the fish feels small, try and shake it off or reel really slow. If you are only catching small fish, moving can sometimes help but the big perch are often mixed right with the small perch. Pinch the barbs down
Great video, and great fishing. I fish alot of flooded timber in my area but its alot shallower 12ft max the fish dont seem to bunch up as much is that common on shallower water ?
That seems to be the case from our experiences as well. Fish use timber or brush at any depth but the deep and tall piles seem to hold bigger schools of fish bunched up.
I find a lot of spots and didn’t know I didn’t find my own spots. Enjoy looking for fish. Not sure what you are trying to imply or what you are referring to.
Outdoors 26 I sometimes film episodes by myself but I enjoy having other people on the show. I like to try and help other people with their own careers and other people bring a lot to the show with their knowledge and insights. I personally believe the content is much richer by incorporating as many different people as possible. Much easier to produce an episode with the interaction. I also don’t know everything and don’t really care about being the star of the show.
Hey Jason, I love watching your ice fishing videos. I was wondering if you have any old ice flashers that you would be willing to sell. Thanks!! Also your 32M Dead Meat combo is 🔥🔥

@@JasonMitchellOutdoors well I'm glad I'm not the only one.. thankyou for the quick reply!
what is your preference on your line.. Both mono and braid. Thanks. Great video. I really like the dead meat rod.. Its my favorite ice rod.
Thanks for using our products! I really like the 6 lb Frost Braid with a six pound mono of fluorocarbon leader for deep perch.

Why don’t you find your own spots Jason
I find a lot of spots and didn’t know I didn’t find my own spots. Enjoy looking for fish. Not sure what you are trying to imply or what you are referring to.
Why do you have the guide then
If so I was just asking
I got to go with bry’s and it’s got a flooded farm on it

Was this video this season or last year?
This season, early January.
Thanks! I have fished Stump a few times, the size looks good on those. There is a great place to stay in Pekin right near stump.
Lower Michigan doesn’t even have an ice season yet😭
Hopefully soon👍
