Thank you for taking me on your vacation I enjoyed the Stone Mountain the tram ride and many of the sites I also like the pumpkins thanks for taking me along what a great video this was take care
Will and Dawn, really enjoyed your vlog! Thank you for taking me along with you to places I'll never get to see for myself! Absolutely beautiful and stunning scenery and loved the carving on the mountain! Loved the lights and light show at the end!
Another great video! Enjoyed it Will and Dawn. We were at Stone Mountain but they didn't have all that stuff to do when we were there. They didn't have that village and the pumpkins nor did we ride the train. We only went on the tram ride to the top. The view is beautiful up there. It is always greatvto see you 2 and Chris and Mindy all together. Love your adventures! Thanks for sharing them with us.
We definitely will need to add this to our list of places to go near us. Y’all looked like y’all had so much fun. I live when y’all do things with Chris and Mindy. Thanks for sharing. God bless.
Glad y'all made it to Georgia. When I was little, I remember walking up Stone Mountain all the time. There wasn't a tram or anything. They finally got the train. And it was a ride for sure. The ladies wore antebellum dresses with all the crinolines and bandits would jump on the trains with play guns. I remember it scaring me. Mama said it's just play acting. Y'all need to come around the July4th. Excellent show.
@@asianprince8718 Yeah they have the Yellow Daisy Festival, Pumpkin Festival, Native American Pow wow and Festival, Stone Mountain Christmas, and Summer at the Rock. :)
I went there in June but only to see the laser show. I'm from NJ and was visiting. I wish I had known how amazing this place was... with the exception of the laser show, everything was already closed when we showed up!
Wow, my parents took us as kids, I haven't been since I was 10 they didn't have all that stuff back then, I will definitely have to go back. Thanks for sharing
There used to be a monastery down there, towards the east end of the rock, I’m thinking maybe 1960 I was there , my Dad was going to Emory University,, they weren’t but about halfway done with the carvings then.
Everything about that ride in the gondola and then no fencing on that high rock scared the crap out if me. 🥴 I never trust my life to cable's. You guys are brave! 😆 I didn't realize all of the fun things to do at Stone z t. Pretty awesome.
Thanks, Will and Dawn, for a great video. Is that show on all of October? I'm looking to go camping there in October of next year. Let me know if you know when the shows begins.
Wow, I didn't know there was so much to do at Stone Mountain! We went in 1960. My oldest brother was at Fort Jackson and we went to see him. There was nothing but the huge rock mountain with the beautiful carving on the side. Of course my bridesdoll went along because she couldn't stay home alone. Loved this and thanks.
I lived in Stone Mountain until 1979. I went to Stone Mountain Elementary school. On Halloween day we used to be able to dress up and after school all the students would walk to the old part of Stone Mountain down Main St. for a Halloween carnival. It was always a lot of fun. Stone Mountain has changed a lot over the years. We used to climb Stone Mountain every year. I couldn't climb it anymore these days...lol!! I'd have to ride the sky lift instead these days. My family and I talked about going to the lazy show for Halloween, but we didn't. I wish we had of now. I have a lot of childhood memories from living there. I'm glad you guys shared this with us. I hope you all had a good time. 👍
@@yankeeinthesouth, thank you for letting me share them with you. I could go on and on about my memories there as a little girl. My dad passed away when I was only 10 years old. He is buried there. I went to visit his grave about 3 weeks ago and boy it has changed so a lot out there compared to what it used to be like. Not the safest place to be nowdays, but being inside the park is still fun. Thank you guys for taking us along on your trip. 👍❤
@@asianprince8718 , it was crowed some back then too, but not as crowded as it is today. It wasn't as dangerous as it is now. Like I said, it's probably pretty safe inside the park though. My husband and his family was from there too. I didn't meet my husband in Stone Mountain, but when we found out we were both from Stone Mountain we figured out we had a lot in common. Even his family is buried in the same cemetery as my family is buried. It's too bad things have gotten so out of control out there though. Anywhere in and around the metro Atlanta areas are dangerous nowadays. That sad too, because we used to go to Atlanta and watch the lightning of the Christmas tree every year when I was growing up. We'd go to ball games or concerts at the Omni, but it's just not safe anymore. Can't go shopping out in those areas anymore either. Every year at Christmas time they would and still do have a Christms tree lite up on top of Stone Mountain. That was always fun to see as well.

Spending a week at stone mt camp ground, our loop (R) is not the best sites to be sure. Very uneven, and close. They may be full hookup but that the only plus! We bought activity passes at $50.00+. Activities shut down if there is a chance of rain, NO EXCHANGE OR REFUND! Not likely to return here.
Have you guys ever been to Stone Mountain State Park in NC? We just explored that area and it’s well worth a visit. We’ll have a video and blog post out soon on it.
I went there about 9yrs ago and had a blast. Then went there this summer and about a third of the stuff was closed, restaurants were out of basics, bathrooms a mess etc... Come to find out, the state owns the park, yet its operated by a 3rd party company who was backing out of their contract. They blamed it on the "tension" the culture caused in society and the pandemic caused a drop in attendance. Hopefully the new operators bring the park back to it's former glory.
