Past data shows france to be a more reliable and less agenda driven partner. for such a critical project we should have selected them. cooperation with the us can be on other (less critical areas) as well econonomically. when negotiating with other countries you have to compartmentalize and prioritize your own critical requirements.

Aadi, I agree totally with you about developing our own engine. But I have doubts about the capability of the GTRE. This organisation is filled with incompetent babus with a few technical people thrown in. Not a single engine has been delivered.
India signed another deal of engines for AMCA fighters. Reaper drones etc. Apache longbow AH64D choppers, globemasters, chinhooks too.
How can India go ahead with the US if it's credibility is in question due to the current geo political situation.
India should either develop its own engine and military hardware or should buy Russian weapons. We do not have any other choice.
