In the '70s I had the privilege of first listening to and later booking Junior at 'The Angry Squire'. My first experience was last set on a Sat night in '75. The Squire was standing room only with drunken artists from both El Quijotè at the Chelsea and the Blarney Stone next door, you could hear a pin drop. When Junior finished his rhythmic incredibly rich bluesy rendering the place erupted. I got to know the very nice Junior over the years and booked him at a later point. I heard him play this song many times, he never played it the same and he never disappointed. RIP Junior
Use to see Junior Mance in Rochester, New York at the Monticello Room in the 70's. A beautiful person and great pianist. Thank you for the wonderful memories.

Such a peach of a tune. Love the Nina version and Taylor version, but this pace works too!

Played in F. The solos are largely in F penta, say F6 instead of F. As this is the original leadsheet key, it is an instructive video. Thanks a lot.
RIP Junior Mance 1928-2021

I worked opposite Junior and his trio once at the Village Gate with my own TL Davis Review back in the early 70's. It was a gas
@ 23181850: Junior plays at Cafe Loup on 13th Street in NYC most every Sunday night. 83 years old and getting better and better.
This is mostly superb, the drummer is far too loud, but Junior is in great form. I have not heard any thing of him for years. Please post some more
Can anyone say me what album I can listen to this trio?
Bruno C. I’d start with “Happy Time”.
