Warhogs with Gauss are better than normal ones, they do more damage in the same amount of time, only now they are able to do more damage to armored troops like the Wraith and the Scorpion, but in confrontations with heavy armored vehicles, the last thing you should do is leave them still, especially if you are fighting Wraiths.
Shot for shot, they are better. But they have a few issues: 1) overkill - similar to a sniper, which means wasted DPS 2) inconsistent DPS - chain gun shoots 100% of the time, gauss does not as it has to change targets 3) projectile missing - chain gun does not miss. I've chased banshee with a gauss + wolve comp before and have seen many times 10 gauss shots go for one banshee. The first two hit and kill while the other 8 are just wasted.
that is valid, I'm not going to lie to you, but gausshogs are not for that, they are only for structures and heavy vehicles like tanks and vultures. If you are going to find banshees, you take wolverines to let them fight against the aerial vehicles and the gausshogs are for priority objectives. It's like when you take vultures, you don't shoot all your missiles at a group of grunts, unless they are heavy grunts and they are beating the shit out of you. Then it would make a little more sense. The combinations go hand in hand with strategy, not just with brute force.
