Iconic/classic surfing instrumental from the 60s. This was written and recorded quickly in late '62 and early '63 as a 'b' side by 'The Surfaris'
and reached #2 in the US and #5 in the UK.
It also reached #10 in the US Hot R&B singles
chart.
US label Dot reissued the
single in April '63 when DJ's flipped it and played 'Wipeout' which then took off through the summer of that year.
