Ok, so I will say that Die Stem Van Suid Afrika was a better anthem, but this is also not bad! It’s interesting how similar it is to the Germany anthem; not just the music but also the structure as a whole.
Nostalgia of a by gone era never to return as Africa generally and specifically South Africa is 🇿🇦 transformed by progressive ideas. Trust that the language will survive, but I think this youngest language will be lost, perhaps not entirely . So sad. Even my own language, Hebrew, having been resurrected, is slowly eroding as is in the case too of yiddish. Shalom , G'day and totsiens from Australia 🇦🇺.
If only White Run South Africa after Britain wasn't a complete mess of human rights violations. where both races could prosper unlike the modern south African republic under the ANC and Apartheid republic under the national party. then I wouldn't fell guilty for liking this song. @@KingOfInsanity777 yes we just want the land that our fathers paid for so dearly with their own blood. We only want the Oranje vrijstaat and the Transvaal. There were almost no blacks living in those areas and the rest of south Africa is not our problem but the blame always gets put on us when in reality Apartheid was a British system and they just dumped all their problems on the Afrikaners. The Boere wanted to reinstate the Boer republics after the British left SA but the National Party rejected the idea which only worsened the situation.

To help me learn afrikaans I bought a book called "teach yourself afrikaans" by Helena van Schalkwyk
The best way to learn Afrikaans is to speak with a Afrikaans person we are always willing to teach others our Beautiful Language ..
Just learn Dutch on the A levels, then forget about any grammar, that's Afrikaans

The German Emperor was sympathetic towards the Boer cause in the Second Boer War, this adaptation of Das Lied Der Deutschen is just a sign of respect.
