Heidi stayed with the group because it’s a job, why would anyone leave a job they enjoy? You can see every single performance Heidi was in her element. I think the girls leaving and being replaced ec is all to do with the groups former management and less to do with the actual girls. Each line up has had massive success and great work and chemistry together
Mutyas face lights up everyoe Siobhan sings when they did acoustic versions of Sugababes songs. These two were the start of the Sugababes, the group was formed around those two and they remained in contact when Siobhan left. It's so nice that they are back together. Both Keisha and Mutya said One Touch was their favorite Sugababes album and they were the most creatively happy with this line up.
She was really unhappy when Siobhan left and they remained friends as well. I love seeing her face when they do Caught in a momemt, when Siobhan sings, Mutya always is smiling away and singing along, it's so nice to see the three of them so happy.
I think it may also be because Heidi's era recalls some bad memories to Mutya, as 2003/2004 was the begining of her depression. I think she may be sad because durinh Sugababes 2.0 she was certainly living her best and her worst life at the same time.
I find Heidi’s behaviour so weird, I don’t understand how she was ok with continuing the group with no originals, and Amelle/Jade replacing all of Keisha/Mutyas vocals. Especially because everyone knows that Mutya and Keisha literally MADE the Sugababes, even years after Mutya leaving, her face and voice were still the first thing people think of when you thought of the Sugababes, she’s so unique and distinct. And now people are pissed that Siobhan is singing Heidi’s parts, but Heidi had no issue with others being replaced
Truthbom! When Keisha left it was initially Amelle who wanted to leave. Heidi and the label took Amelle's side. So there's no reason to feel sorry for Heidi here. I think she's the type of woman who doens't like conflict en bends any way the wind is blowing.
Heidi was doing her job. Just because the others left doesn’t mean she has to follow on her footsteps. Honestly, Mutya did a good job here praising Heidi who got the group their number ones’.
@@loveandpeace_totheworld it was unsettling for me to watch Amelle sing Mutya’s or Jade sing Keishas, and totally weird AF when it was all new members with Heidi, especially when they’d sing classics like Lost in You or Stronger where Mutya/Keisha’s voice were so distinct… Amelle/Jade singing it just sounded wrong
@@RayRayTay90 Please explain how Heidi got them their number 1s? I guess Mutya and Keisha didn't do anything for those number 1s? It was all just Heidi? BULLSHIT and you know it.
I see comments from people saying people underplay Heidi’s role in the group. I don’t feel that’s true. Most fans of any line up do genuinely respect and acknowledge what she brought to the group. However she was a stand in. Management brought her in like an employee and systematically muted the original flavor. The new recipe was advertised like some kind of upgrade but it tasted artificial. This line up. The one that wants to perform together, under the name they came up with, is just authentically and organically correct. And they’ve fought so long and hard to be able to do so.
@@nabojsa at least you are being 100% respectful and giving Mutya and Keisha their props as well.a lot of Heidi fanatics don't do this, they credit Heidi and Heidi only for the groups success, when she though played a part in it, was not the reason for their success, which you put perfectly in your reply. Having said that, all the changes that happened when Siobhan left would of happened had she stayed or had it been another girl other than Heidi, no doubt with similar or the same level of success, who knows. The changes were already being put in place before Siobhan escaped through the toilet window in Japan hahah (she didn't really.....or did she?....)
@@nabojsa Oh Heidi totally deserves credit. And it’s a shame the over explaining of her presence is needed, just as the defense for Siobhan is. Genuine fans of the group have genuine appreciation for all its history. My preference is, and always was, Siobhan. I can be upfront about that; especially as I followed her solo stuff and what they did under MKS. However chart history proves Heidi did bring about a mainstream appeal that kind of revolutionized the group, albeit in a new way. And I was a fan of her era. She may have not been there at the start, or there now, but there is no denying that. And the current line up agrees as well. It makes all these fan debates kind of repetitive and redundant. ❤️
Both Mutya and Keisha have constantly praised Heidi over the years and acknowledged her contribution to the group, even dismissed the rumours that there's beef between them. So why do "fans" feel the need to pit them against each other and make false accusations? Regardless of which lineup is your fave, at least acknowledge the fact that all of them contributed to the group and brought something to the table. They themselves know it, Keisha has mentioned it every time Heidi's name crops up in conversation. It's so-called "fans" who won't let go.
i like all 6 but i blame the label for turning the group into a revolving door. each time a member was replaced it teared away my "faith" in the group, though i did enjoy it from start to end. i respect all their hard work, i just wish the label wouldnt have felt the "need" to replace each member each time, i would have allowed them to be a duo from time to time (maybe with some backing band/dancers if the stage looked to empty). i know there have been plenty of groups (pop or not) with changing members but i wish sugababes wasn't one of them. they could have at least changed their name for their last lineup.
I still think a Sugababes supergroup tour would kill, there's never been anything like it, all members in one tour singing their hits, they could mix it up and switch members around, have all 6 members on certain songs, Amelle/Mutya duet, Siobhan/Heidi duet, it could be incredible if everyone was on board.
Why not allowed mutya and sugabanes in one roof?!! Opportunities missed! It would have been great if sugababes 3.0 + mutya doing talk shows or even collaboration back then. I vote for avengers line up of sugababes from which original and replacement members do a collab together all for the celebration of music and toxic free of comparisons and cat fights.
Heidi seemed like a lovely down to earth gentle lady in S.B. So I hope she was treated with fairness and kindness by the other girls. I LOVE Heidi's voice, more so than Siobhan, but Siobhan is a very good singer and is the original, so I have great respect for Siobhan. It's a shame they can't be a 4sum and include Heidi, but I guess that wouldn't be great for the harmony dynamics. Ultimately Heidi left long ago and we can't live in the past, we can only live in the present and move forward. It would be lovely one day to think all the girls get together for a drink and celebrate the legacy they have created.
I’m so happy the OG sugababes are back but as a REAL fan I get annoyed that Heidi isn’t apart of the group even Amelle as they both contributed a lot I’m glad Mutya was honest especially about Heidi it ha for be said ! For many of us the sugababes growing up was Mutya Keisha Heidi. I hope they form a super group with 5 members it’s only right. (Love Jade but as a solo artist she has a BIG voice)
As a real fan you should know why Heidi is not there and it's laughable saying Amelle contributed a lot, she didn't, it was the struggle bus after about you now and after the way they had Keisha kicked out of the group and then went about lying on her, using the angry black woman she's a bully card, and you really think she should work with 2 girls who did that and still lie to this day about what happened? They are a trio, they have always been a trio, the two main contributing members are there, they have an upcoming tour that's selling out, be happy for them as a "real fan".
REAL fans know why Keisha will never work with Heidi and Amelle anymore. The reason she reunited with the other Originals was because Amelle and Heidi kicke her out of her own group. I'm gobsmacked at the amount of people who still dont know this or ignore it because well Sugababes did mor sugary pop songs like About You Now and Push The Button then which they love but are competely ignorant to Keisha's situation with them and also low-key disrespect Siobhan at the same time. ( Not you, but i read it alot). If Heidi and Amelle wanted to share a stage with Keisha, they should not have had her sacked behind her back! It's not gonna happen, they remain not booked.
@@Right_Direction_ Damn right and they got the third original member back that is not only vocally but also artisticly as a writer, solo artist etc. so much superior to any replacements. This is not only the Original line up, it's the most talented, most diverse and most interesting looking one and they are actually getting along. No need to give snakes a stage.
@@Marc-zi5cq You hit the nail on the head with everything you said. REAL fans would not want to make Keisha unhappy and have someone there she doesn't want to work with just to please them, especially when if it were them in the situation they would probably feel the same way Keisha does and wouldn't work with someone who fucked them over and then lied about them afterwards, because let's face it that's exactly what Heidi did. A snakes a snake at the end of the day.
@@Right_Direction_ Exactly. I'm a real fan, i remember when Keisha was on twitter and posting about being excited to shoot the About A Girl video, she was in LA already. They kicked her out, flew someone else in, mime to her vocals to shoot the video and THEN recorded the version without Keisha. It was so messy. No fan of the Sugababes could support the mess they did to her. Siobhan and Keisha get along as adults. Mutya and Siobhan and Mutya and Keisha always got along, this is it. Heidi fans need to give it a break. 4.0 had their shot, Freedom bombed, they got dropped. They retired. 1.0 are being booked, they don't need to support people who fucked Keisha over. REAL fans know Keisha's song Gimme Pressure, she said everything she needed to say and that's that. Keisha, Mutya, Siobhan is here to stay and selling tickets.
The fact that this group managed to make it big in the industry for several years with all that was going on between them off-stage still amazes me. I guess the music was good enough and the feud kept them going. I think Heidi is more recognizable as an original member than Siobhan will ever be, but I'm glad the original line-up got back together and can promote as Sugababes again. I don't think Heidi would fit in with Mutya and Keisha nowadays.
Must be so awkward when they get asked things like that. Especially when she chose to leave. Her and soibhon can’t say anything about Heidi or Amelle because it was their choice to leave.
Always wonder if Sioban had any involvement in angels with dirty faces or if Heidi was brought in before that? Amelle and Jade both came in mid album and re-recorded vocals on the finished albums
Demos were started but Siobhan leaving, Heidi joining and being approached to record the vocals for Freak Like Me most likely shifted the sonic direction of what ended up being Angels With Dirty Faces.
I think Heidi was involved way more and just didn't re-record. "Stronger" was inspired by Heidi moving to London on her own. And she wrote her own part of "Round Round" for example. I think the songs were all written after Siobhan left and Heidi joined.
@nabojsa You make a fair and valid point. Being from South Africa, I haven't had the opportunity to experience any of the line ups singing live, with the exception of a few UA-cam videos and with evidence as well as your argument I would have to agree. It's just that I fell inlove with the group when Heidi joined and I miss her being part of the group.
@@nabojsa there’s no rules… look how destiny child changed from 4 to three and visa versa with other groups. They could easily in my opinion form a super group with 5 members (Heidi & Amelle as they have each contributed to the bands main stream success).
@@obibraxton2232 They are a trio. Heidi contributed a lot. Amelle contributed to their ultimate downfall. No to a super group, they are a trio, they have a trio line up and they are amazing.
That last Sugababes line-up was so far detached from what made the Sugababes the 'Sugababes.' They started as the epitome of credibility to suddendly generic music you hear in Primark. I'm so glad I went to see the original (and best- no offence, I loved Heidi but she could NOT sing live) Sugababes during their 2022 tour.
Let's face it Heidi was brought in for looks and to gain a mainstream audience. People are really out here pretending that Heidi didn't have a mediocre voice and bland personality. Did you really get hyped, feel the emotion, or energy when she sang? There's not a single time I ever felt that from her AT ALL.
Well I happen to love Heidi's voice, find plenty of emotion therein (and let's remember we are talking of mainstream music still, with a certain amount of emotion inevitably lost by default) and always liked her sweet charisma. And I think a lot of people did and saw her as the most approachable of the trio. An input of an individual into a group is quite a complex thing and I in all honesty really don't like throwing any of the members into a bag, let alone dirt, for just some aspects. The decision to continue with line-up 4, well, there's a lot of rumours, very few facts. What is certain, human relations failed within that group. I would be hesitant to place it on a single member only. So, not being there, I simply respect her decision to continue as a Sugababe for the sake of keeping a job and body of work, one I believe she loved and has put a ton of energy and time into (and probably calculating Amelle was in the band for long enough to carry on as Sugababes).
the group had their best songs with Heidi i'll be honest as a kid i had never heard of the sugababes till heidi joined and freak like me was released most casual fans don't even know there was another line up before heidi, heidi has been done dirty she was there for their golden era and now is just discarded like she was nothing to the group

I love Siobhan.... but if there will be a time that Sugababes expanded to four with one of the replacements... No question Heidi should be in. Amelle can stay far away, and as for Jade... it wasn't her fault, she was in a wrong place at the wrong time.
When I think of the sugababes, then of course I also think of Heidi, because she was in the band for a long time. However, I think I had the worst voice out of all the members (including Jade and Amelle) and was overshadowed by Keisha and Mutya.
its weird people saying heidi brings the commercial success to the band which is a not important thing for the girls.. mutya and keisha are looking just musical taste instead of a mainstream thing. thats why they love one touch and praise the harmony eith siobhan. I dont ever think sugababes as a commercially no.1 band of uk, this band is for to show us good quality of pop music! thats why keisha and mutya adore siobhan's zero selling but critically acclaimed solo stuffs. How can this be not important? For those who don't leave in UK, the Sugababes didn't exist before Freak like me. I think they were glad to have success all over the world, weren't they? And to be fair, Mutya is the first who left for a solo career...
Sugababes have been very commercial. They received a decent budget and good producers and writers and released 7 albums + a best of within 10 years Without that we would have never been able to enjoy songs like Push the Button or Ugly or Too Lost in you (Last 2 ones written for them. I think the girls leaving and being replaced ec is all to do with the groups former management and less to do with the actual girls. Each line up has had massive success and great work and chemistry together
when she says the name of heidi her face is kinda sad but when she says the name of siobhan her face fills with joy 😍
Mutya has always had huge respect for Siobhan. Long before they got back together, Mutya was praising Siobhan's solo material.
@@kidkad7698Mutya doesnt seem to really like Heidi personally. She did compare heidi to a snake when keisha was kicked out.
Sorry but this is just rumours.
Mutya gave a totally mature answer
Big up mutya,
Big love

I see comments from people saying people underplay Heidi’s role in the group. I don’t feel that’s true. Most fans of any line up do genuinely respect and acknowledge what she brought to the group.
However she was a stand in.
Management brought her in like an employee and systematically muted the original flavor.
The new recipe was advertised like some kind of upgrade but it tasted artificial.
This line up. The one that wants to perform together, under the name they came up with, is just authentically and organically correct.
And they’ve fought so long and hard to be able to do so.
100%
❤️
Facts!!!
I totally agree 👍🏻
I still think a Sugababes supergroup tour would kill, there's never been anything like it, all members in one tour singing their hits, they could mix it up and switch members around, have all 6 members on certain songs, Amelle/Mutya duet, Siobhan/Heidi duet, it could be incredible if everyone was on board.
HEIDI IS A QUEEN !!!!!!!
It doesn't really matter about who gives credit to who.
We all know what the best line up was and that will always include Heidi.
MUTYA ICON
Why not allowed mutya and sugabanes in one roof?!! Opportunities missed! It would have been great if sugababes 3.0 + mutya doing talk shows or even collaboration back then. I vote for avengers line up of sugababes from which original and replacement members do a collab together all for the celebration of music and toxic free of comparisons and cat fights.
Mutya chose to leave...
I hope y'all not forgetting that..
Love Heidi.. She's a sugababe to me..
Love the last line up too
Truth ❤
Heidi was the original and longest running member
Sugababes, not Sugarbabes 😑
They did some proper SONGS !
Can I watch the whole interview somewhere?
How come you don't think Heidi would fit in with muyta and Keisha
My babes are mutya and keisha 🥰😍
Love my original girls
Heidi's voice and look made this group stunning...
Heidi Mutya Keisha will always be The real sugababes they were best then 👍🏻
Love the heidi amelle jade lineup
The Sugababes lineup should be as follows : Mutya, Keisha, Siobhan AND Heidi.
Chriskent 😊❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉
Love you
Heidi was one of my favourites Ngl out of all of them
I like how her replacement looks just like her.
I discovered the group with Heidi and her vocals and energy to the group is what I love about the sugababes. Never been fussed on Mutya.
For me as a true SB fan, Heidi Range was and will always be the Queen Sugababe. Heidi catapulted the group to superstar status
Who has their Tickets??
Wonder if 1.0 would ever hit up Xeno for a new album. Ace Reject and Red Dress are still my fave tracks (srr Mutya I know you hate hate hate RD)
She is ok with it now :(
They just hate Ace Reject and as much as I love Keisha, she should give the song another chance... It is my fav. album track
Be careful you are gonna get jumped on and called all kinda names by Heidi and trash bag Amelle fans for stating the obvious.
@@Neonrain08 Please explain how Heidi is being discarded? And I guess you were ok with Heidi and Amelle getting Keisha kicked out of her own group, then going about destroying her reputation? Ever thought that maybe the reason why Keisha and Mutya went to Siobhan to reform TEN YEARS AGO and not to the one who backstabbed and then lied to fans? Mmmmmm.
And everybody knows there was a line up before Heidi, Overload was a massive hit.
The funny thing is Heidi was originally in Atomic 💣 Kitten 😸
I love Siobhan.... but if there will be a time that Sugababes expanded to four with one of the replacements... No question Heidi should be in. Amelle can stay far away, and as for Jade... it wasn't her fault, she was in a wrong place at the wrong time.
The top 4 messiest girl group dramas
1. Pussycat Dolls
2. Destiny's Child
3. Sugababes
4. Fifth Harmony
All Saints too
Xscape 😂😂😂 messiest as of now
Mutya looks like a trashy rock n roll nowadays, but still a legend.
Oh
Did she call Jade “Jayden”?
Let us remember that Heidi was chosen by Keisha and Mutya cause she sounded like Siobhan.
No no no. The band management chose Heidi not the two. Remember Mutya didn't talk to Heidi first time they met
When I think of the sugababes, then of course I also think of Heidi, because she was in the band for a long time. However, I think I had the worst voice out of all the members (including Jade and Amelle) and was overshadowed by Keisha and Mutya.
She blatantly just dodged the question
The question was not answered!
its weird people saying heidi brings the commercial success to the band which is a not important thing for the girls.. mutya and keisha are looking just musical taste instead of a mainstream thing. thats why they love one touch and praise the harmony eith siobhan. I dont ever think sugababes as a commercially no.1 band of uk, this band is for to show us good quality of pop music! thats why keisha and mutya adore siobhan's zero selling but critically acclaimed solo stuffs. I dont think that they were happy at even a single moment when they were with heidi. I like heidi as a human being btw
How can this be not important? For those who don't leave in UK, the Sugababes didn't exist before Freak like me. I think they were glad to have success all over the world, weren't they? And to be fair, Mutya is the first who left for a solo career...
Sugababes have been very commercial. They received a decent budget and good producers and writers and released 7 albums + a best of within 10 years
Without that we would have never been able to enjoy songs like Push the Button or Ugly or Too Lost in you (Last 2 ones written for them. Diana Warren wrote it TLIY I think).
You can release good music AND be commercial.
@@chiaraf633 For thosewho don't live in the UK the Sugababes didn't exist before Freak Like Me? Germany, Japan, Australia disagree with you. Overload was a hit, One Touch still remains their biggest seller in Germany and their 3rd biggest in Japan.
@@Right_Direction_ my bad, I cannot speak for the entire world. But they became more successful worldwide after Heidi joined the group, this is undeniable
She didn’t really answer the question lol
No Heidi No Sugababes. It was ok when they were an active band to make changes but now as a legacy act it just doesn't work without Heidi as she was the image of their successful eras.
@Day they had two top ten singles without Keisha. They had a top 50 single without Heidi. End of discussion.
@Day "exotic" why? Siobhan is white. Just like Heidi.
Siobhan and Heidi aren't "exotic"
@Day well, one touch underperformed and Sweet7 was a disaster.
Maybe they needed both Heidi and Keisha haha 6 Top10 albums (counting the best of)
@@rayoflight6505 They didn't have the Sugababes name then did they? And 2 top 10 singles after Keisha got kicked out didn't save them did it? Dropped by RocNation, dropped by Island records, couldn't get a new record deal, only managed a distribution deal with RCA, who terminated the deal and gave Freedom away for free. The Sugababes look and sound is Mutya and Keisha, they are there and it's not stopping them getting booked, selling out a tour and getting press support without Heidi. So clearly she's not as important as you think.

But she doesn't answer the question? She talks about her own experience instead of giving an opinion about why 4.0 didn't work out. No wonder nobody wanted her around. She's vain.
