i lost motivation to finish this like a third of the way through, but it looked sad and pathetic just sitting unfinished in my files and here we are :)

I love that Delia is obviously scapegoating her problems in a nonsense idealistic dream to avoid her own pain. Lydia is so pessimistic because she knows that bad things happen and isn't all sunshine because she latches onto her pain. Idk, they two are complete opposites and the animatic perfectly matches it
They both represtion of dealing with grife, neither is particle healthy and that's part of the shows point
i'm sorry to tell you this but saying "be positive" isn't nonsense idealistic dream and if you believe it is you need to seek help
@@cheyannegiles9772 I don't mean be positive, I mean her saying that only looking at the good is the only way. Toxic positivity is a thing as well to look up. Be positive isn't harmful, but ignoring "negative" emotions completely is.
imo this song highlights their similarities rather than their differences. both experienced traumas that made them have this mindset, it’s only the direction of those mindsets that is the difference

you gave them life, you gave them each their own colour, even in the background - only thing you didn't give them was a reason

I’ve seen a lot of animatics, and I have to say, this has to be the best one I’ve ever seen in terms of animation quality.

I literally love delia. Shes so optimistic and the ying to Lydia's yang. I also love her character development in this song and her talking about husband and his bf sailing away to Rome, getting a cat, freezing her eggs, and the "I AM STILL YOUNG!!!!"

I learn about musicals from watching these animatics, and I watched but didn't particularly enjoy the original _Beetlejuice_ , but this is pretty awesome.
That aside, I actually _like_ this version of Delia, since she embodies everything about "New Age" woo, that I love making fun of or just watching others do it, but she isn't a bad person, just misguided and a bit dumb. That, and Lydia's part is magnificently cynical yet undeniably true.
I like this Delia better than movie Delia. Not because she's nicer, but I just find her more appealing - maybe I prefer her schtick here as a life coach. Also, my dad's just setting up a life coaching business. Delia has no idea what she's doing in comparison.
i love the fluid movements. it's all flowy, going by the music and lyrics. Also how the background changes colors to fit what's going on in there. And your art altogether, I think the style's super unique and cool :). I freaking love all of it.

@@mullerpotgieter I’m not saying you’re a bad person or anything mate, I’m just empathetic and I do take dark comedies seriously to an extent because I can learn things from them. Take Heathers, for example (the film, not the musical). I take a lot of things in that movie seriously; multiple characters attempt suicide, and by analyzing their paths towards that, we can learn how to treat people better. There’s lessons to be learned in most every piece of writing.
