Just finished this great movie and couldn't leave my chair while this song was playing, just beautiful. As a senior man now I can remember back in the 70's and 80's actually going to piano bars in my hometown Cleveland and hearing this music live in a lounge. People were dressed nicely, women were feminine and guys had their leather jackets, drinks were poured in glasses, you could smoke if you chose and not have the whole world crying about it. No cell phones bothered the night when the group was playing, people talked and just enjoyed the evening, magic.
Intro was poignantly punctuated by echoing defeaning foot steps leading to Diana's sultry voice. Nowadays you would hear the sound of text messages sent and received, a rather cold and sterile sound if there ever was one.
Just watched The Score for the 2nd time in years & watching the credits woooooow this song is well amazing & she certainly has that special somthing voice & style....
I love the ending of the Score It has Robert De Niro and Angela Bassett walking through the Montreal airport seeing actual passengers (not actors) walking by makes the ending so classic Pre-9/11/2001. Very surreal and nicely done with the silky jazz sounds of Diana Krall!! I miss that time of my life :( good times
I've been listening to Diana Krall since she came onto the scene. So smooth! Her renditions of classic American Songbook tunes have become some of my faves. The fact my friend Tony Bennett loves her voice is the cherry on top!
I've been looking for this song for years! It's not on the movie soundtrack CD and not available for sale anywhere. Only place I can listen to this was at the end of the movie when the credits were rolling. Thanks for posting!
when I was done taking in the Oscar worthy performance of Edward Norton & Robert Deniro I was takin aback when I heard this last song on the soundtrack. no one could have done that song but her.
Thanks for posting this ! I have searched for it several times since enjoying the end credits of the movie. Love the music..smooth Jazz.............Cool.
Same like you guys, when the great movie almost finished, when I heated this romantic song was coming, everything stopped at that moment. I can’t leave my sofa. I tried to search this song in the internet. Yes, it bring me back to that years. Everything was beautiful. Lovely
Remember back To the days When every hour Was spent a different way Whatever comes next There's no way to know I'll make it up as I go Through the years Back and forth Of wearing every night before I never was one For taking it slow I'll make it up as I go Don't count me out Because I know I can Take all that's broken And put it back together again There just isn't a plan There's just no way to know For once in my life I'm setting my sights To make it up as I go And put it back together again There just isn't a plan There's just no way to know For once in my life I'm setting my sights To make it up as I go Whatever comes next There's no way to know I'll make it up as I go As I go I'll make it up as I go
FABULOUS! Was just telling my wife why we had never heard this from Ms. Krall!!?? Kudos to the Jeff Hamilton trio, Jeff Hamilton, Clayton Hamilton, and his Mothets other son! Sure miss seeing you all live!!
Channel surfing today I saw that The Score was on and decided to watch it again. I wasn't even attentive to the ending credits last time, but this time I was and heard this lovely song. I am shocked that it never was released for the public to purchase. That was a dumb move, because this is a song I would love to buy. Thanks for posting it on youtube....it gets to live on in the minds and hearts of many music lovers.
Great song and I wasn't happy it wasn't on soundtrack. I had a hard time findng it. Thanks for uploading it on You Tube. The movie "The Score" was very good and noted for Marlon Brando's final role.
For a moment I thought it was "Nancy Wilson". Watched this movie a thousand times. And finally watched it til the end only to prove myself wrong. But the music was still ole so right.
lector, Thanks so much for posting this. I cannot believe this was not on the soundtrack of the movie The Score. I also can't believe this has not been released on CD. Great song.
Thanks. I've always wanted to find this song without all the people walking in the beginning (which means I guess this was ripped straight from the film). A beautiful ending song to "the Score!"
THANK YOU SO MUCH for having this wonderful song! Why on earth isn't it on one of DK's CD's???? Here's another one that is IM-POSSIBLE to find: Oleta Adams "Watch What Happens". Spellbinding recording!!! THANKS again! Moviebuff1954
Beautiful song and I can't find it anywhere else except with The Score. “The Edge”with Anthony Hopkins from 1997 is another movie that has a terrific hidden treasure in the end credits with a jazzy song (instrumental) ) written by Jerry Goldsmith. Maybe somebody could post it on UA-cam.
I heard this song in 2002 when I was engaged to be married. My Ex and I wanted this as our song. Imagine my surprise to find out it was never released. Even wrote the record company pleading with them. No luck and had to choose another song. Probably why the marriage failed. Ah well. Still a powerful jazz ballad.
This song should have been included in the Score's soundtrack, along with the jazz songs performed by Cassandra Wilson and Mose Allison during the movie. For some reason they excluded all the jazz songs in the movie from the soundtrack.

its magical while reading....
I feel you. These days I wonder if people are capable of using bathroom without cell phone.....
Its funny how "The Score" brought most of us here, beautiful song.
Slade Wilson I thought it was a black woman singing this also she sounds like Natalie Cole
Slade Wilson I agree

Agreed. What a shame it is not found anywhere on single or album
I've been listening to Diana Krall since she came onto the scene. So smooth! Her renditions of classic American Songbook tunes have become some of my faves. The fact my friend Tony Bennett loves her voice is the cherry on top!
Absolutely love this song! Caught me by surprise as the movie credits started to roll. Couldn't leave the theater until it was finished.

What a love song. How can this not be on an album.
Any couple going through a tuff time would listen again and again.
Great stuff!
Diana delivers the sexiest sultry cocktail bar female croon EVER Damn ❤
I love this song. It's bluesy, jazzy notes are so sexy.
Caught my attention at the end of the film. Had to look it up and hear it again and again. Love this.
The Score Brought Me Here
Diana Krall, the best musician who will make you cry!!
I've been looking for this song for years! It's not on the movie soundtrack CD and not available for sale anywhere. Only place I can listen to this was at the end of the movie when the credits were rolling. Thanks for posting!
love this song3
united artists who did the film could not come to an agreement with Diana's recording company and hence song remains unavailable, so thanks to UA-cam.
Diana krall really expresses the meaning of the song. I love it!!!!
when I was done taking in the Oscar worthy performance of Edward Norton & Robert Deniro I was takin aback when I heard this last song on the soundtrack. no one could have done that song but her.
Don't forget big boy Marlon Brando he was excellent.
Classy song, by a classy lady. Great movie too. Thanks for posting. Appreciate it.

Remember back
To the days
When every hour
Was spent a different way
Whatever comes next
There's no way to know
I'll make it up as I go
Through the years
Back and forth
Of wearing every night before
I never was one
For taking it slow
I'll make it up as I go
Don't count me out
Because I know I can
Take all that's broken
And put it back together again
There just isn't a plan
There's just no way to know
For once in my life
I'm setting my sights
To make it up as I go
And put it back together again
There just isn't a plan
There's just no way to know
For once in my life
I'm setting my sights
To make it up as I go
Whatever comes next
There's no way to know
I'll make it up as I go
As I go
I'll make it up as I go
Thank you ever so kindly for sharing those gorgeous lyrics! 😄💞
Thanks!
From "The score(2001)" I hear this beautiful song!
Already had some of Diana's CDs before I saw the Score. This is a good song. Wish I could find a Jazz club like in the movie and kick back!
Simply beautiful.
This song takes me to a wintery evening.
I am disappointed that this song isn't available to purchase.
FABULOUS! Was just telling my wife why we had never heard this from Ms. Krall!!?? Kudos to the Jeff Hamilton trio, Jeff Hamilton, Clayton Hamilton, and his Mothets other son! Sure miss seeing you all live!!

Hey there. Yes. It's a mystery why they couldn't release this tune to the public easily... It took me ages & ages to find this song.
