Thanks Justin! Great song! I get that “kid on Christmas morning” feeling when I wake up and see the notification telling me you’ve posted a new lesson. You’re the best teacher on the web!
Justin and your followers, After the a,b,c run IF you forget to change fingering to move to the C then I find it quicker and smoother to use a barre C chord. Keep up the great work Justin, you continually help create musicians who can learn songs and theory enjoyably. I have been with 'Justin Guitar' for many years now originally starting on classical guitar-nylon strings easier on the fingers then acoustic, electric and Jazz Bass/ P Bass for the past 2 years. Reason: initially a band wanted a Bass player and could not find one after seaching high and low in Perth, Australia, and I had been having lessons for 5 weeks and my tutor recommended me. So, For musicians who would like to jamm with other players and have some fun and learn a lot of bonus material I honestly recommend it, it takes your playing to a different level and you stop worrying when you make a small error.. Most guitarist want to be lead and be front singer but to Jamm [open nights are great fun once u get over the nerves] and have fun I personally found there is a shortage of Drummers and Bass players so it is easier to get into a band. To play Bass well is much harder than you think BUT you can get away with basic stuff to start with [ I started on Root Notes only] and if you also learn the theory there are unlimited benefits towards your acoustic/ electric playing. Not sure how other guitar players feel who started on regular guitar first. Anyway cobber, keep up the great tutoring and I sincerely trust your band is going well. I also am waiting on a few of your T-shirts so you will get some free advertising in Perth. Cheers, Terry p.s, I have been considering joining an orchestra that plays for charity but I need to be level 7 AMEB whatever that is, so I am starting with level 1-5 once i get the materials and see how i go and see how much more playing and theory will be involved to get qualified www.ameb.edu.au/shop/strings/rockschool-bass.html Over the past 30 years or so the majority of people have been kind to me and my wife and I would like to return that kindness someway. What better way of helping by doing something you love.
Thank you once again for all the effort you put in your lessons. You just can't find anybody else on the internet who will put that much diligence into each and every video. I have been following your work for close to ten years now and the quality content you provide is just unique. I have come to terms with it that if it's not on your channel I will have to transcribe it myself (which I know you encourage). Cheers!
As Patrick R said, you're the best instructor that I've ever found, you teach with such care.(sorry...could'nt resist) Seriously, you are a great teacher and I love the detail in your lessons, especially the acoustic classic rock thanks for being here and keep up the GREAT work Justin!
As always thanks....very good lesson fun song...and yes awesome group....one of the best...been with you for year...and recommend you to all my students and friends..
Sure do appreciate it Justin, love playing my bass to this song, after 46 years on bass, I have picked up an acoustic guitar and I must say this tutorial, after checking a few out, helped me the most, thanks a bunch....cheers
Sounds great. Love the way you’re getting the bass lead bits in. I’ve struggled with trying to get this to sound right for a while. You’ve remedied that for me! Thanks bro!
Hey Justin. Your videos are instructive and friendly. Refreshing that you don't try to be too "hip" with your lingo. You just demonstrate with clear explanations. I've subscribed. Thanks, man.
Wonderful lesson, Justin, at the same time I find it a celebration of the legendary talents involved in the song. Tom Petty, George Harrison, and Roy Orbison, gone but never forgotten.
Hey Justin, Always my go to lesson, if you have it. Your the best out there for an accurate lesson thats explained in a way I can understand. Thanks for being the standard by which all others are measured on Utube.
Thanks Justin....picked my guitar up after a few months. Getting back into it..thanks for your website. It’s awesome. The beginners songbook I ordered was great thanks!
Very nice lesson Justin, as always! By the way, despite all Traveling Wilburys credited, this song is written by George Harrison and was to be his new single at the time. The idea of the Traveling Wilburys came as an inspiration to build a supergroup (with his buddies) around this song and only after the song had be written. Though George wrote it all (I think Jeff Lynne may have helped on a lyric or two), he gave credit to all in the band- kind of guy he was. So George wrote the chords on the bridge as well, not Roy Orbison.

Thanks for the lesson. Learnt how to play it from this today, and very happy with it :) Excellent! Thanks. I highly recommend to my Acoustic Guitar Club. Thank You Justin, you are such a great teacher, keep Rocking
Justin!!! First off, I adore you, not only as an AMAZING guitar player, but also as a human being. That aside, I have a request, can you PLEASE do some more lessons from 'The Shins' and Radiohead. Both of them are my absolute favourite bands and I'd be overwhelmed with sheer ecstasy if I could play them. :))
Justin, are you muting the high e string throughout the entire song, including the C chord parts? Or just muting it during the first part of the verses?
Nice one Justin 👍 Firstly, I had a chuckle when you said that the bridge section sounds very Roy Orbison-like, I said to the screen, 'Well Justin that's because Roy sang the bridge on the track.' 😆 Lastly, another Wilburys one I hope you do is 'The End Of The Line.' It was recorded around the time of Roy's death. He died before the video was made, and if you watch the video carefully during the parts where Roy sings, you see all of the Wilburys sat in a circle playing their guitars but they put Roy's guitar on what I think was a rocking chair that rocked back and forth to his singing.....It was a nice touch by the others but it's also quite sad in the context that he'd just died 😢
Also, what helped me with rhythm is, think of your right hand as a drum. Try putting the guitar down amd just tapping out the rhythm to wonderwall on a table (or even the body of your guitar) then try doing the same thing on the guitar not thinking of ups and downs.
Another great lesson thanks Mate! I would like to see your version of "Year of the Cat" I think it's a lot like "Sultans of Swing" in style. Your the best thanks for teaching!
I heard Tom Petty speaking about this song (which I love) As you suggest they all in a hand in working out the chord progression, then George Harrison agreed to work on the words, which he revealed the next morning complete.
Well done, thank you! Very simply explained 😊 Working on this one with my band and loving the acoustic guitar in this arrangement. Now if I can just get the gents to get in front of a mike ... 😂
Thanks Justin for another great lesson, only one observation, I think or at least my ear asks me that before the chorus and after the G it can go a G7....I'm really crazy or is it logical?
Hi Justin, Great Lesson. Just one question, and it is not a criticism as it applies to most of the online teacher's Question is, why is it most of the guitar teachers cannot sing ? (Hope you are not offended)
Awesome Justin. Thanks so much. - Off topic, but any chance you could make some shirts with the logo on the back rather than front? I know, odd. I'd love to purchase a couple. Thanks.
Thanks Justin. At 50+, I've been following you for years. I have your aps, books and sound track albums. I'd love a shirt, but have passed the days of front of shirt logos. Would love a small logo over the breast pocket area, or on the back. Maybe it's just me [and age], but I prefer to be understated than over. Thanks much.
JustinGuitar Songs very true. The music lives forever. Always remember listening to this music in my dads car when I was a kid. Now its always on in mine. 👍 thnks again Justin.
Great way to learn. I am 62 and learned this song for the first time. Thanks..

Great lesson. Still going strong after all these years. Thanks!
If there was ever a song that would get me to pick up a guitar and learn to play it, this is the one.

Yeah I needed them in when I played it for my own enjoyment :) glad you dig!
Hey Justin. Your videos are instructive and friendly. Refreshing that you don't try to be too "hip" with your lingo. You just demonstrate with clear explanations. I've subscribed. Thanks, man.
Love that G augmented chord! All other tutorials I’ve seen use B7 but not quite right! Thanks Justin 👍
Love the Wilburys and your lessons, 74 learning to play the guitar. Just learned the End Of The Line, Looking forward to learning this one.
Wonderful lesson, Justin, at the same time I find it a celebration of the legendary talents involved in the song. Tom Petty, George Harrison, and Roy Orbison, gone but never forgotten.
Your lesson are just enjoyable and helpful, thank you!
Justin, thank you for this excellent lesson.
Great Song and great lesson. You really terrific given that the record has 4 great guitar players and who knows how many house players.
Another brilliant tutorial Justin , on how to play handle with care . Many thanks
love the G+ chord other sites say it's a B7, but clearly not that...thx so much Orbisonish
Justin, this was a fantastic lesson. Like so many people, I miss these guys. Definitely one for the acoustic song book. Hope your voice is recovered.
Hey Justin, Always my go to lesson, if you have it. Your the best out there for an accurate lesson thats explained in a way I can understand. Thanks for being the standard by which all others are measured on Utube.
Another great lesson! Its those "pushed" changes gave pettys music a unique groove. Very important.
Yeah I’d not come across pushes at all until I learnt the Beatles In My Life, that’s another really cool song to learn 😉
Thanks Justin....picked my guitar up after a few months. Getting back into it..thanks for your website. It’s awesome. The beginners songbook I ordered was great thanks!
Thanks :)

I really dig the "mysterious" chords! Thanks.
thank you so much for this one Justin, so well taught as always
Great run on Petty lessons - thanks !!
It needed to be. A great loss that I discovered too late in my musical life!
thanks for all the lessons J over the years 10 r 11 I think best man on the tube
Thanks Justin the strumming usually comes naturally if you are familiar with the song for me anyway
Great lesson Justin thank you i am very near to getting it now.
love the rich fullness of the acoustic, thanks for helping me be a better player.
This is a very nice tutorial. I do it with complete finger picking though. Lends itself to the bass runs a bit easier.
thanks for the lesson, Justin.....you're a great teacher...
Its always inspirational to see you justin🤘
Thx Desert!

Great lesson on a great song.
Decent work. I like how you did the G Aug in the refrain, but it is only done twice. Third time is a B7. Follow the bass notes for confirmation.
Great Lesson!!!
this is awesome. period and period again. Thank You
That was very helpful. Great explanation!
Fun arrangement. Thanks Justin.

That was ace DaveW
I learned the song starting starting on a D5 to a C5, then the aregio.
Excellent! Thanks. I highly recommend to my Acoustic Guitar Club.
Smashing tune! Cheers J
awesome eh!
Justin, are you muting the high e string throughout the entire song, including the C chord parts? Or just muting it during the first part of the verses?

Excelente tema de una super banda
Great song!
sure is!
Love your videos-I own all your books and discs. Would you consider doing some Replacements and Paul Westerberg songs? Thanks
The little push chords make a rhythmic difference in this song.
Hey ! can u please do a lesson on 'Across the Overpass'- The Solids ?
Also, what helped me with rhythm is, think of your right hand as a drum. Try putting the guitar down amd just tapping out the rhythm to wonderwall on a table (or even the body of your guitar) then try doing the same thing on the guitar not thinking of ups and downs.
Yep, good plan!

Awesome! Jeff is my favorite tho.
That was a quick t-shirt change!
yeah, could have done with an iron though ;)
sir pls upload the one i love by rem thank you
Cant wait to learn this one. Will you ever do a rolling stones song book? What with almost all their songs being instant classics :)
Maybe one day!
Someone else online uses a B7 in place of the G augmented. Easier to play the D sharp note. ??
Well done, thank you! Very simply explained 😊 Working on this one with my band and loving the acoustic guitar in this arrangement. Now if I can just get the gents to get in front of a mike ... 😂
Spooky. I was about to give up on learning this. I'd been struggling with the fingering on the run. Thanks so much Justin quality lesson as usual.
Thanks Justin for another great lesson, only one observation, I think or at least my ear asks me that before the chorus and after the G it can go a G7....I'm really crazy or is it logical?
Hey Justin please upload "how to play beauty and the beast prologue" please
Hi Justin, Great Lesson. Just one question, and it is not a criticism as it applies to most of the online teacher's Question is, why is it most of the guitar teachers cannot sing ? (Hope you are not offended)
Really?

Justin you would've been a nice fit to the wilbury band.
try social distortion, they have some amazing songs, try it :D and btw, well played
will have a listen!
You're missing the extra note walkdown
love the rich fullness of the acoustic, thanks for helping me be a better player.
Really like your lessons, could you do Tom Petty’s Listen to Her Heart
Can you revisit gone by jack Johnson
Awesome Justin. Thanks so much. - Off topic, but any chance you could make some shirts with the logo on the back rather than front? I know, odd. I'd love to purchase a couple. Thanks.
Let me ask the dudes that do it!!
Thanks Justin. At 50+, I've been following you for years. I have your aps, books and sound track albums. I'd love a shirt, but have passed the days of front of shirt logos. Hi Justin, love your work, could you do a version of "Just a gigolo" by Louis Prima/DLR If not that's ok, it's a good singalong tune :)
Amazing finally a lesson for this song. Shame its been inspired by the sad Tom Petty passing 😢 well done though very inspired to play this thanks
Yes, sad indeed, but better late than never!
JustinGuitar Songs very true. The music lives forever. Always remember listening to this music in my dads car when I was a kid. Now its always on in mine. 👍 thnks again Justin.
