It is 25 years ago now, that designer Dietmar Pohl created his first knife design with the Magnum Collection 1995. The focus of his developments has always been on tactical knives, the image of which he has strongly influenced today. The intensive exchange of experience with Special Units around the world was always important to him in order to be able to incorporate real operational experience into his designs.
When it came to developing the Magnum Collection 2020, it was clear from the outset that it had to be a modern and tactical design, but that it should not deny its roots from the designer's early years. The CNC-machined handle takes up the momentum of the 1995 Magnum Collection, but at the same time the Pohl slotted-hole screw design and deep finger grooves give the knife the classic tactical look that has been known from the designer for many years.
He skillfully combines old and new elements and lets the collector participate in his design language, which he has developed over 25 years. With the massive Spear Point blade made of 5 mm thick D2 steel, he gives the knife the characteristics you would expect from a real knife. The full tang handle gives the Magnum Collection 2020 both the balance and stability it needs to be used reliably even under extreme conditions. The combination of stone washed and satin finish makes the blade relatively resistant to scratches and other signs of wear. This process also helps to make the blade more resistant to corrosion. The black G-10 handles have been sandblasted to give an elegant contrast to the blade.
With the Magnum Collection 2020 Pohl Force Upgrade variant, designer Dietmar Pohl realizes his very personal idea of the design. The upgrade version features the typical Pohl Force lanyard, a Kydex sheath in Coyote brown developed exclusively for the model, a collector's pouch with closable zipper and a 3D Pohl Design anniversary patch. Only 200 pieces will be converted to the upgrade version by Pohl Force. Additionally, the blade has a special lasered logo.
