The band has had three singers. Dave Evans was the original singer; but he never appeared on an AC/DC album. He was on their very first single though. Bon Scott was the singer until 1980; when he trragically passed away. Brian Johnson was hired shortly after Bon's death and has been the singer ever since. Brian was temporarily replaced in 2015 by Axl Rose from Guns N Roses when Brian had to step down due to severe hearing loss.
Bon died, sadly, after choking on his own vomit in 1980. He was left alone in an automobile, to sleep his drunkenness off, when he died. Although he was only with the band for seven years, as opposed to Brian Johnson's now 40+ years, he is just as famous, and his songs are just as lasting, as Brian's. I can't imagine the band without either one of them.

This was 1983, so the popularity of hair metal bands and music videos had exploded over the last couple of years. Since they weren't glammed up pretty boys AC/DC had not been getting much airplay in the US and the videos they made for the Flick of the Switch album was their way of flipping off MTV. They hired some local production company to film their rehearsals for the Flick tour and made videos from all that footage. In the decades since there have been bootlegs released of all of the rehearsal footage. AC/DC even released an alternate Guns for Hire video using a live take from the rehearsals. The band is on fire, but since it's only a rehearsal Brian isn't wasting the last bits of his voice in its prime - ua-cam.com/video/ynHHXLUXHAw/v-deo.html
Great song off their Flick of the Switch album, which some consider to be one of their more mediocre albums, but any other band would have loved to produce such an album, as it would have been exceptional for them. :)
You heard Bon Scott when you reacted to If You Want Blood You've Got It and Highway To He'll. You gotta see Bon Scott live thought dude. Let There Be Rock live at Apollo or Fling Thing/Rocker from the same concert. Awesome performances. Keep rocking bro!
If you read this Duane check out Guns for Hire. It's from the same album as this song you're reviewing now the Flick of the Switch album. Personally I think Guns for Hire is the best song off this album myself. They have a version just like this, recording the video during rehearsals & they have a live version from a concert in Detroit November 17th 1983 which I was at. I was 14 yrs old & drunker then a mother fucker. I was actually drunk 2 nights in a row bcuz they played Detroit the next night & I was there for that one to but they started the show with Guns for Hire & Angus just starts ripping the chords at the beginning standing on top of the amps & ends up jumping off onto the stage. Awesome fuckin concerts 👍👍
This is a much neglected song. Do yourself a favor and listen to their albums all the way through. Tons of great songs that never received airplay. As an aside , this was another song my wife used in her set when she was dancing!
best album ever.... 'cept fer maybe powerage, dirty deeds, high voltage, highway to hell, back in black, for those about to rock, and many others. hard for me to choose a "best". regardless, flick of the switch is epic. self produced, self written and self proving. this album was pure ac/dc.
Try there newest album yes I said new, in 2020 one person in the comments section on there hit single SHOT IN THE DARK👌SAID ....( ACDC TO THE RESCUE IN 2020) OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT TO A CERTAIN DEGREE WAS RIGHT ON POINT
Massively underrated album

Bon Scott was the first singer who died (from alcohol poisoning) at only 33 years old, and Brian Johnson is the guy here.
