tough absolutely but also has as much character which was illustrated when his wife became ill and he stood by her all the way.. i am a huge lions fan and i love this man!
It is a CRIME that Spielman isn't in the Hall of Fame and it has nothing to do with his play on the field. He's not there because unfortunately, he spent most of his career with arguably the worst franchise in North American professional sports: the Detroit Lions (I grew up in Michigan and got stuck with them). Had he played for an upper-echelon team from those days like Dallas, PIttsburgh, Denver, etc., he'd be in, no question about it.
This is awesome-thanks so much for posting. Spielman is my childhood hero. I was absolutely obcessed w/ wanting to be him in rocket football (wee-wee) in the 90s (and Travis Fryman in little league). Barry, Herman Moore, Calvin, and Spielman are my favorite players of all time. And some of my absolutely favorite people I look up to. And always will.
Spielman is tough, but he's smart too. That's why he hired Dan Campbell to be the lions coach. As the top executive for the Lions (other than owner Shiela Ford) he may get his Superbowl win this year.
Okay, first off, I get where this is coming from: the Lions finished the season strong last year and seem poised to break out this coming season...I get it. Buuuuuuut, at 44 years of age, I will also tell you that I've been to this movie a million times and it's never led to anything but "same ol' Lions," as they say. The hype just got old to me years ago and at this point, I need to SEE IT ON THE FIELD to believe it. But that's just my thought on the matter; take it for what it's worth.

He should be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
He deserved to be in Hall of Frame.

He will be after the lions win the Superbowl.

They failed to mention that Chris played an entire season in Detroit with a torn pectoral muscle. That IS tough!
Much like Stafford throwing the game winning touchdown with a separated shoulder.

Hey he still might have a chance to win one with the lions as management
He will get his superbowl in the front office in Detroit #Onepride
