I'm not worthy but Jesus certainly is. I have just asked Jesus to come back into my life as Lord and savior, tonight, as i had fallen away again. I'm struggling with doubts and unbelief, addictions, anger, pride, idolatry,,,,,,, God's grace is amazing. Pls pray for me to grow in faith and honour the Lord with my heart & not just my lips. I really need a personal relationship with Him. I need to know the voice and presence of the Holy Spirit. I need to know God as my Father. I don't want to be an hypocrite anymore. I need to be humble and obey , trust & believe in the Lord with all my heart, mind, soul and strength. Thank You Lord, for the patience You have had with me. Thank You for never leaving or forsaking me. Thank You for You love, grace and mercy. What a beautiful gift. Pls soften my heart of stone and replace it with a contrite pure heart, pleasing to You. Help me to love others, teach me Your ways. O Lord, i can do nothing without You and Your Holy Spirit. Help me to learn to pray in spirit and truth. Glory to You Father God, in Jesus's blessed name. Amen. Glory hallelujah ❤🙏

The Problem of Evil was never an obstacle to me. Quite the opposite, it drove me further into Christianity, as I saw the moral stability of my home, and the lack of moral stability outside the home, in youth groups, public schools, the homes of less fortunate families in our area, on police shows, and all over the news.
However, there is one aspect of the problem of evil I still have a hard time understanding: Why doesn't God allow people to die before they even have a chance to fall away from the Christian faith?
The only answer I've been able to come up with is the doctrine of grace and freewill, but that doesn't immediately solve my emotions and desires of the flesh.
My sister fell away from the faith shortly after our father died, and I am deeply troubled by all this.
Pray for my healing: I am full of so much anger and bitterness that I'm in major danger of going to Hell for this.

It's documented if you are still meant to be here, cancers literally fall off in front of people's faces. Dear brother in Christ, Never think sickness is a punishment, Paul had had thorn in the flesh, Timothy had stomach issues, Jesus died young. If long life and wealth is GOD's blessing, Jesus should have lived to 100 and should have been the richest person. God's has gret plans beyond our understanding. When Paul was jailed he didnot understand why God allowed him to be jailed. Thank God for that because of which we have new testament. If you sickness ends in God's glory , then it was allowed by God . God never causes sickness but allows it sometimes, if it can lead forour goodness. I would rather die at Gods time and go to heaven than live till 100 suffer everyday little by little, be a burden to everyone and then go to hell. Pray to God that his will be done. Whatever God will be for our good.

a very thought out piece of christian thinking...and very well put together.
It has taken me years to understand the meaning of the christian life, but there are times I've lost its grasp. I often find that when I loose its grasp, the experience of the sense of self just seems mechanical.
what appears to help me is that I relate better to Christianity through the secular approach much more than biblical texts and by Gods grace I somehow make it.
Just one thing that seemed to have not been mentioned in this topic was the act of complete surrender when experiencing all kinds of turmoil in life...I was hoping that some reference could have been made on that. My belief is that complete surrender is where faith begins...

Guys you need to watch the history of religion ( or research it) and you will see that all pagan religions came about due to rebellion against God and the plots of the Devil. How do I know that Jesus is the only way to Jehovah? Because he answers prayers, he responds, he listens, he delivers, he saves, he comforts and you receive power through the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
The Christian faith is not based on speculation, it is an intimate walk and relationship with God that brings encounters.

Beautiful message, and very important in these sad times, when children in school are taught all the basic skills of an atheist (even though religion is *not* supposed to be taught in school, including atheism, which is a religion according to the commonly accepted definition) and you're considered "uncool" simply because you've given yourself to Christ. Thank you SO much for sharing, and God bless you! =)

    • @ianyboo
      @ianyboo 7 років тому +2

If atheism is a religion then wouldn't that make not collecting stamps a hobby and not playing football a sport? Atheism is just a term to describe a person who is not convinced that any gods or goddesses exist. You are *also* an atheist with respect to all the gods and goddesses out there not including Yahweh the god of the Bible. Folks like me just add one more god to that long list of gods and goddesses.

    • @melaniexoxo

Atheism is not a religion in the same sense as Christianity its more a "pursuit or interest to which someone ascribes supreme importance" (I copied and pasted that from a dictionary online. I cite sources unlike Jacklyn Glenn the atheist ;)) , which falls under the definition of "religion". Furthermore, as a Christian and believer in the true and living God, that still makes me a theist. I'm guessing youre a new Athiest... I was saying the stuff you were back in 2010...I used to watch Non-Stamp Collector too, as well as read several of Dawkins books and have listened to some of his presentations. The atheist community on You Tube imploded years ago.

At 38:40 quote: "God may foreknow what people can do, but He can't determine what they are going to do" ?! - That is not what the Bible says.
_"For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate ... Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified."_ - Romans 8:29a - 30a
_"For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, _*_that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;_*_ -- It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger. As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated. _*_What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid._*_ For he saith to Moses, _*_I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion._*_ So then _*_it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy._*_ "_ - Romans 9:11-16
Also: _"Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will? Nay but, _*_O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?_*_ -- Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump _*_to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?_*_ "_ - Romans 9:19-21
So why is God "permitting" evil?
Here is why: _"What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and _*_to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath_*_ fitted to destruction: _*_And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy,_*_ which he had _*_afore prepared_*_ unto glory"_ - Romans 9:22-23
If that is not *God determining men's destiny,* I don't know what is...

    Jesus Was Born Incarnate
Jesus was born incarnate to a young Jewish virgin, lived a sin free life, was illegally persecuted and then crucified on a cross on Calvary. He arose three days later defeating death and ascended into Heaven where He sits at the right hand of God..
“Jesus knew He was entering the world to be the final and ultimate sacrifice for sin. His body had been divinely prepared by God specifically for that purpose. Jesus was going to die for the sins of the world, and He knew it. Moreover, He was doing it willingly and joyfully . That was the whole point of His incarnate birth.
Jesus came to earth, of course, to reveal God to mankind. He came to teach truth. He came to fulfill the Law. He came to offer His kingdom. He came to show us how to live. He came to reveal God’s love. He came to bring peace. He came to heal the sick. He came to minister to the needy.
He was raised in a family who didn't believe in His divinity. He had six half-brothers and two or three half-sisters who didn't believe in His divinity until after His resurrection.
What gets me is demons knew His divinity but men and women of His time didn't. Strange.
I presume Mary and Joseph knew His divinity. But in Luke 2:49-50 [NKJV] “He said to them, [His earthly parents] “Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?”
Did they not understand Jesus' divinity? This makes me wonder.
"But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." (Matthew 6:33 NKJV)
Luke 3:23 states that Jesus was "about 30 years of age" at the start of his ministry.
Jesus preformed 14-15 miracles (they were called signs) in the three years or so of His ministry on earth. Many miracles were preformed by Jesus Christ but not specifically identified and recorded in God's word.
Jesus' miracles were followed by Jesus forgiving the individuals of their sins and commanded they sin no more. Many of Jesus' miracles were not identified. No other religious leader forgave mankind of their sins.
Our sins separate us from God, and there’s nothing we can do to make things right. So, we need someone to save us from our sins and make us acceptable to God. That someone is Jesus Christ. 'Neither is there salvation in any other: for among men there is given no other Name under heaven, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12 GNV)
That’s why God sent Jesus to earth. Jesus’ death on the cross paid for every wrong we’ve ever committed or will do. Jesus made it possible for us to have a relationship with God the Father. I am a sinner from birth and need help, Jesus Christ is that help, my only hope.
Therefore by the deeds of the law (Ten Commandments) no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law our sins are recognized not saved.
I try to confess my sins and iniquities before Jesus Christ, at the foot of the cross daily.
Jesus said in Matthew 28:19, to His disciples that: “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.”
I will not have to stand before The Great White Throne of God, my sins have been cleansed by Jesus Christ's crucifixion on the cross. And I am clothed in the righteousness of Christ of all my sins and iniquities before-today, today and forever.
I Love Jesus Christ despite the fact that I'm human and I fail Him daily; I pick up my cross daily and follow Him. I believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that He was crucified on the cross where He died for my sins and inequities and that He rose again on the 3rd day to give me a way through salvation and sanctification. He loves me dearly and forgives my sins and inequities. His Word says that if I deny Him before men, He will deny me before His Father.
Following is one of the greatest verses in God's Word.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16 NKJV)
I am a Christ-follower and live in the Kingdom of God on earth in Jesus Christ, my Lord, Savior and Leader. I have faith and trust in the grace and mercy of God for eternal life for my soul in Heaven when I pass from this life into paradise.
I proclaim this openly to the world, that I am sinner, that I am sorry for my sins and iniquities and repent of my sins and iniquities and receive Jesus Christ by faith into my heart, mind and soul as my Lord, Savior nd Leader. I openly confess Him as Lord from this moment on, I want to follow Him, I pledge to obey Him daily, and read His word. I will include those in my prayers who are lost and have chosen to deny God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ declared: “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6 NKJV)
I am in the “Lamb's Book of Life” and will not face “The Great White Throne of God” which leads to Hell.
    God bless

I honestly can't believe that traditional Christianity is obsessed with sin, and makes God a sadist. I'm a progressive Christian pluralist because I can't stand that. And I'm also convinced that doctrine is a human attempt to explain a divine experience, and the mistake these guys make is to think the divine claims are literal and history. That's like basing English (I'm British) on the historicity of the King Arthur Legend.

    • @laitek7218

+Timothy Myton God is not obsessed with sin. God is Holy, but He loves us, habitual sinners! He has gone to a lot of trouble to make a way for us to relate with Him, but sadly many turn away from His love and make up their own 'Gods' to suit their preferences (religion/idolatry) which has nothing to do with actual truth. That is what He will judge; the rejection.

So as I understand the Christian story: God created human's in a broken state. Realizing this problem he decides that coming to Earth as a human, to be tortured and killed, which server as a sacrifice to himself, is somehow the best answer. God commands that anyone who wants to go to heaven must accept his sacrifice to himself, otherwise eternal torture awaits.
God was never capable of just accepting that humans are broken, and just forgiving them. God demands that they show incredible credulity towards an otherwise unbelievable story, so that they may be deemed worthy of heaven. I'm sorry, but Christian theology is just too fucked up to be credible.

+Atheist Lehman God created man perfect, but man became spiritually dead and separated from God when Adam & Eve sinned. All their offspring were thereafter born in this state. To die in this state, is eternal death and destination: Hell! This is because we are all sinners, and the wages of sin is death. But because God is rich in mercy and love for us, He came into the world in the form of flesh, JESUS, and died in our place. It is like being guilty in a court with no hope of posting bail, and a stranger comes along and pays it ALL, leaving you without charge; free to go! That is what Jesus did. He died for your sins. He has died for everyone, so it is available to all, but we must REPENT, TURN FROM SIN AND PUT OUR TRUST ALONE IN THE PAYMENT JESUS MADE when he died on the cross. If we don't trust in Jesus, our sins remain on us and we go to hell when our flesh dies. The main thing that blocks people from this wonderful blessing is PRIDE. God resists the proud but gives Grace to the humble. He chooses the foolish things to confound the 'wise'. He has done all this to make it difficult for any heart that is lifted up, anyone that feels too 'wise', proud, arrogant, to even see or understand all this.

*"God created man perfect, but man became spiritually dead and separated from God when Adam & Eve sinned."*
Yes, every human gets punished because some tart, who never existed, ate a piece of fruit...
*"But because God is rich in mercy and love for us, He came into the world in the form of flesh, JESUS, and died in our place."*
Yes, your all powerful God couldn't change the rules, that he created, knowing full well that humans would come along, so he had to send him self to die for a few days... Not a convincing story.
*"It is like being guilty in a court with no hope of posting bail, and a stranger comes along and pays it ALL, leaving you without charge; free to go! "*
No, it's more like the judge pronounces you guilty of some crime you've never heard of, and then proceeds to tell you that because you have "faith" in him (whatever the hell that is), he's going to take whatever punishment you were supposed to receive, because, you know, his hands are completely tied to the law. Even this analogy breaks down. Your all loving God will forgive your errors only if you have faith, and it's almost comically insane!
I never wanted Jesus to died for me. I had no say in what Adam and Eve did. God offers me a "free gift" with the price of giving myself over to him, when God knew all of this would happen, and I'm supposed to be grateful? Please spare me your comedy.
*"That is what Jesus did. He died for your sins. He has died for everyone, so it is available to all, but we must REPENT, TURN FROM SIN AND PUT OUR TRUST ALONE IN THE PAYMENT JESUS MADE when he died on the cross. "*
That's right. REPENT! Feel bad for your human nature. Don't try to rectify the harm you've caused, just remember that Jesus paid for all your sins, just as long as you repent! What utter bullshit!
*"If we don't trust in Jesus, our sins remain on us and we go to hell when our flesh dies."*
"Love me, or I'll burn you forever, you lowly maggot! Oh, you do love me, well then welcome to paradise" - What I imagine Jesus' saying.
*"The main thing that blocks people from this wonderful blessing is PRIDE."*
No, what actually blocks us from this "blessing" is the fact that it's imaginary!
*"God resists the proud but gives Grace to the humble."*
All other sins are forgivable, but not disbelief. For that, you get to burn... Humbled believers get paradise... Cool story bro.
*"He has done all this to make it difficult for any heart that is lifted up, anyone that feels too 'wise', proud, arrogant, to even see or understand all this."*
Uh huh.. Sounds like a nice excuse. If you don't believe it, it's because you're too full of pride, and God will burn you forever! Whatever...

Interesting video, I find it a bit galling that Strobel didn't include men and women of color, whom have, under the yoke of their white oppressors, suffered cruelty and pain that I (we) have never experienced. At least Templeton had the courage to challenge this white washing of history and wonder where is God in all of this. His comments in the end, made me realize he understood Jesus, its the world and the better yet the Church he challenged. Good for him. My guess when he died he met Jesus and now spends eternal glory with him.

Your speaking of politics. Every race on earth at some point have been oppressed and slaves. These are the ministers that were found for this documentary. The lady that initially introduced Lee's wife to Jesus was black but race doesn't matter. God doesn't care about that. If we are not a jew we are a gentile. The hate spread by the ideology you expouse are based on hate resentments and unforgiveness. God says to love all people because all are created in his image. He also tells us if we do not forgive those who have sinned against us he will not forgive us. It's also sad there are an estimated 40 million in slavery world wide with 9.2 million in Africa. Hatefulness is what the evil one spreads. God says you cannot fight evil with evil but evil with good. Woke ideology is based on marxist theory that allows no belief in God except for the state. All are slaves to government. I'm a recovering alcoholic and I learned that resentments were an evil thing that perpetuates addiction and spiritual disease. God tells us to pray for those that spiteful use us and do good for them. He says it will be like heaping hot coals on their head. You are thinking exactly what the white oppressors want you to believe because it's a means to an end. God gave us all free will and each individual I responsible for their own actions. Everyone will face judgement. God also says ALL have sinned and ALL fall short of the glory of God. That's you and me and anything else. Arbitrary rules that say you must have x number of this race or that race have zero to do with God. He lives you. I live you because you were created in the image of God and because it's the heart of God for me to do so. Hate and resentments are themselves evil. I will pray for you that you find peace. Dr Tony Evans is a pastor that taught me so much of this. He also happens to be black. Years ago he preached to not think anyone is your brother or sister because of race. Christians are all brothers and sister. We as gentiles were grafted into the tree of the Jewish people by his selfless act of the cross. Do you not see. Christ was persecuted and suffered terribly as have Christians throughout time. He understands. He brought so many to undemanding what black people suffered in the past. Their experience is not unique in history overall. Open your heart to him and you will find peace. God doesn't say I have to like everyone but I do have to live them and am compelled to do so as God loved me when I was an addict even if nobody else did. My addiction was my fault and nobody else's. Had I followed him that never would have happened but my experience and my suffering can help others. I do not blame black people because I bought evil things from black people that would be ridiculous. Not all black people think or believe the same way the same for white people. Life isn't about race its about a God who also suffered and loves us all. If God can forgive all people for any past behavior so must I. Your post makes me so. So many are slaves to politics or political parties or godless ideology. Chose not to be onr.

Yeah, it certainly is the worlds 'sweetest' religion, you know:
love, kindness, compassion, warmth & forgiveness...
    - but it's just not a logical thinking man's religion, now is it -
That ANYTHING emanating from the mind, imagination, power & full-foreknowledge of a perfect, loving, timeless & evil-free Creator would - or even could - turn to sh!t, ie:
evil, lust, greed, torture, rape, murder, death, - Strains the credibility of logic & reason.
The Adam/Eve concept claiming those fore-known sinless Images & likenesses of God himself, when given choice, would ever be motivated to choose the ANTITHESIS of their own sinless nature, their very Gold-like essence, demands one believe in mindless insanity.
Sorry, but don't you feel a truly "thinking man" would be, at best, obsequious and insincere if claiming to believe in something so contradictory on such an elementary level?

It's plenty absurd to believe that God created humans in a broken state, and then needed to come to Earth, as a human, to be tortured (and die) so that we could be forgiven for being broken in the first place. The idea of a God who can only forgive by accepting his own sacrifice to himself convinces me that Christianity is probably false.
To call Strobel credulous doesn't really do it justice. If he was ever a skeptic about Christianity, he was a really bad skeptic. Jesus birth fulfilled prophecies!? You do understand Mr Strobel that Jesus' birth story was almost certainly a concoction of whoever wrote Matthew, attempting to make it look like he fulfilled prophecy.
Anyone who accepts the reliability of the gospel stories, doesn't really understand the history of the gospels.

    • @rockyseverino9230
      @rockyseverino9230 7 років тому

Atheist Lehman it doesn't seem to me any benefit to Satan to have the certainty of God's existence you think God should give you.
For instance, it doesn't seem there's any evidence that a fallen angel can repent and restore their broken relationship with God.
According to the Christian world view you and I and all human beings can do this
Therefore ours is the greater position.
Also, still keeping the Christian world view, for it is the only lens through which Christianity can be discussed in terms of what problems it claims to address, the Bible is crystal clear that anyone can know with absolute certainty that God exists, in fact the Bible seems to indicate that God doesn't believe in Atheism, therefore it doesn't exist, everyone underneath their thoughts knows God exists, and anyone who throws themselves at that truth will discover Him.
I.e. if you seek me you will find me when you seek me with all your heart.
which appears to be a formula.
So in the context of the Christian world view, this is a testable claim.
So it seems to me that Christianity is falsifiable, if you seek him with all your heart and do not find him one of two things must follow.
That statement is false, or God lied.
If the statement is false you can disregard everything else in the Bible as being untrue or God did say that but lied and is therefore imperfect and unworthy of worship and adoration, plus, who knows what else he lied about etc.
So, there you go, just a few ways to look at the distinction between your and Satan's inherent knowledge of the details of what is true about the universe and what the implications of those differences might be.

*For instance, it doesn't seem there's any evidence that a fallen angel can repent and restore their broken relationship with God.*
So? There's also no evidence that they can't.
*the Bible is crystal clear that anyone can know with absolute certainty that God exists*
Then as far as I can tell, the bible is just wrong!
*in fact the Bible seems to indicate that God doesn't believe in Atheism*
Why should I care what your holy book writers thinks God thinks? Demonstrate that there is a God, and that he had something to do with the bible, and we can start to talk about this, otherwise we're arguing over Harry Potter.
*and anyone who throws themselves at that truth will discover Him.*
Except for the people that do and fail....
*So in the context of the Christian world view, this is a testable claim.*
Yes, and it's demonstrably false! There are millions of former, absolutely ardent, believers. Why did they stop believing when they were completely convinced before? If what you claim is true, nobody should ever have doubt after coming to Jesus!

    • @rockyseverino9230
      @rockyseverino9230 7 років тому

Atheist Lehman oh good, you replied, I thought you might lol.
So I'm not gonna quote you but I'll simply reply point by point, I'm sure that'll be sufficient.
There is evidence they can't. Hell was prepared for Satan and his Angels. So the only evidence I have is their damnation. If they can repent that's fine by me, but like in court trials, you can consider reasonable, I.e. inferences from evidence, not speculation, which is inference based on nothing, so I typically ignore "what ifs"
Anything is possible, not everything is reasonable etc.
If you think the Bible is wrong I'll simply say as far as I can tell it isn't. So claim counter claim doesn't move the ball forward.
I certainly agree that without God we're arguing Harry Potter which would be nonsense. I imagine you're educated enough to be familiar with arguments from design, cosmology, morality etc that gets us to God, and the arguments for the reliability of the New Testament that get us to Jesus and hence if you find those arguments convincing you then care what the writers of my holy book have to say and that God is involved with that book specifically.
Do they fail? How would you or I know? How would we know they fulfilled the requirements of the promise? Did they really seek God with all their hearts? No one but God knows that, should He exist, so there's nothing I can add to that seeing as it's impossible for me to know the inner thought life of anyone but myself.
Now the traditional response to your final comment is that those people never believed in Jesus to begin with.
Is that reasonable? Could be. It's an unkind thing to say, I prefer to take people at their words, but some people do lie, even to themselves, so it's one answer.
I'd certainly never tell someone they should be a Christian if they don't believe it's historical. Christianity doesn't work unless it's historical.
I imagine we'd both agree with that.
