kinda surprised and glad to hear Ashirra at the 2nd rank in this vid lol. really do wish to see more lore about them one day. they seem to be closer to "good guys sect"-ish than the camarilla😂🙂which i can't help but to take liking to
As somebody who usually plays anarch...I can't disagree with you. The way I always interpreted them (and play them) is that they're an extremely diverse group of clashing ideologies united only by by their hatred of the Camarilla and other sects. The cynical part comes in when you realise that either they descend into infighting and collapse, or they remain stable by just becoming a new status quo that's basically "Camarilla but with a few less rules now". But the lore generally portrays it as a bunch of punks on morotcycles going "FUCK YOU DAD YOU CAN'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO!!"
In my experience, the viability of the Anarchs depends conversely on how the Camarilla is currently. The more structured or powerful a city, the more tactful they have to be, and supress that Angry Chimp Energy. Ironically, I feel the boosting of the Anarchs to on par with other sects stole them of the flavor that drew people: the fight, the opposing of something monolithic, that underdog theme of the 90s. In a meta sense, I feel Anarchs Could be used in an interesting way, like a Mob meets GoT fustercluck of chaifing groups. There will always be something wanted that another will oppose, only problem is you'd either have to hand wave the outsiders, or Mos stories will end with the same "And they united to fight Opression Camarilla" then exploding after.
My idea for the anarchs was to give some tent pole ideas moving forward to help define them and provide a source of conflict. Say for example make them culturally pagan and advocating direct democracy. That way you've got something for them and the other two to fight about
Yeah thats the big issue with the anarchs, theyre so poorly defined and dull its hard to become invested in them. The sabbat and carmarilla just have much more going on and it says a lot that v5 didnt much sell the anarch as throw dirt on the actual sects. Also the carmarilla is objectively the least awful sect to be a member off and in general pre v5-fight me
Independent alliance: They actually came up with this? cool, never heard of it before. shame really. Anarchs: The faction trying so hard to be badass and yet is filled with limp-dick and jaded figureheads that don't have the fire or spirit the faction is presented to possess. (though points for trying when Brujah did make their move with shotgunning the Ventrue and seeing the Gangrel fucked off to the woods,) Tal'mae'Ra: Could be cool if more interconnected to fit with events that take place in Mage, Changeling and others, less illuminati confirmed and more Hail Hydra. Inconnu: VTM for Old-hands that could actually explore a new setting onto its own, your old as dirt, the world has moved on from you and your trying to play intercontinental chess with the other sleeping old farts in the care-home. question is can they even remember why they're here and are the rabble in the know you're playing them like pawns onto the board? are you sure you're in control? Sabbat: Best Sect (Fight me.) to play because they're everything the Anarchs wish they were... and would actually make for quite a reversal in terms of the plot and protagonism coming from the monsters who want to be free to be utter revolting monsters while being hunted by panicked-out-of-their-skulls Kine who are becoming what they fear and hate... and the ever Oppressive status-quo-Omerta of The Cam, while the Oldest predators in the Shark tank are starting to taste the spilled blood in the water.... _But nooooo evil bad!_ Hecata: I mean, another Sect would be cool and all if not for some of these outright hating each other for interferences (Harbingers of Skulls vs Giovanni.) and the Giovanni being practically their own faction all on their own for the longest time... also poor Nagaraja just being stuffed into the faction like a last ingredient in a very underwhelming tasting stew. with all these Death centered Necromantic Clans they're almost begging for a setting and plot of their own with it's own stakes, like Wraith. (I'm not as familiar with these so if im missing nuances or details feel free to correct me here it just seems like a hodgepodge.) Ashirra: uncontroversial hot-take and idea, let Muslim people write the conditions, motivations and plot for these Muslim creatures of the night within this _fictional_ Muslim faction/factions. you'll probably get more genuine differences in perspectives, story and audience that way instead of tip-toeing on and around things you don't understand, I admit this freely. The Cam: presented as the protagonists because of the core-themes of the setting being survival through omerta and many more means, yet the cause of every problem, perfect faction for the world of Darkness and can agree with what you said on them here, it's just that I'm tired of the attempts to turn them into moustache twirling saturday-morning cartoon villains and not more respect given due to how much they represent the necessary, in necessary evil. Just my two cents.
The Anarchs are and always were to me extremely boring. They never had anything going for them except pretentiousness in my eyes. "Freedom"? In what way? Everyone has their own definition of it. For some, breaking the masquerade is freedom. For some the Amaranth is freedom, yet both are not exactly allowed now are they? (The latter is allowed on enemies, granted, but every sect tends to look the other way in this specific matter.) They always seemed to be a bunch of teenagers that were embraced from a counter-culture scene to me and had more of an interest to rebel than actually build something "better". (again, everyone has their own opinion about what is better.) Tldr= angry for angry's sake.
If you get the choice, probably the best sect to choose would be the Inconnu. Most don't get that choice when they are embraced, as far as I understand.
I suppose they could make one exception or two from time to time,@@Noxims47314. Assuming the candidate has a really, really, good letter of recommendation. Vampires are many things, but immune to corruption is not one of them.
First of all, big fan of the channel. Second, I need to correct something about the Islamic faith. Allah is the Arabic word for God or better yet “the God” -> Al Lah. It’s used by all monotheistic faiths in the Middle East and North Africa to say God. Just like one says in French Dieu or in Spanish Dios. It’s not the literal name of God in the Islamic faith. If you would read a Arabic bible, you would read Allah in it.
Well, I must say that among all such ratings, this one was perhaps the toughest and it will be quite difficult to give definite answers. However, if you highlight the sects about which I have quite a clear opinion... I really love Hecata. I have enjoyed each of the Clans of Death individually in past editions. At first, I was relatively skeptical about their union in V5, but over time I discovered a certain love for this sect. I like the Anarchs in that they're pretty much a blank canvas, both for the player to create an interesting character and for the storyteller to shape the organization in their own unique way, given its lack of rigid laws and therefore its flexibility. Plus, now they've got the Tzimisce who have always been one of my favorite clans, so... As for the Sabbat and the Camarilla... I have a love-hate relationship for both. More love than hate for the Sabbat and more hate than love for the Camarilla. Something like this... In conclusion, I will say that I damn liked this episode. It was great to get your opinion and as always I absolutely enjoyed the ratings for each of the sects 👍
With all due respect, why did you left out the Laibon Legacies of the Ebony Kingdom, the Einherjar of Skandinavia and the Raktasadhu of India? You don't consider them a sect? (Well the Einherjar are basically nonexistant in the modern days, thats true... but the Laibon are alive and kicking and have a firm hold on Africa, while the Raktasadhu of India , the mutual alliance of the the Daitya, Danava, Nagaraja, Eastern Ravnos, and Wu Zao against the ever-posing threat of the Kuei-jin (mostly the Infinite Thunders Court of southern India and the Golden Court of eastern India.), the Camarilla, the Ashirra, the local Sabbat and the Tzimisce Methuselah Kartarirya and the indian Tzimsice is a force to be reconed with in my humble opinion)

I hear you, and I raise you that they are also the least-awful to be a member of post-v5 as well.
@@DefaultSeaTurtle yeah but that really does damn them with faint praise consider how mind numbingly shit all 3 sects are in v5.

Yeah big problem with the anarchs is they don't actually have any ideas going forward and less personality outside of iconic rebel chiqe
sabbat and anarchs are overrated. Cam will always be the best
100% agreed! Nice one, as always🦇
Clan salubri:Ahem. Can i just mention that the ashira actually listened to us?

Uncensored sects? On youtube? You do know how to spice things up.

I wouldn't consider the Legacies a Sect really. I did mention the Independent Clans weren't going to be included as well.
bc anarchs and sabbat r unsophistic8ed in comparison
