Lots of Inverter Generators have a floating neutral....I did this exact same thing to get a bonded ground-neutral. The inverter generator would run the skillsaw, and every other electrical tool, but a code was coming up on our High Efficient Furnace, and would not cut in. Showed improper current to the furnace. So I made this plug set up, and now the furnace shows no improper current code, and the receptacle tester showed correct, so all is ok, to run the furnace. Gave it a try and all was fine. It is good you put this video on, because some people would be calling an electrician, and then there could be an expensive venture, if the electrician was not be honest with the customer.
In order to not waste outlets it seems you could make a super short extension cord but wired so that the neutral and grounds were connected by an extra piece of wire. youd end up with a 1 foot pigtail rather than using a triple tap that blocked the other two outlets. you could build three bonding pigtails, one for each plug
