I was late and watched the first one like a month before Way Of Water. I watched it, loved it and by some internet magic I instantly on UA-cam got recommended the trailer for 2 and literally went "Wait there's another one?!" Watched it and the rest is history

@@ethanholgate2512 If any of the rumors are true about a 9 hour cut of A3, I wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up splitting it into 2 movies in the end. Disney has just bumped the release dates of a bunch of other movies too, so I wonder what’s going on.
@Songstriker fair to assume that I don't believe that for a second as the effects are already so expensive to do Avatar 2 cost over 400 million and that was a 3 hour movie so I reckon someone made that up somewhere and some people ran with it thinking it's true

I know it's a pain that we'll have to wait longer but it will be worth it if this means the movies turn out as perfect as they can be and not rushed. James Cameron is aware movies take time!
The problem is as AI become more and more advanced making films will be much easier in the future, imagine if 5 years from now there's AI that can allow audience to make their own movie as good as Hollywood production, would avatar 4 and 5 be still special? Even if it's still has better quality than average movies at that time, due to rapid development of AI will allow other movies just as good, which will make avatar just a generic movie, that's not good for the fans

This might actually be a good thing, since Sonic 3 was scheduled to release on the exact same date in December 2024, and I was worried that it would dent Avatar 3's American box office opening weekend sales.

Come on already, you don't need 22 years to wrap this shit up and I doubt the story is worth such a long wait in between when we got 11 Potter movies every year for a decade.
@@deadstar44 I understand the technology involved in the Avatar franchise is way beyond the common CGI used in HP or Marvel, but 22 years to complete this venture is simply idiotic, especially when the AI and the Virtual Reality tech could change how we watch entertainment before then... Besides, Cameron shot most of the scenes for 3 and 4 already, and he has the money available. And a million things could happen before 2031! Why all this procrastination, I really don't get it!?
Exactly, it makes no freaking sense. The long R&D is done, the cutting edge water CGI is there, the AI machine learning tools are there to fast-track post-production, the pipeline has been set to deliver shots without waiting another decade. It's purely on Disney because I can't believe Cameron miscalculated Avatar schedule that much. 2031 is a joke when the plan was to shoot back to back so Cameron wouldn't be pushing 80 directing Avatar movies.

Being a fan of both Avatar and Tottenham Hotspur really does give its fair share of disappointment 🙄
I hate Disney so much right now. So first, the release dates had to be set to manage Star Wars but since Lucasfilms can't get its shit together now Disney shove those SW crap in between A2 and A3. To top this, the writers strike put the whole saga on the backburner until 2031 as an unfortunate result of rescheduling that other shitshow MCU.
Sorry to say this but this might be the last straw I'd take from Disney. I might grow weary and out of interest for Avatar movies if it comes to pull this last minute bullshit on us fans.
For all of those that say it's fine to wait or those movies take a long time to make. I just can't...SHOOTING SEQUELS BACK TO BACK WAS CHOSEN SPECIFICALLY TO AVOID THAT SITUATION OF HAVING PRODUCTION DELAYS!
Pushing back sequels render the whole endeavour almost superfluous (save for shooting kids while they're still young) since it will take as much time between sequels that it would have been if they didn''t shoot back to back.
What will even happen if Cameron dies midway without completing A3 because of this delaying BS?! Like 2031 to watch the ending, are you kidding me? Why does Avatar have to become some long-winded Marvel TV show?

Avatar 3 in 2025 was rather obvious. Too much work to do great CGI just in two years.
They didn't start to work on those CGI yesterday...That time was accounted for when they set the December 2024 release date four years ago after the Covid pushed back the release dates. Remember they shot A2 & A3 simultaneously so WETA could start working on CGI earlier on A3. So that means, Cameron and co still set December 2024 knowing that they wouldn't make the date while lying to medias all the way up until recently that they were set to meet the deadline next year?
Come on. I don't buy it one second that this is because they're way behind schedule. They plan the back to back sequels for years to meet the deadlines and avoid long gaps between sequels. CGI post-production time is supposed to be accounted for.
I think it's Disney's meddling the Avatar schedule to shoehorn shitty SW sequels in between in December because Kathleen Kennedy is an incompetent hack that can't meet a deadline anymore without firing minions.

@@sebastian11346 no it's not. It's Disney trying to shoehorn delayed MCU flicks like Thunderbolts in there. "Work on CGI" is a producer's bullshit excuse. They would have known before A2 release that they wouldn't make A3's deadline because of the CGI since they shot them simultaneously for a back to back release but they still hyped A3 up like they had planned to make the December 2023 deadline. It's A5 and A5 that weren't set in stone. That CGI excuse makes no sense so late if you believed Cameron in interviews.

Technically, world in 2020 was not in a good shape with the whole Covid 19 pandemic. So from that point of view Cameron was right, not about climate but in world in general. 😂
