I'm going on Ventura to the Canary Islands November 2024 and it's my first solo cruise. Thank you for such an informative video of the ship. I'm looking forward to the cruise and hope to meet some lovely people 😃
Great video, Jamie! I found Ventura to be in really good condition when cruising on her back at Easter. I'll be on Azura next weekend - keen to see how she differs!
I have cruised on Ventura five times since 2011, love that ship. did the fjords on Britannia, but my favourite was Oceana. i was on the last Oceana cruise before she was sold to a Greek cruise line. she was the fastest ship in the P&O fleet when i sailed on her, and had a special ambience about her, being a smaller ship at around 85.000 tonnes.
@@TravelBlogJamie Probably the same cruise as me then. when i said last cruise, i meant last full cruise as the last one had to turn back due to the covid outbreak. we went down to the Canaries and Madeira and Soutern Spain.
Thanks for a great tour of Ventura, haven't sailed on her for a good few years, back onboard in October, had heard some horror stories about the state of things onboard but she is looking good.
Thanks for the tour, quite handy... we're on Ventura in November doing the short Amsterdam & Bruges cruise, I'll have a bit of a clue where I'm going on the ship now lol. I don't suppose you'd happen to know where the smoking areas currently are would you? I did Google but seems to be a few different answers. Wife is a smoker so it'd be handy to know for her sanity and my continued survival 😂
Thank you for a great review Jamie - it brought back lovely memories. We’d forgotten what a beautiful ship Ventura is. Pity about the Glass House - one of our favourite P and O venues. We are booked on Arvia next year - hope they can find enough crew for another giant ship!!! Keep up the good work. xx
Cruised on ventura and azura good few years ago now. We liked the overall layout of them both. Couple of weeks time we'll be aboard the Iona so can't wait for that .
@Travel Blog Jamie We really enjoyed our 7 days on iona, only downer we both had colds (feed a cold which we did). Layout of iona interior and exterior is well thought out plenty of seating and bars, didn't feel crowded to us. Food is good apart from my pig had no blanket lol was resolved so all good on Thursday Christmas dinner. Olive Grove and sindhu especially nice and majority of staff were great. Don't think the virtual queue does p&o any favours as most venues had tables available or some occasions nearly empty. Entertainment wasn't up to say princess standard but that's just our opinion. Embarkation and disembarkation was very smooth just some patience from passengers would be appreciated chilax people.
Hi Jamie, just watching this as we are on her for 14 nights😊 end October. We are not late nighters so what is the tv like, can you order movies? Is there good Chanel choices.
I would love to travel on P&O but when trying to establish several reservations in late 2023/2024, blocks of cabins were 'blocked off and the agent stated I would have to let them assign me a room. In addition, she said there is no need to pay gratuities? 🤨🤨 This is much different than the experience I have had with Princess Cruises. Should I give up and consider MSC?
sailes on this ship before im 16 lol got lost on the stairases to different decks and rooms. saw these boys in the evening in the outdoor hot tub then turning up the next evening thinking i could go in overninght like them until i realised they got out when staff arrived. lmao. its so cool to look outside onto ur balcony in the morning and creepy at night. but the paloma faith act was good. however i have deleted footage of it so sad. would definitly do this cruise again.
Hmmm... Done Aura, Arcadia and Iona so far and got Arvia and Britannia booked. Considering a cruise on Ventura next year. She looks lovely but very strangely laid out. It looks like her decor is very Italian inspired and her layout is inspired by a Greek Minotaur's labyrinth 😂
Thanks for another cracking ship tour Jamie 😍 We have so much love for Ventura, and it's great to see her in all her glory! And yes, this is a jealous Joe typing while Marina is onboard on a sea day 😁😭 We've said it before, but you really do brilliant ship tours - everything us viewers need covered, great information and entertainment, and the perfect pace 😊 The only problem is that "Ventura was launched in 2007" makes me feel very very old 🤣😬
@@TravelBlogJamie you was waiting to be picked up in the dock next to us and I thought I recognised you and then when I got home I realised where from 😂
Come walk with me, let’s walk let’s walk awaaaaaay…! A walking tour of P&O Ventura!

Ahh, it's nice to reminice on a cold and wet November day of warmer days at sea back in July. Thanks Jamie 😊
But don’t worry because those days will be back ❤️❤️😂
I am sailing on her in April 2023 and this is very useful.
No problem 😌

I sailed on Oceana multiple times under P&O - I was on the penultimate cruise as it happens!

Sorry Andy, no idea - I’m a non smoker so it’s not something I tend to keep abreast of I’m afraid
No worries, we'll likely go a'hunting on the first day lol.

I’d recommend watching my 1 week on Ventura vlog - I gave looooooads of tips on that one. Have fun!
We are onboard Ventura in Feb 24 for a 5 week USA and Caribbean cruise
Hope you enjoy! I heard Key West was removed from the itinerary?
Us too
Unfortunately yes it has, an extra day in Port Everglades would have been nice, allowing people to get a full day in Disney
Great video! I love the kids club reference, urrghhhh! 🤣 My thoughts exactly 👍
Oh I’ve got in trouble for that with people who don’t know me 😂 I am actually a teacher of 23 years so not the child-hater they think I am 😂

Book direct, not with a TA. You can choose you cabin on any P&O cruise. Gratuities are included in the cruise fare.
