Sin reminds us of our fleshly fallin nature and it also points us to our dependence on Jesus and trusting him to help us overcome it. But when God the father sees us he sees Christ and his holyness because of the blood....Praise God 🙏🏾
Jesus wants us to be a slave to the Spirit not the flesh for many good reasons. Praise God He forgives repentant hearts, it keeps us humble, grateful and grows our love for such a gracious and loving God.
The goal of the Christian life could not be not sinning, since nobody can stop sinning, and furthermore Christ has atoned for our sin and completely satisfied for all sin. This logic is by no means an excuse for sinning, but a statement of fact.

And I need a physician more so now after being saved than before I was saved, because before I was saved I had no idea I needed a physician.

This was therapeutic. When I was in my 40's and married and had a son, it was just great for earth life. You both have changed from your 30's to your 40's. I'm in my 70's and wow will you ever see life different then. Also, when your wives leave you, you will be totally stunned as Adam was. You will wonder how a good Christian woman who has all her needs met could ever take her bible and just leave you. A guy said to me a while back, If having a wife was so good, why didn't Jesus have one? To imitate Him and Paul is to not even touch a woman. Well why, when you know YOUR wife is different? Jesus and Paul knew for sure what I didn't know. When a woman hears a gospel from Satan, even if there is no sin around at all, she loves it. Why? I don't have a clue.
Put God first...everything else will come to you. He'll use you as a vessel of good for His good will and purpose. Read His Word and discern between men's doctrine's and His. We are responsible for what we believe. When we love God, we are compelled to do His will. Don't you do the same for your loved ones? Only God is above our loved one's....He get's precedence.

According to the apostle Paul, our goal is to be with Jesus. We are to be looking for His appearing, keeping our eyes on Him. When Paul talked about running the race he was talking about his ministry. An athlete runs because he is an athlete. An athlete doesn't run to BECOME an athlete. Paul was actually talking about freedom in Christ when he was talking about running the race. An athlete has the freedom to train however he sees fit and with whatever intensity he desires. Paul was made an apostle so he trains for that position. Even though his training may not be the same as another athlete, all the athletes must follow the rules during the race. There were rules he had to follow that pertained to his work as an apostle. He could be disqualified to be an apostle but not because of the free choices he made for his training. He said he could have married, but he chose not to. Even if he chose to marry, he would not be less of an apostle, but he chose not to marry because he wanted his ministry to be top priority. If he married, his wife would have to be a higher priority, so he chose not to marry. It was his freedom of choice. God would have been pleased if he did marry and his ministry was second priority. Running the race has nothing to do with salvation. It is about being free to make choices in our lives and still pleasing God. Marriage is a pleasing choice to God. Not getting married is a choice that pleases God. The point is that Paul made the choice to make his ministry of an apostle top priority so he "ran" as an apostle. If he chose to marry, his marriage would be his top priority, and he would "run" as a husband. Context matters.
I find it sad that some people don't find God worthy to love. He said if we love Him we would follow His commandments (John 14:15). 1 Peter 1 ....we are kept by God through 'faith'... If we have faith, love for God, we will follow His commandments. Does a good disciple reflect His master or not? His grace is not a license to sin...read Romans 8. John 6:28-29. John 6:40. Not knowing that both the Works of God and the Will of God is to believe in Jesus Christ. Most read the Bible without knowing the will of God. Let alone the works God they think are the Ten Commandments. Or witnessing or praying the rosary etc.. people die from a lack of knowledge of the Bible.
Focusing on our sin puts the focus on our flesh. Focusing on the Spirit puts the focus on Jesus. (The Holy Spirit ALWAYS testifies of Jesus! Not of Himself. Not of YOU!) If you focus on the Spirit, you will be focused on Christ. If you are focused on the Spirit, you will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh. To be focused on our sin is to not be focused on the Spirit, and it causes us to fall into sin. This is the same reason we don't focus on our works. Works of iniquity are works that focus on self instead of the works of the Spirit. When we focus on self, whether our sin or our good works, it is fleshly. When we focus on the Spirit, we are focused on HIS works, not our own. People who compare themselves to themselves or to others are not focused on the works of the Spirit. They are focused on the flesh. I'm not saying it is easy, but it is the truth. Paul even tells us that focusing on the law entices us to sin! Those who focus on their works or their sin cannot please God because it is not of faith. Faith in Christ totally trusts Christ to do the work through the Holy Spirit within us. We actually take the Holy Spirit's job away from Him when we are not focused on Him, and we make it our job, and that is not of faith, but of self righteousness and fleshly works. Scripture testifies of Jesus. NOT you! Look to Him!
I enjoy your podcast and agree with much of what you say but obviously not everything. I must say though I'm not quite sure where the idea of so called "free grace antinomianism" means we hate the law. We don't. In fact we love the law just as much as you guys do because perfection to it reflects Christ and His perfect righteousness granted to us as a free gift. We just acknowledge and affirm as Paul did that we are not bound by the law as a means to eternal salvation since that salvation is in Christ and Him alone or even proof of our salvation. Just sayin. You guys make it sound as though we're haters of the law. That couldn't be further from the truth.
The Bible says that we must die to the law in order to live unto Christ. It says the law leads us to Christ and then we are no longer under the law. You can't live under both. The Bible compares this to adultery. You can't be married to both.
Impeccability and inerrancy of the saints only comes at Glorification. Glorification only comes at the 2nd Advent; not before. "This will of man is made perfectly and immutably free to good alone in the state of glory only." [1689 Baptist Confession of Faith; Ch. 9, "Of Free Will," para. 5]. This is one of the reasons why the synergistic and philosophically speculative definition of "human free will" as 'the power of contrary choice' is utterly fallacious. Biblical definition of "human libertarian free will": 1). a will that never assents to any errant proposition as if it were true; and, 2). a will that never wills to do anything other than that which is good and well-pleasing to God. This happens to the saints in Glorification only, at the 2nd Advent. Conclusion: Christians should be cognizant of what Scripture teaches about the 2nd Advent. Questions? Comments? There’s the general call to every creature on earth. We are all called to turn away from our sins and to turn toward God and His plan for our salvation. Then there’s the effectual call which is where the Holy Spirit improves upon the general call and makes it effective unto salvation. Then there’s the technical call, John Calvin put it this way, “The Lord bids each one of us in all life’s actions to look to his calling. For He knows with what great restlessness human nature flames, with what fickleness it is borne hither and thither, how its ambition longs to embrace various things at once. Therefore, lest through our stupidity and rashness everything be turned topsy-turvy, he has appointed duties for every man in his particular way of life. And that no one may thoughtlessly transgress his limits, He has named those various kinds of livings “callings.” Therefore, each individual has his own kind of living assigned to him by the Lord as a sort of sentry post, so that he may not heedlessly wander about throughout life.” We are only going to be sinless after glorification so our mission is to be less sinful as sinlessness is a impossible notion and is not our primary objective as Children of God.
@@PETERJOHN101 It should be the goal of every Christian to “sin no more,” although we recognize that, while we are in the flesh, we will still stumble (1 John 1:8). God’s desire for each of us is to be holy as He is holy (1 Peter 1:16). We still sin, but sin is no longer a lifestyle choice (1 John 3:9-10). When we fail, we can come to God and ask forgiveness (1 John 1:9; 1 Peter 4:1-2). And if we are truly God’s children, He will correct us, disciplining us when we need it (Hebrews 12:6-11). His work is to conform us to the image of His Son (Romans 8:29). Hope that helps you have some basic understanding of what Jesus said 🙏✝️ because surely you are not claiming you are sinless because we all know what that would mean about you.

(1 John 3:6) Jesus said that those who sin are the slave of sin, while those set free from sin are no longer the slave of sin. That is why John also wrote: "He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning..." (1 John 3:8) Those who say they have never sinned are indeed liars, therefore John is warning those who justify willful sin, whether or not they claim to know Christ. Here is that warning: "If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth..." (1 John 1:6) Those who walk in darkness justify their sin. At the same time, our inherited sin nature means we are capable of sin that is not willful. Whatsoever is not of faith is sin (Rom 14:23). If I fail to speak a kind word when it is opportune to do so, that is a sin. I agree with all biblical doctrine, however your comments tell me that you embrace Reformation doctrine, which often leads to the belief that one can sin willfully without consequence. Paul wrote: "Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap." (Gal 6:7). Paul also said we should work out our salvation with fear and trembling (Phil 2:12). If you understand these doctrines and apply them having believed on Christ, you will be saved.

I think you are confused biblically about what justification by faith means. • Justification is “an act of God whereby He pronounces a sinner to be righteous because of that sinner’s faith in Christ.” We are justified, or declared righteous, at the moment of our salvation. • Sanctification is “the process by which Christians are set apart for God from the rest of the world, or the process by which Christians are made holy.” Progressive, or experiential, sanctification, as it is sometimes called, is the effect of obedience to the Word of God in one’s life. It is the same as growing in the Lord (2 Peter 3:18) or spiritual maturity. • Glorification is “God’s final removal of sin from the life of the saints so that they stand faultless before Him in glory in eternity” (Romans 8:18; 2 Corinthians 4:17). At Christ’s coming, the glory of God (Romans 5:2)-His honor, praise, majesty, and holiness-will be realized in us; we will have direct and unhindered access to God’s presence, and we will enjoy holy communion with Him throughout eternity. If you are a Christian, you are guaranteed all three steps (see Romans 8:29-30). You are forever justified, you are being sanctified, and you will for sure be glorified (1 Corinthians 6:11). All three of these amazing things are from God’s grace, not because of anything you have done or will do to earn them (Ephesians 2:8-9). You cannot earn your justification, you cannot achieve your sanctification, and you cannot merit your glorification. God makes all these things happen out of His love for you, by His grace alone (Romans 3:24; 2 Corinthians 9:8; Philippians 2:13; Titus 2:11). If you are trying to achieve any of these three things by your own power, you will inevitably fail. Instead, ask God for His grace, rely on His power, and walk by the Spirit. If you are not a Christian, then you may be trying to have these things by your own merit. You may be trying to feel righteous before God, be good in your life, and leave a lasting legacy after you die. But you cannot do it on your own (Romans 3:10-20)! God does not want you to “try harder,” but to come to Him in faith. Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). Have you had your sins forgiven? Have you accepted God’s gracious gift of eternal life? If not, why not start today? The way of salvation is simple, and it is only through Jesus Christ. “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. As Scripture says, ‘Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.’ For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile-the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, ‘Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved’” (Romans 10:9-13).
I'm not convinced. It seems instead of making the purpose of your life not to sin, you propose that Christians should obey positive scriptural commands (otherwise known as aiming to not sin).
Diff between: Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. Do not fulfill the lust of the flesh, and you will walk in the spirit There’s a reason only the former is scripture
The order of those events is the entire issue at hand though. The indwelling of the Spirit happens first, and only then can the battle against the flesh have purpose and power. Our life doesn’t start with abstaining from sin, the law was given to reveal and increase transgression (Romans 5:20). But the love of Christ is the life force of all obedience.

Jesus wants us to be a slave to the Spirit not the flesh for many good reasons. Praise God He forgives repentant hearts, it keeps us humble, grateful and grows our love for such a gracious and loving God.
I heard an old sermon from my church on Hebrews 12:1-3 recently. Forsaking sin is part of the Christian life, but it's not the goal.
The goal of the Christian life could not be not sinning, since nobody can stop sinning, and furthermore Christ has atoned for our sin and completely satisfied for all sin. This logic is by no means an excuse for sinning, but a statement of fact.
The only one who wants you to sin and who benefits from it is Satan.
What does I John 2:1 say?
If your goal isn't to sin less, God can't use you.

We all sin, and the apostle Paul and I sin more than anybody else, for God came to save sinners of whom I am chief (1 Timothy 1:15). And God certainly uses mighty sinners contrary to what you state, for Christ came to save sinners and not those that do not need a physician (Luke 5:31-32). And I need a physician more so now after being saved than before I was saved, because before I was saved I had no idea I needed a physician.

I grew up in the sda. In 2020 I began to really get into the pietism movement with Doug Wilson. I realized one day how similar the movements really are.

The purpose of our lives in Christ is to love the Lord our God with all of our heart, soul and mind. As part of that, it will be our goal to sin not.
This was therapeutic. When I was in my 40's and married and had a son, it was just great for earth life. You both have changed from your 30's to your 40's. I'm in my 70's and wow will you ever see life different then. Also, when your wives leave you, you will be totally stunned as Adam was. You will wonder how a good Christian woman who has all her needs met could ever take her bible and just leave you. A guy said to me a while back, If having a wife was so good, why didn't Jesus have one? To imitate Him and Paul is to not even touch a woman. Well why, when you know YOUR wife is different? Jesus and Paul knew for sure what I didn't know. When a woman hears a gospel from Satan, even if there is no sin around at all, she loves it. Why? I don't have a clue.

According to the apostle Paul, our goal is to be with Jesus. We are to be looking for His appearing, keeping our eyes on Him. When Paul talked about running the race he was talking about his ministry. An athlete runs because he is an athlete. An athlete doesn't run to BECOME an athlete. Paul was actually talking about freedom in Christ when he was talking about running the race. An athlete has the freedom to train however he sees fit and with whatever intensity he desires. Paul was made an apostle so he trains for that position. Even though his training may not be the same as another athlete, all the athletes must follow the rules during the race. There were rules he had to follow that pertained to his work as an apostle. He could be disqualified to be an apostle but not because of the free choices he made for his training. He said he could have married, but he chose not to. Even if he chose to marry, he would not be less of an apostle, but he chose not to marry because he wanted his ministry to be top priority. If he married, his wife would have to be a higher priority, so he chose not to marry. It was his freedom of choice. God would have been pleased if he did marry and his ministry was second priority. Running the race has nothing to do with salvation. It is about being free to make choices in our lives and still pleasing God. Marriage is a pleasing choice to God. Not getting married is a choice that pleases God. The point is that Paul made the choice to make his ministry of an apostle top priority so he "ran" as an apostle. If he chose to marry, his marriage would be his top priority, and he would "run" as a husband. Context matters.

I find it sad that some people don't find God worthy to love. He said if we love Him we would follow His commandments (John 14:15). 1 Peter 1 ....we are kept by God through 'faith'... If we have faith, love for God, we will follow His commandments. Does a good disciple reflect His master or not? His grace is not a license to sin...read Romans 8.

Focusing on our sin puts the focus on our flesh. Focusing on the Spirit puts the focus on Jesus. (The Holy Spirit ALWAYS testifies of Jesus! Not of Himself. Not of YOU!) If you focus on the Spirit, you will be focused on Christ. If you are focused on the Spirit, you will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh. To be focused on our sin is to not be focused on the Spirit, and it causes us to fall into sin. This is the same reason we don't focus on our works. Works of iniquity are works that focus on self instead of the works of the Spirit. When we focus on self, whether our sin or our good works, it is fleshly. When we focus on the Spirit, we are focused on HIS works, not our own. People who compare themselves to themselves or to others are not focused on the works of the Spirit. They are focused on the flesh. I'm not saying it is easy, but it is the truth. Paul even tells us that focusing on the law entices us to sin! Those who focus on their works or their sin cannot please God because it is not of faith. Faith in Christ totally trusts Christ to do the work through the Holy Spirit within us. We actually take the Holy Spirit's job away from Him when we are not focused on Him, and we make it our job, and that is not of faith, but of self righteousness and fleshly works. Scripture testifies of Jesus. NOT you! Look to Him!

I enjoy your podcast and agree with much of what you say but obviously not everything.
I must say though I'm not quite sure where the idea of so called "free grace antinomianism" means we hate the law. We don't. In fact we love the law just as much as you guys do because perfection to it reflects Christ and His perfect righteousness granted to us as a free gift. We just acknowledge and affirm as Paul did that we are not bound by the law as a means to eternal salvation since that salvation is in Christ and Him alone or even proof of our salvation. Just sayin. You guys make it sound as though we're haters of the law. That couldn't be further from the truth.
The Bible says that we must die to the law in order to live unto Christ. It says the law leads us to Christ and then we are no longer under the law. You can't live under both. The Bible compares this to adultery. You can't be married to both.
Impeccability and inerrancy of the saints only comes at Glorification.
Glorification only comes at the 2nd Advent; not before.
"This will of man is made perfectly and immutably free to good alone in the state of glory only." [1689 Baptist Confession of Faith; Ch. 9, "Of Free Will," para. 5].
This is one of the reasons why the synergistic and philosophically speculative definition of "human free will" as 'the power of contrary choice' is utterly fallacious.
Biblical definition of "human libertarian free will":
1). a will that never assents to any errant proposition as if it were true; and,
2). a will that never wills to do anything other than that which is good and well-pleasing to God.
This happens to the saints in Glorification only, at the 2nd Advent.
Conclusion: Christians should be cognizant of what Scripture teaches about the 2nd Advent.

There’s the general call to every creature on earth. We are all called to turn away from our sins and to turn toward God and His plan for our salvation. Then there’s the effectual call which is where the Holy Spirit improves upon the general call and makes it effective unto salvation.
Then there’s the technical call, John Calvin put it this way,
“The Lord bids each one of us in all life’s actions to look to his calling. For He knows with what great restlessness human nature flames, with what fickleness it is borne hither and thither, how its ambition longs to embrace various things at once. Therefore, lest through our stupidity and rashness everything be turned topsy-turvy, he has appointed duties for every man in his particular way of life. And that no one may thoughtlessly transgress his limits, He has named those various kinds of livings “callings.” Therefore, each individual has his own kind of living assigned to him by the Lord as a sort of sentry post, so that he may not heedlessly wander about throughout life.”
We are only going to be sinless after glorification so our mission is to be less sinful as sinlessness is a impossible notion and is not our primary objective as Children of God.
When Jesus said, "Go, and sin no more," he didn't have his fingers crossed. The question is, why are you justifying sin?

@@PETERJOHN101 It should be the goal of every Christian to “sin no more,” although we recognize that, while we are in the flesh, we will still stumble (1 John 1:8). God’s desire for each of us is to be holy as He is holy (1 Peter 1:16). We still sin, but sin is no longer a lifestyle choice (1 John 3:9-10). When we fail, we can come to God and ask forgiveness (1 John 1:9; 1 Peter 4:1-2). And if we are truly God’s children, He will correct us, disciplining us when we need it (Hebrews 12:6-11). His work is to conform us to the image of His Son (Romans 8:29). Hope that helps you have some basic understanding of what Jesus said 🙏✝️ because surely you are not claiming you are sinless because we all know what that would mean about you.

The distinction between willful sin and sin that is not willful is the topic you want to discuss, which I am happy to do. Let's quote the relevant predicate teaching of the same passage from John's letter:
"Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him." (1 John 3:6)
Jesus said that those who sin are the slave of sin, while those set free from sin are no longer the slave of sin. That is why John also wrote:
"He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning..." (1 John 3:8)
Those who say they have never sinned are indeed liars, therefore John is warning those who justify willful sin, whether or not they claim to know Christ. Here is that warning:
"If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth..." (1 John 1:6)
Those who walk in darkness justify their sin. At the same time, our inherited sin nature means we are capable of sin that is not willful. Whatsoever is not of faith is sin (Rom 14:23). If I fail to speak a kind word when it is opportune to do so, that is a sin. I agree with all biblical doctrine, however your comments tell me that you embrace Reformation doctrine, which often leads to the belief that one can sin willfully without consequence. Paul wrote:
"Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap." (Gal 6:7).
Paul also said we should work out our salvation with fear and trembling (Phil 2:12). If you understand these doctrines and apply them having believed on Christ, you will be saved.

3:4 Lawlessness (Gk. anomia) is activity bereft of God's guidance and in violation of his law. sin is lawlessness. Even Christians sin (1:9; 2:1), so it may seem like a trivial matter. But to disregard sin's grave implications is disastrous.
3:5 Jesus appeared in order to take away sins, not only so that sin might be forgiven (1:9) but also so that it might cease to exercise its tyrannical bondage. in him there is no sin. A reminder that "God is light" (1:5), and his Son embodies his sinlessness.
3:6-7 No one who abides . . . keeps on sinning. True followers of Christ do not recklessly and habitually violate what their anointing (2:20, 27) has planted within them (see note on 3:9-10). Those who do habitually sin have neither seen him nor known him. They are not genuine Christians. On

What biblical doctrine says regarding what the death of Christ achieved for those in Christ and whom are justified in Romans which I just happened to do in Bible study in the last month is that firstly it achieved a death legally (justified) to the penalty of sin, so this is a one time event which belongs to the past and cannot be repeated, this is a death to sin through identification with Christ ( so we are made righteous in Christ , whereby when we stand before God and he says what are you doing here Christ intercedes for us, he is our propitiation).
Secondly it achieved a moral death (sanctification-making a person righteous) this is a death to the power of sin (which is clearly repeatable and continuous, this is a representation of a believers victory over the flesh Roman’s 7:24-25, the world 1john 5:4 and the devil James 4:7.
So I died to sin in Christ once (legal) but I die to self (to be like Christ) daily.
Of course I still sin daily, we all do and if you don’t think you do you have no truth in you at all. I think you are confused biblically about what justification by faith means. • Justification is “an act of God whereby He pronounces a sinner to be righteous because of that sinner’s faith in Christ.” We are justified, or declared righteous, at the moment of our salvation. • Sanctification is “the process by which Christians are set apart for God from the rest of the world, or the process by which Christians are made holy.” Progressive, or experiential, sanctification, as it is sometimes called, is the effect of obedience to the Word of God in one’s life. It is the same as growing in the Lord (2 Peter 3:18) or spiritual maturity. • Glorification is “God’s final removal of sin from the life of the saints so that they stand faultless before Him in glory in eternity” (Romans 8:18; 2 Corinthians 4:17). At Christ’s coming, the glory of God (Romans 5:2)-His honor, praise, majesty, and holiness-will be realized in us; we will have direct and unhindered access to God’s presence, and we will enjoy holy communion with Him throughout eternity.
If you are a Christian, you are guaranteed all three steps (see Romans 8:29-30). You are forever justified, you are being sanctified, and you will for sure be glorified (1 Corinthians 6:11). All three of these amazing things are from God’s grace, not because of anything you have done or will do to earn them (Ephesians 2:8-9). You cannot earn your justification, you cannot achieve your sanctification, and you cannot merit your glorification. God makes all these things happen out of His love for you, by His grace alone (Romans 3:24; 2 Corinthians 9:8; Philippians 2:13; Titus 2:11). If you are trying to achieve any of these three things by your own power, you will inevitably fail. Instead, ask God for His grace, rely on His power, and walk by the Spirit.
If you are not a Christian, then you may be trying to have these things by your own merit. You may be trying to feel righteous before God, be good in your life, and leave a lasting legacy after you die. But you cannot do it on your own (Romans 3:10-20)! God does not want you to “try harder,” but to come to Him in faith. Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). Have you had your sins forgiven? Have you accepted God’s gracious gift of eternal life? If not, why not start today?
The way of salvation is simple, and it is only through Jesus Christ. “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. As Scripture says, ‘Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.’ For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile-the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, ‘Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved’” (Romans 10:9-13).
I'm not convinced. It seems instead of making the purpose of your life not to sin, you propose that Christians should obey positive scriptural commands (otherwise known as aiming to not sin).
Diff between:
Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
Do not fulfill the lust of the flesh, and you will walk in the spirit

These guys are clueless, our whole life starts when we stop sinning and Gods Spirit in dwells us. You guys are so ignorant of the Scriptures
The order of those events is the entire issue at hand though. The indwelling of the Spirit happens first, and only then can the battle against the flesh have purpose and power. Our life doesn’t start with abstaining from sin, the law was given to reveal and increase transgression (Romans 5:20). But the love of Christ is the life force of all obedience.
