New sub. I grew up among American Indians in Oklahoma. I really miss their tipis and fragrant fire places. I'm in southern Indiana now. Your tipi is fabulous and so is Mr Buster 😊 Hope to see many more vids like this. God bless.
The reason I'm watching your episode is because I'm ill with Lymes dease I got so sick I can not work so I pass my time watching u tube videos like yours . Other wise I would be out working or in the woods like you .I also love fishing but can't do that either. I will go out again.
We sold our houses. We spent 22 weeks in a tent Tipi Safir 9 admittedly on campsites I was our home. Didn’t pack the stove. We had four ground sheets we moved around so we didn’t mark the ground too much. It was the only tent that could have done it. April to August 2014 👍🏻
Six weeks campout, that is to make a dream come true. You mentioned just a while ago that you were a full-time youtuber, that is, no job, only youtube, full freedom, is that the way it is? The Tipi is really super, close at the ground, open at the top for a wood burner and completely waterproof, as well as a nice lot of space. That camp ends up being the pure luxury before you finish there. 👍
I love your tent and Buster must love it also and he seem to be enjoying his bed there inside where he can be nice and warm. Your saw horse is looking great and that is what we used when I was a teen and we had to cut up firewood for my grandparents cook stove and heater.
got to your channel searching Tentipi, so i can get a nomadic shelter in my piece of land here in the south of Spain at Granada City near the Sierranevada Range. Here we have cold winters, but from April to September i can live with a tarp or no shelter at all under a tree... but in winter i´ll need a hot tent cause freezes at night and we reach -3 to -6ºC
I sure do love a longterm camp. When I was young, the family and my aunt and uncle's bunch used to do a four-week vacation up in the mountains every year. It takes a few days to get the daily routine set, but then it's easy. The Tentipi Safir tents are great - Ric Nagualero (Nagualero on UA-cam) spent a year and a half in one (either a 7 or a 9) in Sweden a few years ago, and had nothing but good to say about the tent. It did change color a bit with 550 days of UV, but never developed even a slight leak. Looking forward to more videos as the weeks go by.
Looking forward to your series here. Have to say Tentipi tents are the best out there, have a few sizes myself :-) and the Eldfell stove belts out the heat! Won't take you long to settle into a routine...enjoy!
Late to the party here, but this is excellent stuff, mate. There is so little of this being done for real over longer periods here in the UK. Nice one. Subbed 👍🏻
You lucky bugger dean obviously your lass and the girls will be popping over with food for you and buster but still couldn't think of a better way to spend 6 weeks looking forward to seeing how you get on atvb jimmy 😎😎
Hello. Only on the first vid but enjoying so far. I have been eyeing tentipi for a while now and am getting more serious about getting one. What size is this one and do you like it or would prefer one of their other sizes?
Greetings Dean. You must be retired or business is slow this time of year to be out in the woodlands for six weeks. Great camp setup. Some humor for you: splitting wood is work and work is fascinating as I can watch it for hours. Buster sure enjoys camping. Another fantastic camping video. Have a great day.
@@BushwackerMan And thank you for your reply. So, thinking you should and need to have a hat that has your new logo on it. What kind of hat would you prefer?
Why the wood tent pole ? Did you break the metal pole?I have the same tenttipi they are great. Going to by the stove you have whishaw I could get away!!!
@@BushwackerMan Excellent, lucky you. Watched you and your good lady canoeing the river camping, which river was it and where did you set out from, keep up the good work. JPW
Hi mate great video. i have a couple of questions. firstly is there and gaps in the ground sheet if its all closed up ( could spiders/mice get in ?) also im thinking about getting one in this range for full time living. do you think the safir 7 would be big enough for me and my mountain bike? im not sure if the safir 5 would be big enough or weather to go for the 7 cheers
The ground sheet is water tight zipped in. I am currently staying in a arctic tent - ua-cam.com/video/0ZhzenlNycE/v-deo.html - so i would recommend the 9 for long term living 👍👍
@@BushwackerMan I wasnt sure if they zipped in thats good. the issue i have is i plan on travelling around fairly frequently and wild camping so i need something light enough but also big enough to carry in my bike trailer. the safir 7 light looks ideal but the stove is 20kg which is far too heavy to carry on a bike and the cheap frontier stoves which are only 10kg dont have long enough flue pipes hmmmm
I love all of your videos and also your two girls stuff as well as you all have a simple but balacened lifestyle. Please tell me how your able to spend so much time outdoors have you given up work / early retirement maybe or do you also have a full time job
Cheers Michael, i have put my time into making videos and enjoying the great outdoors, balanced with our online shop. Have a great outdoors New Year 👍👍
Thanks for the reply Bushwacker and I feel privileged to follow the journey your wonderful family are on Happy New Year to you all and looking forward to the next video🍾🍾 Can you also put a link in for your online shop if it's up and running👍
Thanks for sharing dude! Enjoyed this. I use a tipi myself but I'm more of a lightweight bushcrafter, I'd rather spend more money on insulation than carry a massive stove but I sure do love watching this kind of stuff. I can imagine sitting and having a brew in front of that stove is awesome.
It should be titled 'almost alone in the woods' as I might get my sasquatch costume on, then come eat all your food haha ;) great video buddy hope all is well

I used to process logs for sale by the hundreds of nets, your axe technique is bad, you need a splitting maul first off, you have a felling axe, and swing the axe while moving your top hand down, let the weight of the axe do the work.
What a wonderful experience, and video. I enjoyed it very much and look forward to episode 2.
So glad! 👍👍

I am going to buy a Tentipi. Can’t wait.👍👍👍

The tipi comes from TentTipi, such a great tent. more videos on the way 👍👍
Do you have issues getting creosote on your tentipi?
No not had a problem 👍👍

Thanks that makes sense. I bought a extra pole just I case
Nice. Like the Tentipi. How controllable is the Wood Stove? Can you damper it down to burn very slow? Thanks for sharing.
Cheers mate, the only control is with the front air intake but it is very effective 👍
Can I ask how much you paid for the tipi and the wood burner thanks Kyle like the videos
The tipi and wood burner cost around £2600. Mine is on loan 👍👍
Good camp setup, loving the tipi and 'shower setup ', where abouts are you, have you invested in a small woodland?
I am in a private woodland 👍
