This is the greatest song in the universe brought to us by the brilliant Jimmy McShane and Baltimora! Thank you, Jimmy, for making this world a better place. We will always love you, your music and your dancing forever. 👏❤️💋
I totally agree. So many songs & artists from the fabulous 1980's. All genres. Music was just sooo much better. I just wish they'dve had the drugs back then they have now. Freddy, Jimmy, & many wonderful others would be making millions $$ and helluva lotta people very happy doing retro tours.
@@ivanzackarynewland50Jimmy could not sing , he was a dancer. The guy that sang this song was a short Italian guy . Because Jimmy looked better and could dance he was the guy who got to perform this song . He was Milli Vanilli before they started
If I could just go back and live a ten year period over and over again in perpetuity, it would be 1982 to 1992. The sweet spot where where music, culture and the best period of my youth all converge in those years.
Absolutely!!! Well said Sir. Truly a Golden, Beautiful time in my life up till '93.......At least once a day I wish I could go back to those precious times.... They will never be again.....😢❤ Rest in Peace Jimmy.....😌😊👍🫂🙏😇

what i read is that they had a single MONSTER hit. Shows that when ppl do things with 100% dedication without aiming for hits, then things automatically happen. A true masterpiece.
Jimmy was a great dancer and frontman, truth is the real singer was Maurizio Bassi, writer, musician and creator of the project Baltimora. You can spot him in the back wearing a red cap and white clothes.
It's true. If you listen carefully, you can hear Italian interpretations of English words; errors an Irishman would never make. The best one is "signal", pronounced "sing-jal". Or "leeving in the open," instead of "living". But there are others. I grew up in Italy and the accent is unmistakable. You can also tell during videos of live performances. It's funny that it's controversial. Great song though. In fact, it wouldn't be the same with another voice.
We all heard he died and felt old EARLY. This was a kid still in his 30s when he died. We danced to this for hours in 1985-86 before we moved to House clubs by the late 80s.
Excellent performance from Jimmy Mcshane & the fantastic baltimora.I'm a long fan of all 80s music as they were the best decade of musical pioneers like omd who I've followed since i was 10 & seen them live 8 maybe 9 times & i last year at crashrecords headrow in leeds at the record signing i met Andy McCluskey lead singer & bass guitar & paul humphrey vocals & keyboards/synthesiser. I'm 55 now & still listen to as many 80s songs as i can. Thanks for the memories Jimmy mcshane the stars will spell out your name sir. Rest easy xxx
I know there's a lot of debate whether Jimmy McShane or Maurizio Bassi sang this and it's generally accepted Bassi sang it, but I think McShane could have because there are spots throughout the song with an ever so slight Irish accent, like "message" kinda comes out "meyessage"
Only Bassi knows for sure and the dude ain't talking. If it is true then the dude on the left on keyboard never seen close up but for his hands is most likely Bassi singing. Doesn't change the fact that I wish there was more from Baltimora with McShane. And that Bassi doesn't seem to have done anything else since.
Excellent ! That was the typical "futuristic" stage...futuristic in the fashion of 1985, with neons and all the rest ! I like it when the drums plays on the hexagonal Simmons pads, with these funny sounds, and the focus on the synth when the keyboardist plays his sequence ... You can feel this was pure fun; the 1980s were a pure decade for havin' fun... even as the 1990s came, all of that faded away, in my opinion : rap crap, dance, techno..;etc were already there
A todos fanáticos de Baltimora, aclarar y decirles que la.banda es italiana y el tecladista es Maurice Bazzi, voz y dueño, Mcshine fue imagen, figura y baile, usando la.voz de Bazzi.
Even though I knew of the song from my youth, I never knew who did this one particular song. Now its one of my favorites and I end up singing it at work, lol. Even my own beliefs of being nongay is not enough to make me dislike this song or its frontman
i think sometime in the future there will be a movie made about jimmy , it was a time when AIDS was scaring the public and all sorts of bad things were said about gays and how this man kept on doing his singing and living with the disease and the public outrage -
Jorge Ricaldi still a big controversy on who really sang it, honestly had to been bassi bc the song sounds the same live and as recorded. cant really believe wikipedia though. anyone can change wiki stories and bios
well,....that's kind of dishonest? What was the standard back then? I know Milli Vanilli came later, but you'd think if Baltimora did live performances,...it would be a little different than the tracks, unless they made a track a little different before each live performance? Weird .....
