Is there benefit to buying dates like this vs. Buying them with pits already removed?

in the US at least, usually whole dates are medjool which are larger, juicier, and in my opinion tastier. Pitted dates are usually 'deglet noor' which are smaller and have barely any moisture in them at all (and sometimes stringy because of it?). I like that the unpitted dates are less processed too since no one has cut them open etc
