- A quick comparison of 2 cheap amps available at Parts Express, and on Amazon. the 2020 is a 2 channel amp, the 168 is a 2.1. Both are good for the price, but I prefer the simplicity of the 2020.

I'm suffering from a vocal cord disorder (spasmodic dysphonia) that makes speech difficult for me. I made this video as an attempt to try and work past my limitations with speaking. I'm currently getting treatment for this, and hopefully my voice will be back to normal, or almost normal soon. Thanks in advance for being understanding.

For what I could see from pictures on amazon, the 2 subwoofer outputs are absolutly not identical. One is marked 180°, meaning the phase is inversed. Since you choosed this output, in the frequency overlapping range between the speakers and the sub, the waves in opposite phases are annahilating each-other. Change the sub ouput and you should get a much flater (better) response.

does the crossover work as advertised, like completely filter all frequencies down to the set crossover freq? i am going to use this for a bass shaker/tactile transducer and i dont want high freqs to be played through it. (great video btw! i cant seem to find many vids of this 2.1 amplifier)
Zuubytron the crossover doesnt really do a great job at filtering out the highs. It still plays quite a bit of the highs. It almost sounds the the high frequencies are just dropped quite a few db, without them being filtered completely.
thanks for the fast reply, that was the main reason i was looking at this amplifier. i guess i will go with my second option, a sub amplifier which only plays 400hz-40hz, but i want it to go down to 20hz.
hello I bought a device like this. when I increase the volume I notice a loss of bass in the subwoofer. I use a 12 volt 4 amps source. can you help me ?
If you use the 168, you cam decrease the bass with the gain control for the subwoofer. If your using the 2020ti, you can decrease the bass with the bass tone control. I hope that helps

soooo go with the left one if your sub is powered by itself i'm so confused
tina walsh the left one (2020ti) only has 2 channels. It will power 2 speakers. If your subwoofer is powered, and has speaker level input, then it will work for you.
The right one (168) can power 2 speakers, AND can power a subwoofer. You don't need a powered subwoofer for it, you can just use an unpowered one, and this amp will power it.
Can run the subwoofer out to my high level input on my active sub?
I hadn't thought of that, but I see no reason why that wouldn't work.

lepai amp suck had 4 of them the old 2020+ and the new tripath. They start malfunctioning channels go bad gave up on lepai. Try Dayton audio Bluetooth board amp the volume is like 5watts better of buying car radio. Please stop yawning very unpro take a nap
fullpeladas I'm not yawning, I have a vocal cord disorder that makes my vocal cords partially paralysed. Unfortunately that is my normal speaking voice, it is very challenging for me.
